~I'm Not Supposed to Be Here~

I have to say, when my alarm went off this morning, I was a tid-bit confused.

I couldn't remember why I had set my alarm to got off at 540 in the morning.  I never get up that early on Friday mornings... Never.

Then it hit me...

I had to get up to get ready for work :(

 

I'm not supposed to be here today... Nope, I'm not.  I'm supposed to get my three day weekend, like always... And I'm not getting it this weekend :(

Yes, I'm pouting...

Sue me why don't ya...

 

Anywho...

Enough on me complaining about having to work... I know I'm damned lucky to get Fridays off most of the time.  So, I aint going to rain on anyone's parade that always has to work on Fridays.

 

First off...

Miss Rowan is doing so much better.

Still under the weather, that is for sure.  Yet, she hasn't thrown up since yesterday morning- she had three baby bites of applesauce and it came back up after an hour- but she is drinking plenty of gatorade and keeping that down.  So that is good...

I just spoke to my mom and she said that she gave her a bath and put her into clean clothes.  Rowan still doesn't want anything to eat... We think she is scared to have something on her belly.  She doesn't want to throw up.  Poor thing.  Hopefully my mom can convince her to eat some toast or applesauce later this morning.

Man, I'm so tired this morning...

I shouldn't be either.  Wanna know why??

Because I have wonderful, WONDERFUL parents.  That is why.  My parents felt so bad that I hadn't been getting enough sleep the last few days that the told me they'd take care of Zachary when he got up in the middle of the night!!

Thanks Mom and Dad... Love you to pieces...

So, I was able to sleep from 945pm-545am!!  Ahh, it was nice.  But I just don't get why I'm so tired :)

Guess a Nap might be in order for this evening, huh??

 

Oh, I wanted to share the pictures of the kids in their Halloween costumes with you guys.  But I just couldn't get my camera to take good enough pictures or get my scanner to work correctly.

Thankfully, I had mailed some pics to Barbie... And because she scanned them and posted them, now I can share them with you!!!  So, thank you Barbie!!

Thanks to Barbie for letting me copy and paste... Lol. Remember, Zach is Winnie the Pooh dressed up as a Bumble Bee and Rowan is Snow White!! Hope you all enjoy them!!

Well, I've got things to to... Not used to being in the working mood on Fridays, but oh well :)

~Hello Hello~

Hello again...

Just wanted to let you all know that everyone is alive and well in the Pickle Family :)

Some of us are Tired... But we are well.

 

Rowan on the other hand is still not feeling too good.

She hasn't thrown up since 130 this morning, but still feels like she is going to.  She will put her head over the pot (we use a big ol' cooking pot instead of a bowl or something else) and cough and groan... But no throwing up.

Last night she slept pretty well though.  I was suprised she wasn't up more... But I am thankful that she wasn't :)

I ended up calling the doctors office yesterday evening to see if there was anything I could do to help her keep the liquid down... They told me that they wanted to see her, since she had been throwing up for so long and not being able to hold anything down.

Rowan made it all the way there with out throwing up.  She got into the room and I saw the look in her eyes and I just knew she was going to throw up.  The nurse got me a bowl and good thing she did... Poor Rowan.  She seemed so embarrassed.

We ended up being at the doctors office for a good hour.  The doctor wanted to make sure Rowan's bowels were moving, because when she listened to her stomach, she said it was really quiet.  Almost too quiet.  So she made Rowan drink a few sips of water and then she came back to check her.

She heard some movement, so we were able to go home...

On the way home, Rowan threw up in the car :(

Luckily, it was right at the exit we take to go home... So I just pulled over, let her finish and I cleaned up up and we were on our way.  The poor thing apologized a good two times... Telling me she was sorry for throwing up in the car.

Good thing I had put towels down on the car and her... And that it was just water coming up... Nothing else.  Ewww...

I just hope by this afternoon she'll be able to take some applesauce or toast.  The poor girl has already lost a pound!!  And it isn't like she weighs a whole heck of a lot either!!

 

But you wanna know what I really hope???

 

I hope this doesn't pass to Zachary... The poor little man will have no chance with keeping anything down.  And if he can't keep his meds down, that means another trip to the hospital.  And we So Don't Want That!!

 

But anyways... Enough on the sickies at the Pickle Jar...

 

I am so ready for the weekend, although I am sure it isn't going to be as quiet as I'd like.

I don't know if I'm working tomorrow or not.  Because I called in yesterday, my SIL had to come in and work.  So if she wants tomorrow off, I'll work for her... But that is still up in the air.  Yet if I work, that means I won't have my "normal" weekend.

Plus on Saturday I have that bridal shower for my friend.  I hope it turns out okay... Since I really don't know what is planned and haven't been asked to do anything else, I'm just going to sit back and watch how it plays out :)  How evil am I???

Oh yes, that is right... Pretty damned Evil.

Oh well...

Sunday will be our quiet day for sure.  I was planning on taking the kids to a local church (where my friend teaches preschool) to their Harvest Festival... But I'm not sure if Ro (or I) will be up to it.  I guess we'll just have to see.

 

Alright people... I've got a bunch of stuff to do today.  Its amazing what piles up when you are gone for just one day!!

~Zach Update~

Good news on Zach.

He does not have an ear infection :)

 

The PA thinks he is just teething and that is what is causing his crankiness..

 

Zach also got a Flu Shot and the PA suggested that the rest of The Pickle Jar get one too.

 

So you know we will be :)

~Not Again~

I'm home today...

Why you ask?

 

Because my poor little girl Rowan woke up at mid-night, having to throw up...

And she has continued to throw up. 

She can't keep anything down.

Not pedialite and soda mix... Not the water that she is so thirsty for after she pukes up... nothing.

She is running a good temp... Just about 100 degrees.

 

She is white as a ghost- perfect for Halloween, except it isn't Halloween- and she shakes like a leaf every time she throws up.

