~I've Been Tagged~

Okay, so a few people have "tagged" me to play this game going around J-land... I bite... I'll play :)

Ok, the game: Name the 5 "weirdest" habits that you have, and then tag 5 other journalers/bloggers to do the same!  The chain continues...

Pickle's 5 "Weirdest" habits...

1.  I usually start my morning out with a Diet Pepsi... It's like my coffee.  Barbie says I need more juice in my diet... But Diet Pepsi is my juice of the morning ;)

2.  If I find a book or an author that I really like reading, I can't put it down.  I will put off everything (besides the kids) to read.  And if there are more than one book by the author, I will continue to read that author until I've read everything they've written.  Like the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich... I've read 10 books in the last 2 months!!

3.  Even if I do my hair in the morning... I promise you it will be pulled up by the end of the day.  My hair is one of those things that gets on my nerves all the time!!  I either love it or hate it...

4.  I can't wear plain socks... Ever.  I hate just basic white or black socks.  Mine have to have something on them.  Funky colors.  Animal print.  A theme... Nothing too quiet I say :)

5.  I bite my finger nails and the skin around them... I've been doing it since I was in pre-school (so my mom says... because one of my teachers bit their nails, I picked up the habit)... I haven't been able to stop for more than a month or so!

Okay, so there you go.  Some of my "Weirdest" habits... Might not be too weird... But its so early in the morning that I'm not thinking straight :)

So, I guess I'm going to tag some people now huh??

1.  Barbie "A Ticket to Ride"

2.  Kathi "A Day in the Life of Me, Take Two" (private)

3.  Bridgett "And then there were Four" (Private)

4.  Jolene "Operation Mommy Blog"

5.  Anyone else that wants to play along!!!

Have a great New Years my friends... Be safe...

Hugs

~Sneaking in at a Quiet Moment~

Just thought I'd stop in when I actually had a quiet moment today.

Rowan is at school and Mr. Z is fast asleep on the couch.  I don't know how long that will last, since he has gotten pretty used to being held while he naps... But I put him down anyhow.

I should be trying to clean up the lovely mess that we call a house.  We still have everything out from Christmas and it isn't getting any better.  Plus, there are loads of laundry to be washed and laundry that has already been washed to be folded.  Ya'll know how much I HATE laundry :)

Yet, I put that off to come here... Aww, what a good journal friend I am!!

LOL...

I ran out this morning to do some errands.  Of course I hit up my favorite store... Target.  Had to get those things that you just have to have to live day by day... You know, like toliet paper and diapers for the kid.

I also picked up some inexpensive snow boots for the kiddies...

Why did I pick up snow boots you ask???

Because on Monday, we all- yes, all 4 memebers of the Pickle Jar- will be heading up to Yosemite National Park!!

My parents will already be there and my bro and his fiance will be coming with us too.  We'll be staying at the Yosemite Lodge over night and playing in the snow!!  How fun!!

So after I pick Ro up from school, I'll be taking her and Zach over to a local sporting goods place to rent some snow bibs... because suprisingly, Target didn't have any!!  Plus, its cheaper to rent those anyhow.

Anways, so yeah.  We'll be spending the 2nd and 3rd day of 2006 in one of the most beautiful places (in my mind) in the state!!  It should be lots of fun and I'll be sure to take plenty of pics to share!

Can you guys believe that tomorrow is the last day of 2005??  Amazing, isn't it?

This year has really flown by and really been a roller coaster ride for our family...

I am going to try to get to do what I'm bumming off of Bridgett... The Year 2005 in Review... Tomorrow... I'm hoping!!

We were invited by my lovely friend Laura of "Adventures in Juggling" to come up to her house for an "New Years Eve Open House"... So, we'll be doing that for a bit and then heading to my BIL and SIL's house to hang out with the rest of the family there later in the evening.

I'm sure we'll be there into the wee-hours of the night... I just hope I can get Mr. Z to sleep and keep him asleep.  Nothing worse than a tired and cranky baby...

So, I hope each and every one of you has a wonderful last two days of 2005 and that you all have a Safe and Sane New Year!!

Speaking of New Year... Did ya'll check out the wonderful side bar graphic that Nae made me??  Isn't she awesome!!!

Well, I need to run... Gotta empty out the back of my car from all those Target bags and then make a list of other things I need to accomplish today... Yeesh, I'm guessing I'm going to be a busy girl!

