sometimes, I freakin' hate aol
just did an entry and it ate it
screw it.
have a great night folks... i'm off to have a glass of champagne.
This entry is going to be all highlights... only because I'm completely frustrated with myself. I had a whole entry almost done, hit the backspace button one too many times and "Poof" it was gone.
*Been dealing with Rowan and an upset belly since early Wednesday morning.
*Don't know if it was a flu virus or something else (constipation) that was bother her, but she seems to be back to her normal self... in more ways than one ;) haha... TMI I know...
*Zachary woke up all croupy this morning. Has a bit of a fever too.
*Fluids and Triamatic have been helping... will be surely running the humidifier tonight too.
*Went and got my nails done... just a special treat for myself. Wanted them for the Holidays and for my bro's wedding (the first week of Jan)
*Bought myself two new Nora Roberts books at Target after my nail appt... along with other things.
*"The Calhouns: Suzanna and Megan" and "The Calhouns: Catherine, Amanda and Lilah"... they sounded interesting, so I picked them up.
*Right now, I'm reading "Charmed and Enchanted" a book with the two stories in it from "The Donovan Legacy".
*Can you tell I'm addicted to Nora Roberts lately?
*Still potty training Zachary. Twice today he has run off to the bathroom saying "eww" - his word for number 2- and gone. And he has gone multiple times for number 1. I hope by the time he is 2 in February he'll be pretty close to done... and out of diapers.
*Guess I'll be needing to get more of the Kandoo wipes from Pampers that Ro uses.
*Christmas is only 11 days away... still have a few more things to pick up... but should be able to get it all in one day.
*Did most of the wrapping last night. Only a few certain gifts are not done... just because they either stay unwrapped or certain people were around and I couldn't wrap them :)
Okay, I think that is all I wanted to write about... Obviously it was nicer written all out and not in bulletin form... but hey, I didn't want to rewrite it all... so, this is what I give ya :)
Hope you all have a great Thursday night... I am back to work tomorrow morning- been switching my days of every other Friday for every other Thursday... still getting used to it :X
Toodles.
... Done.
I have 5 more gifts to get and put together and then I'm done with my Christmas shopping.
2 of those gifts are for couples, so that is easy enough to do. While 2 other gifts are Gift Cards! Even easier!!
The wrapping and putting together is going to be the hard part... lol.
I can't wait though.
I can't wait to see the kiddo's faces after Santa has come and gone...
I can't wait to see my husband's face after he opens the gift I got him. I hope he doesn't figure it out... and he actually likes what I got him.
Only 13 more days and I can't wait!!
It's getting closer.
I can't believe that Christmas is only 16 days away.
It doesn't seem right, does it?
I can't believe how quickly this year has flown by.
And how quickly my children are growing up!!
Next month, Rowan will be 5 years old... and Zachary will turn 2 in February!!
Wow, I guess time really does fly when you are having fun :)
So, yesterday was my day off and I did some shopping.
I've always done shopping for Christmas in parts. You know, not everything at once. Well, not yesterday.
I went to Target with Zachary after we had dropped Rowan off at school. I'm glad he is still young enough that I can actually do the Christmas shopping with him and not be worried that he's going to spill the beans or figure out what is for him :)
Let me just say, I'm proud of myself. I made a HUGE dent in what I needed to get... mostly for my kids and younger niece and nephew. I even stuck to my list of what I wanted to get them. Didn't venture off and buy things that Derek and I didn't discuss.
The only thing I didn't really know what I was going to get for them were the stocking stuffers... but I found a few things (like a microphone from Parents for both and flashlights for both of them) so I think those will be okay for them.
I about died though when I checked out. I can't remember the last time I spent that much money at one time... and all by myself. Too keep my innocent until proven guilty, I won't say how much I did spend... but I'm REALLY glad I don't have to buy too much more ;)
After picking Rowan up from school... and making sure I had hid the presents in my closet... we went and got Dog Food. Both of our dogs, Lola and Tango (D's dog for work) have to be on special food due to skin allergies. I swear, is there a real reason why dog food has to be so stinkin' expensive? I wish we could feed them the inexpensive stuff... but they'd both be chewing themselves alive... and then there would be vet bills... so, I guess it is kinda worth it to pay a bit extra for the food.
I treated Rowan and Zachary to McDonalds for lunch yesterday too. Along with treating myself and Derek to Chicken and Beef teriakyi from the Sushi restaurant... Yes, I got me some yummy sushi as well :)
Unfortunately, the Beef teriakyi that I bought Derek is still in the fridge. When I got home, he was already up and having to go to work for a SWAT call out. So, he didn't have time before or after to eat it. I hope he'll have it for lunch today... thankfully, if he doesn't, we'll only be out $7 for it.
Last night the kids and I went to my parents for dinner and visiting. We had Chinese food... yummo. It is funny how different restaurants can make the same stuff, but it tastes different. I liked the food last night though... will have to go there again.
Today I am supposed to be taking the kids to see "Happy Feet" with my in laws. Rowan will have a good time, hanging out with her cousins and what not... but I'm not sure how Mr. Z will take his first movie. Thankfully, I think he is free... so if I have to spend some time out running the halls with him, it won't be too bad :)
Okay, I'm going to go and get myself and the kids cleaned up. I want to try and get them to take a picture in front of our tree... then upload them to Walgreens so I can get my Christmas cards out before the end of the month... lol.
Have a great day, Friends.
Only 19 days until Christmas!
Are you ready?
.
.
.
.
Me either... lol.
Come Friday though... watch out shoppers, Jennifer will be out there in full force ;)
What a busy busy weekend I had.
I didn't have my normal day off (Friday) this week... so, I really wasn't used to not having three days off to do what I needed to do.
It started Saturday morning, having to get myself and both kids ready for Rowan's dance recital.
Derek had worked Friday night, so I tried to let him sleep in as long as possible... but boy, was he a tired, tired boy.
Anyways. Not only did I have to get Rowan ready for her dance recital (pictures to come), I had to get myself ready for the bridal shower that my mom and I were attending for my future SIL...
The bridal shower that happened to be a good 1 1/2 hours away...
Let me tell you, I was surprised to actually get out of the house on time!
I was super glad that my mom and I were actually able to get to see Rowan dance. We were worried that we'd have to leave before she got to dance...
But, she danced in the 11th act... so, we had no problem... since the dances are maybe 2-3mins each. If that.
Rowan looked so cute when she was up there. I had done her hair curly and put some really pretty makeup on her... nothing dramatic that you see some girls wearing, but just enough to accent her beauty ;)
Here she is... Princess Rowan...
Isn't she such a doll... I mean, yeah, I think that about her because she is my baby... but come on... I know you think it too ;)