 

I feel so bad for her.  And the control that little girl has over holding it until she can get to the toilet or the pot... Oh my, I swear, she is not 3 years old... Most 3 year olds would just throw up right were they are...  Not her...

Oops, there she blows again....

Okay, so not only is Rowan sick... Now I'm feeling icky too.  I think it probably has to do with the fact that I didn't get any sleep last night and seeing her throw up... ewww... I'll stop now.

 

My mom just left to take Zach to the doctors too.

Poor thing has been pulling at his ears and being a cranky monster...

I hope that he doesn't have ANOTHER ear infection, but I won't be suprised that he does...

I'll let you all know how he is as soon as I can.

 

Miss Rowan is going to take up plenty of my time today... The poor thing.

~Halloween Candy Will Be the Death of Me~

Did you know how dangerous it is to have "Good" Halloween candy in your house before Halloween???

Oh it is.  Let me tell you.

We started off with two bags of candy.  One with "Good" chocolate candy and the other with a mixture of sweet candy like Skittles and Lolipops.  Well, because we broke into the "good" candy, my mom decided that she'd get another bag to replace what we had eaten.

A few days later... Another bag was bought to replace what more we had eaten!!  Can you guess what was one of the things I bought at Target was yesterday???

Yep.  Another Big Bag of "Good" Chocolate Candy!!

This one has Almond Joys and Mounds... Peanut Butter Cups and Whoopers... Oh my.

Halloween Candy will be the Death of Me :)

 

So yesterday was Rowan's gymnastics Halloween celebration... I am sure that you notice that there aren't any pictures here... So, can you guess what I forgot??

Yep, that is right... The camera :X

But I did pick up a disposable camera at Target :)  Good Mommy!!  So, now I have to use the rest of the exposures and get them developed- something I haven't done in FOREVER- before I can share them with you all.

Hey!  At least I got some picture though :D

 

I'm struggling with a Monster Headache right now.  I don't know what is up, but I've had a headache on and off since Saturday night.  I'm not going to complain too much, because I know there are other people out there that suffer from headaches much worse than mine (((Lisa))).  But no matter how much caffine I have or how many Advil I take... It is still there.

I think it is from my lack of sleep.

Oh well.

Zach is still not sleeping all night.  I don't know what happened.  For a while he was going from about 10pm-5am or so... Then it was waking up around 3 or 4am for a bottle and sleeping until 730.

We don't get it.  I'm not sure if it is him not feeling good for one reason or another.  It does look like he might be getting another tooth or if it is him having gas pains in his belly...

Because let me tell you.  Zach is a Champion Farter!!  That boy can clear a room... And he is only 8 months old :D

Anyone have any ideas on how to get his cute little butt to sleep all night long???

I'd love some suggestions...

 

Hmm...

 

Tonight Rowan has dance class.  I'm sure nothing much will get done this evening because it is their Halloween Celebration too.  Oh well.  As long as Rowan is having fun right?? :)

After Ro's dance class, I think I'm going to run to my friend Amy's house and pick up the pumpkins that she got for us.

See, Amy lives in the country and the field down from her house had been long picked over from their harvest of Pumpkins and they know the owner of the field.  Well, I guess he doesn't mind them coming into the field and picking the remaining pumpkins before they get disced over... So, that is how we are getting 5 big and nice pumpkins :)

Derek had planned on carving the pumpkins tomorrow with Rowan... But that won't be happening.

He was ordered to work for some special task force.  Oh well.  The OT will be good for our bank account :)  And the more that he works and does those special things, the better he looks to other people...

The better he looks to other people... The faster he'll climb up the ladder there at the PD.  And that is always good...

 

Well, I've got to get my butt into gear.  I'm here by myself right now... I need to get payroll done and then my other paper work.  So much fun :)

~A Little Rundown~

I didn't realize how many days I didn't post here in the Pickle Journal until today...

Its been a few days and really, its been a few days since I've done a Real Perky Pickle Entry :)

 

So, what has been going on in the Pickle Jar, you ask?  Well... Let me tell you.

 

Last week, the inside of our house was painted.  If you look at the pictures in the previous entry, where Zachary is standing up at the door, you'll notice the Arizona Tan.  That color is all in the frontroom/dinning room/hallway.  I will take some pictures today after I get home to share tomorrow.  The colors are so rich and they truly make the house feel warm and inviting.  The wonders paint does to your home, I swear.  I will never again have White Walls.

Now, we only have our den, our room and bathroom, and Zach's room to paint to complete our house.  Those will probably be done by Derek and I... And I have no idea what colors we'll do either.  I go back and forth a lot with a light celery green in our room with a cream color in our bathroom.  But I am not too sure that Derek is too hot on those colors.  Although, he now does like color in our house...

I really want to do Zachary's room in blue camo.  I thought it would be cute to have a real "BOYS ROOM"... But I'm not sure if I have the patience to sit there and tape off all those different sections to do that.  I'm really not that talented either... lol.

And our den... Shoot, that is a whole other story.  Derek and I originally talked about that being a "pub" and doing Guiness colors (creamy yellow and black) but then he goes and changes his mind :X  Boys... So frustrating!

 

Hmm, what else has been going on??

 

Friday my mom and I went and got our hair done.  I really chopped into mine.  It was getting so out of control and heavy that I couldn't do anything with it.  It was permantely stuck in a "messy bun" at the back of my head.  Not fun.  So, I had her cut bunches of layers into it and make it lighter... Now I'm able to scrunch it up real good :)  Nice and Wild... Just how I like it ;)

Friday I also went to the local floral supply store to pick up red silk favor bags.  I had to put together favors for the bridal shower that is this next weekend...

Oh, did I mention that I'm in yet another wedding?? 

Well, I am.  Thankfully, the Maid of Honor is very stubborn and doesn't want much help.  Oh well.  Her loss.  I'll do as I am told and that is it... Nothing more.

So, I made 48 favor bags filled with Hersey Kisses.  I thought that was a pretty good idea for a bridal shower favor, but the MOH had other ideas... Ideas that I quickly SHUT DOWN. 