OH!!  I finished the 10th book by Janet Evanovich last night... It was great.  I am going to read one of her other books, "Manhunt", before I pick up the 11th... Has anyone read "Manhunt"??

Okay, I'm really going now...

~Finally A Christmas Update with PICTURES!!!~

I am here to do my Christmas Update.

I wanted to get it in before the New Year.  I want to borrow an idea from Bridgett (sorry her journal is Private) and start a new tradition of doing a “Year in Review” thing.

Our Christmas was wonderful.

I think I’ve mentioned that before, haven’t I?

We start our Christmas out on Christmas Eve at the in-laws.  We all- all 13 of us- have dinner and open presents at Derek’s oldest brothers house.

After dinner and clean up we opened presents.  Normally, this would take us a good hour to do with all the people.  Yet, this year we did something different.  All the adults drew names of another adult and they bought that person a present.  So, instead of one couple (husband and wife) buying for 6 other adults, they were only buying 2 presents.  Let me tell you, it saved us some cash!!  Plus, because we only had to purchase 2 presents for the adults, we were able to buy them better presents.

Each couple did buy presents for all the kids though.  I swear, my kids got so much it wasn’t even funny.  My in-laws got the kids the cutest Radio Flyer wagon.  It’s the plastic kind with the two seats and buckles for each kid.  It is awesome!  Of course, it was filled with presents for my munchkins.

Both kids got around 3-4 outfits each and of course some really cute toys.  Can you say spoiled??

From our “Secret Santa” Derek and I both got really awesome gifts.  Derek got this Corona bucket filled with Corona’s and peanuts and stuff like that, plus a gift card to Best Buy.  I swear, that is his all-time favorite store!!  From my Secret Santa, I got a SAK purse and then a gift card to Macy’s!  My Secret Santa treated me really great… See, I told you I was spoiled for Christmas… And I haven’t even mentioned what I got from Derek or my parents!

We didn’t get home from their house until around 1030 that night.  Both kiddos were whopped and so were Derek and I.  But of course, we had to stay up a little later than the kiddies so we could take care of some things.

Miss Rowan left Santa some milk and Oreo cookies.  I swear, she was so excited that it took her a good hour to fall asleep!

Thankfully, once she did fall asleep she was out until 815am!!  Can you believe it?  Good thing too, because Derek and I weren’t able to get to bed until after mid-night.  Eek.

Almost at 815am on the dot, Rowan popped her head up from the couch in my room- she was able to sleep there that night- and says, “Mom!  Do you think Santa came yet?”

I just about cracked up when she did that… I had been awake for just a few minutes and told her that I didn’t know and that she should go check.

She jumped out of bed and ran into the front room.  I could hear her “oohing” and “awwing” and talking to Derek (who had been up for a while).  She came running back into the room and was telling me to hurry up and come out there to see what Santa had brought her and her brother.

Mind you, she had sat on Santa’s lap and asked him for a dollhouse and a truck for Zach.

But Santa brought her a Disney Princess Beauty Salon and brought Zachary a Fisher-Price “gym” thing.  She didn’t seem to notice and didn’t say anything either!!  I’m sure once she is older though and understands the concept better, Santa will have to bring her something she asked for.

This year, the kids were spoiled.

Last year, Rowan had maybe three presents under the tree.  She didn’t understand Christmas and because she was getting so much from the rest of the family, Derek and I didn’t find it necessary to buy her lots of presents.

This year we did though.  She got an inflatable bed with the Disney Princesses on it… Disney Princess dress up clothes… a scarf, hat and gloves with the Disney Princess stuff and her name on it… Do you see a theme here with the Disney Princess stuff?

She also got a really cute pair of Vans from Me.  I picked them out myself and Derek had no idea I had got them- because I didn’t want to tell him I shopped at the Van’s store because that would have given away three of his gifts!!  Anywho, the shoes are black with a pink stripe.  Oh so cute.  Yet, she isn’t too hot on them.  Oh well.  She’ll wear them and eventually like them!!

Rowan also got some “make-up” stuff in her stocking and another case full of make-up.  She is such a girlie girl.  So unlike her Mommy at that age.

Zach only got a few gifts from us this year.  He was more interested in the paper and his sister’s gifts to realize he had his own presents.