Here she is dancing... I'm not sure if she was off at this point... but she knew the dance... even if she was off.

Just another of her...

Don't let that look fool you... Her halo is held up by her horns!
She had a really good time doing her dance. I was very proud of her. She seems to enjoy dancing too. I think when she gets to be 6yrs old, I'll get her into the Hip-Hop class there... I think she'd like that even more than ballet/tap.
So, after Ro's recital my mom and I left for the bay area.
Derek was such a good daddy that day and took Rowan and Zachary back to her evening dance recital. I wasn't sure on how he'd deal with that, but he did a good job.
Anyways.
My mom and I headed off to the bridal shower. It was so lovely. The theme was a tea party... so there was iced tea (or course) and champage drinks and lots of snacky foods.
We played games! I even won the Word Scramble game... getting an apron and a thing for making tea. I think it holds the tea bag in your cup or something. I'm not sure... lol.
The gifts that we were given for coming were the cutest though. We got little tea pots... that we could either use for tea or for candles. I haven't decided what I want to do with it yet... but I'm sure I will soon :)
Okay, so after we left the party, my mom drove me all the way back to where the dance recital was. I was meeting Derek there and my mom was grabbing the kids for us... my parents were watching them for us that evening so Derek and I could go to a White Elephant Party.
Let me tell you.
I had so much fun!
The people hosting the party are friends of ours through the police department. Everyone there was either a police officer or a fireman, or both... lol.
The hostest had a wine tasting bar for us ladies... while the host had the keg for the boys.
I had never done a wine tasting... it was interesting and I found that I actually enjoyed a merlot and chardonnay. And I'm not a wine person. Champagne, maybe... Wine no.
The whole gift exchange to do with the White Elephant Party was hilarious. Derek said we are keeping our present that we stole for next years gift... keep it going, you know?
lol.
I'm glad we had my parents watch the kiddos though. We didn't get home until after 130am! I never ever stay up that late... lol.
Between the wine/champagne and the lack of sleep, I was really dragging yesterday.
I stayed in bed until 915am and when Zachary took a nap, I layed down in bed with him and read. I don't think I had a hangover... but I sure wasn't myself.
At 130pm, my mom came by the house to pick me up so we could go to a high school sober grad night fundraiser.
The fundraiser?
Buncko!!
Boy, was it fun. I think my SIL (who is on the commity) is going to try and put together a Buncko group since we had so much fun!
Okay guys. Its late and I've rambled on long enough. I'll leave you with this picture of my "Men".
Derek took this of him and Zachary at the recital. Aren't they stinking adorable??
Have a great evening Friends.