:)  I'm so evil...

 

Saturday night I went out with my friends Amy and Christie.  We didn't do or accomplish much.  Dinner at Applebee's and that is about it.  None of us wanted to go to a really late movie and there wasn't anything else going on, so I was home by 10pm.

The life and times of a married woman... Fun and exciting I tell ya ;)

 

Sunday morning the kiddos and I went with my friend Megan to the Pumpkin Patch.  But this pumkin patch isn't your normal pumpkin patch... Dell Osso farms in Lathrop, Ca. has this wonderful place with a Giant Corn Maze and tons of activities to do... It was fun and Rowan had a good time... Except for when we went into the Haunted House and she said "I want out I want out" the whole time.  Good thing Megan held her the entire time in there :)

Tonight Rowan has gymnastics!!  It should be fun because they all get to come dressed up in their Halloween costumes to take pictures and pass out candy to each other in the first part of class.  So, you know I'll have MORE pictures tomorrow.  lol.

I am also going to have to make a stop at Target.  I have Taxables that I need to get and stuff for Ro's gymanstic goodie bags.  Lets hope that I don't break any babyfood jars this time :)

 

Okay, that is pretty much it.  Life has been good in the Pickle Jar... Now I'm just waiting for nights that I can sleep all night long :)

As you can tell, Rowan had a blast.  She really enjoyed feeding the fish and planting her plant.  Derek wasn't able to get pictures of her doing that because the memory card was full and he spent that time deleting pics so he could take more of her doing other things.  What a good daddy he is :)

I just wanted to drop in and tell ya'll that Rowan and Derek had a great time at the Pumpkin Patch followed by a trip for breakfast to IHOP.

And yes, Derek did take some good pictures.  I'll post those tomorrow- I promise.  There are a bunch and I need to rename and resize them.

 

And Jimmy, thanks for the offer of the picture and the laugh :D

 

Oh yes.

I'm STILL fighting with the insurance company about the bill for Zachary's helicopter ride.  They STILL haven't paid it.  I spoke the guy that told me it would be paid... We went round and round.  I asked to speak to his supervisor and she just happened to be unavailable.

F***er's.

So, I told him that if they weren't going to pay this- something they have to pay because I have 100% coverage- I was going to involve my lawyer.  And I will too...

I have to call back on Monday to speak with him and you know I'll be demanding to speak to his supervisor once again.  This whole "we don't want to pay/they aren't contracted with us" bullshit needs to end...

And now.

 

Okay, can you see why I'm still in a pissy ass mood??

 

I am going to go rummage through the two box full of clothes that I got from Old Navy today.  Maybe that will help my mood...

Oh yeah, and eat some chocolate candy that is ment for halloween :)

Today is my daughter's first field trip.

To the Pumpkin Patch.

And I didn't get to go with her :(

 

Luckily today was one of her father's days off... So he was able to go with her.

I instructed him to take plenty of pictures, so that I had something to look at and to share with you all :)

I hope she calls me when she gets home to tell me how much fun it was...

I'm really not in a good mood today... Just bummed about things.  Don't really feel like getting into it too much.

~WTH is Up With AOHell??~

Watch out world... Pickle is PMSing... and EVERYTHING is seems to be Pissing her Off!!

 

First of all.  WTH is up with AOHell and the mail situation?  I signed on this morning to find an EMPTY inbox.  My inbox is NEVER empty. Never.

Then all of the sudden I get this Pop-Up from AOL saying that they are unable to list mail right now and to try back in a few minutes.

WTF???

So, I IM'ed Barbie and asked her... She said she was having mail problems too.  So was my Dad.  Good to know it wasn't just me.

I signed off AOHell hoping that it would be "back to normal" when I resigned on... Ah, no.  Still no mail!

Fine.

Whatever.

I waited a good 10 minutes and then FINALLY my mail loaded.

WTF AOL?  Are your PAYING customers being put to the bottom of your list now??  Its not like this is the only problem too.  How about the comment alerts that we aren't getting still or the other things???

 

UGH.  Freakin' frustrating I tell you!

 

Another thing that tanned my hide this morning...

I was on my way to work and I see these flashing emergency lights coming towards me.  No big deal right?  Its just a Fire Truck.

You move over to the right side and let them go on their business.

Well, I guess someone didn't feel that they had to move over and this a-hole just keeps going down the road at a pretty good speed too!

UGH.  Now, I don't know why, but that just Pissed me off!!

I guess because everyone else moves over because you are supposed to.  And I know that if that fire truck or ambulance had been for that person who just kept on goinghadn't made it to them in a good time, they probably would have been pissed off.  They probably would have blammed it on the people who didn't get out of the trucks way...

Just like they had.

Maybe I'm being silly... But it bothers me when people do shite like that!!!

You wanna know what else bothers me??

;)

People who SLAM on their brakes when they see a cop or Highway Patrol pulled over on the side of the road WITH another car... Like this cop is going to stop what he is doing with that person he has pulled over to come after their ass... Slamming on the brakes is only going to cause more problems!!  UGH!!!

 

Okay... So... I'm done ranting and raving now :)

Rowan's dance class went suprisingly well last night.  I was actually pleased to see them dancing.  They were learning a dance for their Christmas recital and pretty much used all the time of the class learning it.

I was a happy costumer last night :)

 

Oh yes.  My house is being painted.  And let me tell you, paint does wonders to your home!!  It looks great... I can't wait to take finished pictures and share with you all.

But until they are done... my house is in shambles.  Messy Messy.  Things everywhere :X  Oh well.  They should be done by tomorrow afternoon so I'll spend some good time of Friday putting lots of stuff away!!

I'm off to enjoy my Fruit-n-Yogurt Parfait from McDonald's now... Have a Great Hump Day all :)

~Nothing Coming to Me~

Morning All.

 

Thought I'd stop in for a quick update.