Santa brought him a 32” teddy bear that is just too darn adorable and then that Fisher-Price gym.  We got him some blue vans and a blue Disney blanket with Nemo on it with Zachary underneath.  It is adorable!  I’m thinking I’m going to eventually do his room in a “Nemo” theme… So that will go perfect.

Around the second present he opened, Zach kinda got the idea of the whole ripping the paper of thing.  I was lucky enough to get a picture of it… Which you’ll see with the rest of the pics too.

Now, to the good stuff… What I got for Christmas!! Lol.

I swear, each year I tell Derek not to go overboard and spend too much money.  And each and every year, he spoils the heck out of me.

This year was nothing different.

My dear husband got me some wonderful presents.  First off, he filled my stocking with socks.  I love socks… not plain socks… But socks with attitude.  Lol.  There was also a gift card from Borders Book Store in there… Because he knows I love to read.  Btw, I’m on book 10 of the Stephanie Plum series from Janet Evanovich!!  Loving the books too…

He also got me the game “Mario Kart” for my Nintendo DS and two movies… “Four Brothers” and “Fantastic Four”- which I just happened to get him too!  Too funny huh?

My “BIG” presents were the best though.  For someone who complains about me having too many Dooney and Bourke purses, he surprised the hell out of me and bought me one!  I think I was so shocked that I scared him into thinking I didn’t like it.  Not true though.  I loved it!

The other present was a Kodak picture station.  Where I just put my Memory Card into it and can print pictures right from it!  Its awesome and the quality of the pictures are amazing!!  I’m surely going to use that… I so want to get some albums started and this is a good way to do it!

Of course, I thought I had spoiled Derek until I got my presents.  He always does that to me.  Shows me up and what not.  Lol.  Oh well.  He liked his gifts… two pairs of Vans and a Vans sweat shirt.  PJ’s and Slippers.  A movie and video game for his Xbox 360.  A Gift Card to Buckle (a store in the mall) and a few other stocking stuffers.  I guess next year I’ll have to work a little harder on spoiling him!

Whew. Am I boring you guys yet with all our goodies.

So, after opening presents and playing with toys… My lovely husband made breakfast for us all… Including my brother who came over.  He had been at my parent’s house (they were in San Francisco the night before) and was lonely so he came over.

Later that afternoon, we headed over to my parent’s house for presents and Christmas dinner.

Santa also made a visit there for Rowan and Zach and this time he left what she had asked for.  She got a Disney Princess (lol.. so much Princess stuff) doll house and Mr. Z got a “My First Truck” truck.

I won’t go into telling you each and everything they got us… But I will say, they spoiled us!!  Like, diamond tennis bracelet for me spoiled… hehe.

I will tell you what we got my parents though.  Back on the 17th, after Derek got home from Monterey, us four and my brother and his fiancĂ© went to the mall to the Picture People and had a group photo done.  It came out so lovely and of course they loved it.  We got a 10x13 for my parents and an 8x10 for my grandparents.

It made my mommy cry. Aww… How sweet huh?

So, yeah, that was our Christmas.  A pretty busy one at that.  I wish it were a little longer than what it was.  It always takes so long to prepare for and then it just goes so quickly!

Oh well, it will be back again in less than 365 days!

Hope you all enjoy the pictures and the very long update!!

Hugs,
~Pickle Jenn~

~Poppin' In~

Just wanted to Pop in and say Hello to you all...

Today Little Man had a cardiologist appointment.

It went really well, although it was a long appointment.

They did a sonogram and an EKG on him today.  I guess they wanted to see how he is progressing...

And he is progressing very well.

His pulmonary vein is still a little constricted- the dr said that had to do with all the work it was doing when he was in SVT.  Yet, the Dr said that more than likely with Zach growing it will grow to open up more.

::Cross your fingers for that one!!::

He is also going to continue to keep him on his meds longer.  Normally they'd start to wean children with SVT off their meds around this age (10-12mons) but because Zach's 'episode' was so bad he'll just "let him grow".

I don't mind.

I don't want my boy coming off those meds before he should and end up back in the hospital... no thank you.

SO all went well at the Cardio!  Yippee!

Rowan has dance tonight.

And she is actually dancing on my computer table at the moment too.  Goodness, I'm a naughty mom aren't I??!!??

Well, I should go get that little dancer of mine dressed- we have to leave in about 25mins or so!!

Hope you all had a wonderful Tuesday...

CHRISTMAS is ONLY 4 days away... And if you Celebrate on CHRISTMAS EVE like we do with our inlaws... it is ONLY 3 days away!!