Still don't have much coming to me in regards to doing real good entries and keeping you all entertained :)

 

I am having a hard time believing that it is only Tuesday.  I feel like I've been on the go now for about a week and a half.  I am also so tired that I'm having a hard time getting up in the mornings.  I literally hit my Snooze button a good 2-3 times every morning.

The kids have been sleeping well at night.  Finally back in their own beds... So I can't blame it on that.  I just think I'm worn thin.  Who knows.

All I know is that I can't wait for the weekend!!

 

Anywho.

 

Zach's cardiologist appointment went well yesterday afternoon despite the fact that I was there for TWO HOURS!!!! 

Yes, I said Two Hours.

See, our appointment was at 230pm.  We were in a room by 240pm and at 330pm, when neither the doctor or the nurse had stuck their head in the door, I finally was ticked enough to go out and ask if it would be much longer!!

I was told that there had been an emergency and that it shouldn't be too much longer before he came in.  I waited another 10 mins before he did come in.

The way the appointments go is this... The nurse takes us in, weighs and measures Zach.  Then the doctor comes in and listens to his heart, takes his blood pressure and just asks how he is doing.  The doctor then leaves and the nurse comes back in to do a 12-point lead EKG.  Once that is done, the doctor looks at that and then comes back in...

From beginning until end at the appointment was two hours >(

The doctor said Zach is looking good though.  He does still have a pretty good murmur but he seems confident that he'll grow out of it... If he doesn't though, it won't be such a big issue to worry about.  There will be nothing we can do about it.  It isn't bad enough to take action against it...

So, we go back in December.  We'll take pictures (sonogram) of his heart and do more EKG's.  Hopefully by then we'll have a good idea of where we'll be in the next 6 months in regards to him and being off his meds.

Keep your fingers crossed for us!!

I've got bad news about the pictures, guys.

I tried to take pictures of them this morning, but they weren't coming out well enough to want to post them on here.

I will have to try to scan them on my printer/scanner/copier at home.  It is really difficult to use though... So please don't be mad that I haven't done it yet ;)

I do want to share them... I promise.

Speaking of the kiddos. 

Zach has two teeth now.  They are both up passed the gums and big and white.  He is also is Cruising... He will pull himself up on anything-mainly the coffee table- and will be on the go!  The other day he stood up on a box of diapers and pushed/walked it all over the living room (we have pergo flooring).   I can see it now, he'll be walking by 9 1/2 months!

Eeek.

Rowan is also doing really well.  She is almost 4 but acts a whole lot older.  Sometimes I need to remind her that I'm the mom, not her :)  I guess my mom was right.  What you do wrong comes back to haunt ya three times fold :X

 

In other news...

 

I've got many a-things going on today.

Our house is getting painted today and Rowan has dance.

Yippee... Dance.... Wasted time :X  I think I will mention/ask what is going on to the "directors" or the people who work at the front desk.  It all depends on how irritated I get though :) lol.  I'm not much on confirtation, so I don't know...

 

I'm such a sissy sometimes...

Guess I'm still in a journaling funk.

 

Just thought I'd inform you all that there are 68 days until Christmas.

 

Plus, I'll be posting the pics of the kiddos later today or tomorrow, so watch for those.

 

Also, Zach has a cardiologist appointment this afternoon.  So wish us good luck that it goes well.  I'm sure it will... Maybe we'll find out when we can look forward to not having to give him meds anymore.

He screams when he wants a bottle and will continue to get louder and louder until the bottle is put in front of his face!  This is a real bad thing when I'm up at 430 in the morning, trying to make the bottle as quickly as I can!!

He pounds his fists on his high chair tray while screeching when he wants another bite of his food.

And if he isn't full when you've run out of food in the bowl... Run quickly to the fridge to grab the rest of the food in the jar... Because if you don't, he'll scream like a maniac!!

The Portuguese in him has really started to come out, I tell ya.

Anyhow.

 

Both of my plans that I had today didn't go through.

Derek informed me this morning that he didn't have to participate in the "fair" that they were having at the park so he didn't take Tango.

It also rained cats and dogs this morning so I wasn't about to drag myself and the kiddos out this afternoon and sit on wet, cold benches at my nieces football/cheerleading thing.

 

So do you know what I did instead?

 

I went to Target.

My Favorite Place!!

 

This time I got things that I really had to get.  Laundry detergant, diapers, wipes and baby food. 

Baby food that I always drop when I'm at Target.

Yep, the last time I bought baby food at Target, I broke a jar of it.

Then today I did the same thing!  Really, it wasn't my fault because they stack them so horribly, but I still felt bad just the same!

 

After Target, I went to the grocery store where I proceeded to spend more money and stock up on food that will only last a good week or so in our house.

More baby food (very small selection at Target) and food for dinner tonight... That didn't get made!!

 

Yep, we were supposed to have Taco's tonight, but that didn't happen.

Me being the blondie that I am, I didn't realize that we didn't have any refried beans at home (we usually have 2 cans or so) and when I went to start making dinner, I realized and blew off the idea of making dinner!

So Rowan and I went to "Jack in the Box" and got some unhealthy food :)

But it was oh-so-yummy.

I'll have to be really good from now on...

 

Well Friends, I'm going to go watch "Hocus Pocus" with Rowan.  I love that movie :)  I really need to find it on DVD!

~What a Day~

The kids and I just finished dinner.

Rowan and I had left over Chinese food brought home by my parents from their trip over to my grandparents in the bay area.

Let me tell you, there is nothing like Bay Area Chinese food. 

Zach had Spring Garden Vegetable and Barley with a dessert of Banana Oatmeal Peach (such weird combos, huh?).  He is currently screeching in his high chair.  I'm not sure if he wants more- Piggy Boy- or just wants to be out of the chair :)

I'm guessing it was the latter because he is now crawling happily all over the floor ;)

 

Anyways...

 

Today I took the kiddos to Picture People to get their Halloween/Fall pics taken.  First of all, Picture People are doing their pics different now.  Everything is now digital.  No more waiting an hour for your pictures!!  How awesome is that?

Second, their pictures turned out extremely cute... If I do say so myself.  I will either have to scan them or take pictures of them to share with you at a later time.

But just know, they are too cute.  I can't believe how my children are such Photo Hogs.  They both smiled and smiled... No having to beg them and what not.  Oh I can't wait to show them to you!

I guess we will all have to wait, huh?

 

Oh yes.  I just had to spoil my little girl today while we were at the mall.

I swear, she puts the Mall and Build-A-Bear together... Like they are the same thing or something.  Well, because she was so good this afternoon at the photo place, I decided to take her over there to get an outfit for one of her bears.

Well, they had their Halloween "costumes" out and one just happened to be Snow White- what she is being for Halloween.  So I told her she could get it... And then she talked me into getting a bear too :)

We just got the plain white bear- one of the cheapiest- and the outfit.  But boy was she happy.  I have a feeling that this one will be her Favorite for a while.

Tomorrow we (the kids and I) were supposed to go see my niece cheerlead in Atwater (about 40mins South of us) but I'm not sure if we'll be making it.  The weather is supposed to be taking a nasty turn tonight and it is supposed to be in the low 70's with rain!

I've so been waiting for the rain, but it kinda puts a damper on going and seeing her cheerlead.

We (the kiddos and me- again!!) will probably go and see Derek do a dog demonstration tomorrow morning though.  I guess he was talked into doing it by the Chief and he couldn't say No.  I'll only go if he is able to find a Catcher- someone who allows the dog to bite them while in the protective suit.  If he isn't doing that, then it isn't really fun :)

Oh yes.  I guess Derek and the other handler will be doing a demonstration at Rowan's preschool on the 28th.  You know I'll be there taking pictures and everything!!

 

Speaking of Ro's preschool... Rowan's preschool is going to the local Pumpkin Patch on Thursday.  I am so excited for her, she should really enjoy it.

Yet the sucky thing is is because it is on a Thursday, a day she doesn't normally go to school on, she has to be taken there by a parent (Derek).  Sucky huh?  I guess because they are already full with the students that go to school on Thursday, they don't have room for her!  Oh well.  Derek will enjoy taking her... And I already told him he had to take pictures and lots of them!!!

Well, I'm going to go watch "Ghost Whisperer" and then "Grease" after that.  There is nothing on tonight and I'm kinda irritated :{

~Smiles Do Wonders~

Sometimes, the smiles of your little ones can do your heart wonders.

As I walked into my home this afternoon, I was greeted by my father who was holding my little man- whom just happened to be playing "peek-a-boo" behind the front door, with the help of his Grandpa.

His giggling instantly lifted my spirits.

Funny how that is.

Then Rowan was "nowhere to be found" so I had to follow her giggles to find her.  Of course she was in plain sight, but I had to play along.

When "Mommy Mommy Mommy" was sung out, another weight seemed to be lifted from my funky mood.

I'm trying my darndest to get out of this funk.

I don't know why I'm in it and I keep telling myself that I need to get out of it... And slowly I am... But it is a bit hard.

This evening I've spent on the couch watching all my shows that I had DVR'd this past week.

I'm down "Las Vegas"- can you say Yummy boys- and now "Medium".  I have three days worth of "Days of Our Lives" and "Nip/Tuck" and a few others to catch up on.

I don't think I'll finish watching them this evening, but for sure tomorrow.

I just finished a yummy snack/dinner of a turkey sandwich with whole greek peppers.  Oh those things are my favorite right now!!  I even had some with my lunch today, which happened to be a Ceasar Salad.

Weird huh?

Oh well.  I guess everyone has some funky cravings sometimes...

And quit while you are ahead... I'm not preggo ;)

Well, Zach just finished a half of a jar of each Spring Garden Vegetables and Organic Peaches (Gerber's Tender Harvest).  Last night he had Pasta Primavera and Apple Strawberry for dessert.  Let me tell you, this boy is liking his food!!

But he is cranky now.  Wanting out of the high chair and I have a messy food face boy to clean.  Guess I better do that and tell Rowan to stop throwing carrots to the dog... Weirdo child she is :D

~Finally Had Something Pop into My Head~

I came here twice this morning to the Pickle Journal to make an entry and once I started to type, my mind went blank.

Shit, as I sit here, I feel my brain leaking...

Anyways.

Yesterday didn't get any better for me.  In fact, I'm still in a funk and really can't put my finger on it.

I guess that is just me and my 'dark moods'.

I came home in just enough time to pee and then head back out to take the Tahoe to the dealership for a oil and filter change.  When I jumped in and turned it on, I found that it was on E, well shoot, far past E actually.

So, I had to run to the gas station and I put in about $25 and only got half a tank!  Ugh, piss me off.

Then my mom and I ran over to the dealership, dropped off the Tahoe and then headed off to our nail place.

The chair that I got stuck in for my pedi was broken.  I didn't get a "massage" the whole time I was getting my toes done.  So I just stuck my nose in a magazine and pretended the chair was working its magical fingers on my back :)

After our nail appointment, I returned home to a grumpy husband.

I swear, when he is home with the children, his life ends.

He can't do anything for himself.  He complained that Zach cried the whole time I was gone and that he hadn't been able to get anything done either.  Hmm, funny thing is is that he was able to get dinner on the stove, the house was semi-cleaned and he put up two different Halloween decorations outside.

Yet, he hadn't showered... Eww...

So, his grumpy-ass mood put me further into my dark mood and that is where I was until I went to bed last night.

I was actually thankful when he left at 9pm to go work out.  I didn't have to deal with his grumpy-ass anymore. >(

 

Anyways...

Enough about me bitching about my wonderful husband ;)

Guess how many days until Christmas!

72 days... Can you believe it?

 

Damn, finding that out didn't make my mood any brighter.  What IS my problem??

I guess I just need to find some Me time.  Maybe after the babies go down tonight I'll put my fat ass into a bath and read my Janet Evanovich book that I haven't really broken into.

Yep. That sounds good to me...

And thank god today is my Friday!

My day tomorrow should be pretty good too.  Rowan has school in the morning, so that means Zach and I will have some quiet time together.

Then in the afternoon I am taking the kids to go get their Fall/Halloween pictures taken.  They'll be taking some in their costumes and other in Jeans with Old Navy Halloween shirts that my friend gave them.  I hope they turn out cute...

 

Dodeedoo... my mind is failing me, I swear.

I know I had something else I wanted to mention...

Hmm, hmm...

Oh!

Saturday (if the weather holds out) the kids and I will be going to watch my niece cheerlead.  Its a game that is in the early afternoon and pretty close to home.  So, I think getting us all out of the house and into the nice fresh air will be good!  I just hope it doesn't rain while we are there.

 

Work is pretty steady right now, so I should go get my ass back to it.

Damn, have I used that word a lot in this entry.  Just know, you are lucky this is a Public Journal because I'd be cussing up a storm if I could :)

~I Got Nothing~

Thats right.  I got nothing.

Heck, I really don't have much to say today either.

It seems that my brain has dried up like a grape in the sun.

Eww... Good visual huh?

How weird is it that I really can't think of much to write.

I feel like I bore people with my day-to-day "report" of sorts.

I don't know why I'm saying that... But that is just how I'm feeling right now.  Like I've got nothing 'important' to say.

Hmm, maybe I should span out my reports, er, my entries?

 

Anyways....

 

Rowan's dance class was once again a waste... At least in my eyes.  I know it isn't really a waste because she is having fun... But I just think they could have fun and learn all at the same time, ya know?  Shoot, there is Never a wasted minute in gymnastics class. 

Seriously, they spend at least the first 10 mins of class on the floor "stretching".  Uh huh.  And yesterday, they spent a good 10-15 minutes trying to figure out where the girls should stand and then working on what kind of dance to do and what moves.

By the time they got working on the dance and were doing it for a minute or so, it was time for them put their tap shoes on.  They did tap for a whole ten minutes and then class was over...

Can you tell why I get frustrated?

Maybe I shouldn't, but I do.  Oh well.  Next time I will just take my book and stick my nose in it so that I don't pay attention.  The only reason why I didn't do that this time was because my dad came with us.

 

Oh well...

Life goes on!!

 

Just to let you know, Zachary is back to his old self.  Not only is he crawling up a storm (he is all over the house) but he is liking his food!!  This morning at 5am he had 8 ounces of formula!!  That is the most that he has ever had.

He has also been having two meals of solid (baby food) food each day... Or most days.  And the last two nights he has been sharing my pumpkin pie with me :)  I guess he has the Pickle Family Sweet Tooth too :)

My little boy is getting so big!!

 

Tonight my mom and I are going to get our nails done.  Then hopefully afterwards Derek and I will be taking the kiddos to the pumpkin patch.  I'm not sure if it will work out but we'll try.

If not, there is always next week.  Besides, if we carve the pumpkins they won't go bad before Halloween!!

~Oops, I did it Again~

I don't have much time this morning.

It is a busy busy day at work this morning.  Just two of us in the office today, doing the work of 4.

So, I wanted to take a mini-break and stop in and say hello.

About the title.

I let Zachary sleep in bed again with us last night.

I couldn't help it... And really, I like sleeping with my babies so I didn't mind.  I just was so worn out yesterday that when he got up and fussed and didn't want to go back to sleep in his bed, that I took him to bed.

The only thing is, is that when he sleeps in bed I get a little worried that he might fall off of the bed or will get squished.  So, what I do is basically sleep with my arm under his neck and around him.  Cradle him of sorts.

Well, my shoulders are so jacked up from swimming and water polo that I wake up in extreme pain!  They either "yell" at me or they fall asleep and then "yell" at me after.  Can you say Ouch?

So, Oops I did it again.  I let my little baby boy sleep with me :)

Oh well...

Rowan's gymnastics went really well last night.  My Dad and I both went... So you know she was showing off a little bit.  She loves that class... And I can't believe how much she is excelling.  I look at the "big girls" and hope that she'll enjoy it so much that she'll want to continue and be able to do the things that those girls are doing.  Oh, they amaze me!

Tonight is dance.  Woo Hoo.  She knows it too.  Its funny, we'll go to gym and she'll say something to the fact that she is going "to gym tonight and then dance tomorrow".  Funny stuff she is! 

I just hope they do some more stuff in class today.  I hate to see Rowan looking bored out there... I swear I'm afraid that she'll just come out and say to one of the kids not behaving "Come on.  Get with it!!"

Speaking of Rowan and coming out and doing something...

I was on my way home from work yesterday when I got a call from Derek.  I just barely answer the phone and he informs me that "your daughter gave me a bloody nose".  I was shocked!  Come to find out, he was teaching her one of those UFC moves where the person grabs the other person behind their head and then proceeds to shove the head into their knee.  Well, I guess she was able to do it before he could block her and she got him good enough to make his nose bleed.

I told him that is what he gets for teaching her those things :)  But really, I don't mind that she is learning this stuff... For self-protection and all... But I just don't want her to haul off and beat up some kid later down the road in school because they pissed her off.  I guess we'll just have to keep instilling in her that it is only for protection and for playing with Daddy!

And that ladies and gentlemen is all I've got!!!

~Me No Likey Mondays~

Me no wanna be here today...

Me no likey Mondays at all.

But because I have to be here, I thought I'd share some pictures with you guys.

The first are of Zach doing some naked crawling.  You can't see anything, but I did try to get a booty shot.  I wasn't able to because my battery was dying, but my mom did.  I'll have to have her send it my way when she uploads it...

Zach figured out he can really crawl and get places yesterday.  Mainly that is why I was posting these pictures.  He was all over the house yesterday.  Pulling up on things and following his sister around.  It was too cute!

He is also feeling much better.  He has gotten his appeatite back and is sleeping a lot better too.  The only thing is is that he is really gassy.  Like bad!!  I have been giving him baby gas meds, but thats about all I can do.

Well, there are the pictures.  I still haven't tried to get pictures of her in the class, I'm not sure if they'll come out.  But I do hope to maybe sneak in next class- if the teachers let me- to take some!

So my Sunday was nice and quiet... Just how I like them.  We spent part of the day watching Football- of course- and then just relaxing.

Rowan went with my parents to see their house and how fair along it is... So, for a while it was just Zachary and I (Derek was napping).  So he and I went into town to pick up his heart meds.  Of course they didn't give me the big bottle like I requested and now I'll have to go back in a week or so and get it refilled again!  Oh well.  The lady working there told me to call next time and ask for her and she'll see what she can do... Good thing too.  It gets annoying going there so many times a month.  I'm suprised they don't know me by name by now ;)

After my parents and Rowan got home yesterday, Rowan and I went outside and washed our PT.  It was so so so dirty.  I drive in the country to work and we only live about a block from theorchards-where they are harvesting- so my car was nasty.

Rowan quit about a quarter way into it... lol.  She just wanted to play with the water hose.  Just like any three year old I suppose :) 

We also got some suprising news yesterday from my brother and his fiance about their wedding.  See, they were originally planning on getting married in a Catholic Church (she is catholic) and having a reception some where in the Bay Area.  Well, they called yesterday to inform us that they will be now getting married in HAWAII!!!!

So I guess we will have to start saving now for the trip there.  But hey, what a good excuse to go to Hawaii though, huh?  I have been to Hawaii for my high school graduation trip, but the rest of my family hasn't.  Oh I can't wait... I just hope they don't go and change their mind though!  I wanna go to Hawaii!!

Well I need to run.

I hope everyone has a great Monday... I know I will.  Rowan has gym and mom is making a Yummy Dinner tonight :)

There went the timer.

I'm officially done.

This goose is cooked, let me tell you.

I even had about an hour nap on the couch today but I could so go to sleep right now.

I guess all the stress and the lack of sleep from the last few days is really kicking me in the arse.

Oh well.  I guess that all comes with being a Mommy, right?

Right.

So no more complaining, okay?

Well, shite, maybe some later down the road, but no more today :D

Today was actually good.

My nieces were on their best behaviors and we had a good time.  We spent a good hour outside playing and just enjoying the lovely weather.

Then once Miss Rowan started to misbehave- yes, she gets awful when she is tired- she went to take a nap.

That is when the rest of us crashed out on the couches!

Ah, bliss I tell you.

The bliss lasted a good hour until my damn dogs decided that they'd bark to the door bell ringing... the door bell that was ringing ON THE TV!!!!  Ugh, Crazy Mutts I tell you!!

After a while, we all loaded up into the car and I had to take my oldest niece to her Youth Football game, where she is a cheerleader.  The silly thing wanted me to take her at 5pm when she didn't have to be there until 715!!  She has found that she likes boys :)  She is too cute... Much older than her 13 years, I swear.

Once we dropped her off, the kiddos (Rowan, Zach and my other niece Jess) went to Target...

Goodness, do I love that place.

I didn't have to get anything, but I wanted to waste some time and obviously some money... lol... So we went.

We ended up walking out with a Giant Jack-o-Lantern, a bag of Candy Corn and Peanut Butter M & M's, a book for my niece and one for me (Janet Evanovich's "One for the Money") , a movie for Ro ("Alice in Wonderland") and a movie for Derek and me ("Family Guy"), three pairs of slippers- two for me ($5.99 each what a steal!!) and one for Rowan, and then two puzzles for my puzzle loving daughter!!

Am I crazy or what?  I didn't need anything in Target and I came out with all of that!!!

Shopping at Target always makes me feel better though... I walk out with a smile each and every time!!

haha, I'm such a goof.

Dinner was El Pollo Loco for me and McDonalds for the girls.  I really enjoy their salads from there.  Very tasty and pretty healthy.

Derek should be home soon.

He had to go to a Stanislaus County Wide SWAT dinner.  He wasn't too keen on going, but because the Sgt had bought tickets and pretty much told him he was going, he went.

Thankfully he didn't want me to go... Those things are so boring and the wives of the other guys from the other SWAT teams are so weird.  Two years ago we went to a dinner and the wives from another SWAT team were calling themselves and each other "SWAT Bitches".  Um, yeah.  Weird huh?

Hey, I'm VERY VERY proud to be the wife of a police officer... But I will NEVER refer to myself as a SWAT Bitch.  Come on now... 

SO anyways, he should be home soon.  And it will be nice having him here.

Tonight I hope to get Zach to sleep in his crib.  He is doing so much better that I want to get him back in there before he gets too used to being in our bed.

Derek has a hard time sleeping when he is in there... He feels like he is going to squish him.  And truthfully, I'm afraid he will too :)  Derek sleeps like a rock and sleeps all over the bed... Shoot, half the time he sleeps on me and doesn't realize it!

Zach still doesn't have too much of an urge for food.  He has had maybe a total of 3 bottles today... When he usually has one every 4-5 hours.  But he did have some Apple Sweet Potato mixed with Oatmeal at lunch... So, I guess he is okay.  He has had plenty of Poopy Diapers (ewww!) and pee diapers... So I know he is getting plenty of fluids.

I just can't wait until he is 100% back to normal... I'd say we are a good 80-85%... But 100% is just around the corner, I know it!!

Well, I think I am going to go watch "Alice in Wonderland" with Rowan, even though I'm not too hot on the movie.  There is just something weird about it :)

Plus, I'm sure you all are tired of hearing me ramble on!!

~Stopping in Real Quick Like~

Okay guys.  Just to let you know, Zachary is doing MUCH better.  He is almost back to his good ol' self if I do say so...

Last night he was able to keep down 2 ounces of formula plus the juic/pedialite combo.  And when he woke up at 2 this morning, he was starving!!

I gave him 4 ounces of formula and I crossed my fingers :)

He did great.  Nothing came up.

He even slept in until 745 this morning!!  Can you say Woo Hoo??

Just a bit ago, he downed almost 6 ounces and really seemed to enjoy it.  Now he is playing on the floor with his sister... Laughing and what not.  Actually trying to pull himself up on the coffee table :X

Because he is in such a great mood, I am able to leave him and get some things done!!  I've already started a load of laundry and am picking up the house now.

Gotta get the house in some order before my nieces (Sis 13 and Jess 10) get here later this morning...

But I really wanted to thank everyone for the well wishes...

I gotta run now.

~Rambling Friday~

You would think because it is Friday, I'd be all excited and have a bunch of stuff to tell you all.

Well, I don't.  Sorry to disappoint you :)

Zachary's Well Baby Check Up went pretty well yesterday afternoon.  He is still weighing in at a good 19lbs and is almost 28 inches long.  The doctor said that his Loosie Goosies were more than likely caused by the antibiotics and because his ears aren't still cleared, she gave him another prescription.  This time for Zithromax (sp?).

She seemed very impressed by how well he is.  Him crawling and having a tooth with another one on the way, she seemed very happy with his progress.

He took his shots like a champ.  Thankfully Rowan was there to distract him after they happened... She made him laugh :)

Unfortunetly, that is where the happiness ends.

A few hours after we were home from the appointment, my mom was giving Zach a bottle of juice.  Well, he didn't seem too interested in it, but was taking sips.  Not 5 mins after he had stopped drinking from the bottle, he threw up.

I really didn't think too much about it.  In fact, I thought of it as more of spitting up than throwing up.  But I was proven wrong because not more than an hour or so later, after a few ounces from a formula bottle, he really threw up.

On me.

All over.

Nice huh??

He also was really lathargic and not acting like himself.  And I'm sure you can guess that I went into panic mode... Oh well.  I don't care. 

He was throwing up and if he couldn't keep him meds down that he had to take later in the evening, he'd have to go to the hospital to get them through an IV.

So, I call the Emergency Number for his doctors office and put in a request for the doctor on call to call us back.  Ironic thing is, his doctor was the doctor on call :)

She called back not 20 mins later and I told her what was up.  She said that more than likely him throwing up had nothing to do with the shots.  That he had probably caught a bug or something.

I told her that I was worried about him and keeping his heart meds down.  She said to not even give him the new antibiotics and to give him fluids via 'eye dropper' every few minutes.  That the main thing was to make sure that he kept his heart meds down.

So, my mom and I gave him apple juice (all I had) every few minutes with an eye dropper and then when it came time to give him his meds, we did it slowly.... Real slowly.

We took about 45 minutes to give him 1.8cc.  We weren't going to take a chance of him throwing it up... And thankfully he didn't.

After that, we went to bed.  He slept really well too until 330 in the morning.  He of course, still having some of the runs, pooped his diaper.  So after I changed him, I gave him some apple juice via dropper.  Well, he was taking to it like he hadn't eaten in a while- which he hadn't- so I thought I'd make him a small bottle.

I made him a 4 ounce bottle and he downed it.  He went to sleep right after and I thought he would be fine.  There I go thinking again...

When Derek got home at 430 that morning, he threw up...

All over the bed.

Thankfully I had a towel down.

SO there went that idea that he was doing better.

Okay, to make a long story a little bit shorter... (I know you are glad!!)

He seems to be doing better now.

All morning and afternoon, he was getting apple juice and pedialite by the dropper.  He must of had a good 4-6 ounces.  After our nap (YES!! I got another Nap!!!) I was able to give him his medicine and he kept it down.

So I because he hadn't thrown up all today, I gave him 2 ounces of formula just a little while ago... Maybe an hour ago or so.

So far and with some luck, it hasn't come back up.

But boy, is my boy cranky!!!

One tired little monster and one sore thing too.  You touch his legs where he got his shots and he screams.

I hope that I'll be able to give him some more formula later and keep him from getting too dehydrated.

Wish us luck that we can get him all better... And SOON!! 

And that I don't go insane!!!

I have to watch my nieces tomorrow too.  Plus I have at least 6 loads of laundry to do... OMG.  Am I crazy or what????

Last night was horrible.

Horrible I say.

If it hadn't been for my wonderful father, I probably would have gone insane!

Let me just say, I can't wait for my poor little Zachary to get off those damned antibiotics!

Not only did Zach have a horrible poopy night but our electricity went out!

At 320 in the morning!!!

Yeah.  I woke up right when it went off too.  Don't know how I did.  But I did.  Do you realize how hard it is to walk around your house when it is pitch black inside AND out?

So, not only did we have to deal with it being dark... But we had to find some way to make sure we were up when we needed to be.  I tried to find the alarm setting on my Nextel (if it has one) but was unable to.  Luckily, Derek remembered he had a battery opperated alarm clock and he set that.

With us all over the place last night, the kids both woke up.  And you know what happened?  We all piled into our bed.  Derek, Rowan, Zach and I.  It was nice and cozy, let me tell you :)  But we all were able to crash out again really easily.

And not 30 minutes later, the electricity came back on... And woke me back up :)

So my night was pretty busy huh?

Let me tell you.  I am looking forward for tomorrow and the possibility of a nap with the kiddies :)  How funny am I?

Anyways, enough of me bitching about how I am so tired all the time!!!

This afternoon Zachary has his 6 month check up appointment.  Yeah, his 6 month one and he is going on 8 months :)  Oh well.  We are going to be a little behind from now on, but at least he is getting in there.  I am going to talk to his doctor about his loosie goosies and what not.  Plus about the fact that he is such a cranky monster.  I know there is probably nothing we can do about that, but at least I can ask!!  I am just dreading him getting his shots.  I hate to see him in such pain... lol.

Anyways, I am going to run.  My mind is foggy and I have tons of things to do before I leave today.  I need to get them done because I have to leave early...