HUGS and Happy Holidays!

~Are You Ready??~

Quickie Entry for you all...

Things are good in the Pickle Jar.

Friday Derek came home from Monterey.  It was really nice having him home.  Rowan got so excited when he walked in the door.  The Perfect reaction that a little girl should have when she hasn't seen her Daddy in a week :)

I also finished most of my Christmas shopping on Friday.  I have all but 2 presents that I need to pick up.  I finished almost all of my wrapping too... Everything but the stocking stuffers and the presents that haven't been delivered to my house are wrapped!  How about that?

I also went with my mom for a little girl time and got our hair done.  I went a tid-bit darker this time around.  Nothing drastic... I just didn't have her put anymore blonde highlights in... Just more dark ones.  I like it and it looks good for Winter.

Saturday we (Derek and the kids plus me!) went to lunch at an awesome Mexican food place in the town that my parents moved to.  It was so quiet in there and clean.  The food was excellent and came so quickly!!  I don't know if it was because I was starving or what, but it was the best Mexican food I had in a while.

We will surely go back again!!

After our Great Mexican food, we went to my parents house and hung out there for the longest time... None of us doing a single thing!  Just enjoyed the comfy new couches and our time together!!

Sunday was spent vegging-out at home.  Watching Football and sitting by the fire.

It would have been a great day if Derek hadn't had to go back to work... But he did.  So the kids and I had soup for dinner and watched that movie on ABC "Once Upon A Mattress".

It was too cute... I DVR'd it because I knew Ro would like it and she did.

We also got to see Santa Claus come by on our local community fire department rig.  Rowan loved it... She was outside in her robe and PJ's... Waving and saying "HI SANTA!!" and "Merry Christmas".  And he waved back and boomed out a big "HO HO HO... Merrrrry Christmas!!"

It was wonderful to see how excited she was... :)

Well, I need to run...

Hope you all are having a wonderful Monday... And not getting to worried about the fact that Christmas is 6 days away!!

Hugs,
~Pickle Jenn~

~Something In the Genes?~

Thought we'd do some comparison....

    Ro5Aug6Cropped.jpg ZhangingoutCropped.jpg
Rowan at 7 months old                            Zachary at 8 months old

This one isn't as good as the above... but it still shows ya something!!

ZachUpclose3.jpg

Rowan1Resized.jpg
Rowan about 8 mons

Can we say Good Genes???  I don't know if my kids like more like Derek or myself... I really think they are good "combo babies"... But it is uncanny on how much they look alike... minus her green eyes and his blue :)

Okay, Just thought I'd share...

See you all soon...
~Pickles~

~Promises Promises~

This may be a day late and a dollar short...

But I've posted the pics I've been "talking" about :)

I did them with AOL "You've Got Pictures" because I didn't want to deal with resizing them and dealing with Photobucket today.  I have close to the allotted "free" amount on there... So I didn't want to spend time deleting pics there tonight.

Hope you enjoy them... They are pretty self-explanitory with what I've written underneath :)

Gotta go work on cleaning up the house and wrapping presents!!

Hugs,
~Pickles~

Hey guys.

We are home safe and sound from Monterey.

Actually, we got home yesterday afternoon around 2pm with only a little pit stop on the way home for a potty break.

I would have liked to come back with the pictures and updates that I have been promising you all.  Shoot, I won't be surprised if you all call me a liar and never come back to my journal after I tell you that I will not be posting them tonight.

See, my life has been pretty busy the last two days.

My parents officially became home owners again yesterday and are spending their first night in their new home tonight...   So, with them moving out and moving in things have been pushed back a little bit.

See, we all-us adults that is- were using my parents laptop while my home computer was in storage.  Now my home computer is up and running again- thanks Dad!- so I have something to use now!

I am guessing that I'll probably be making a stop back in tomorrow night- after the kiddies are in bed- to make my updates and share those pictures.

Right now, the kids are pretty tired and should be getting to bed soon.  They both haven't had very good sleep or naps the last few days... So they are pretty tired!

Not to mention me... :)   I could sleep for a good 16 hours and probably need to catch up some more!!

So, I hope each and everyone of you had a wonderful weekend, because I did!!!

See you soon...
~Pickle Jenn~

PS.  Christmas is only 12 days away!!!

Long Time No See!!!

Hey all.

I know I've been MIA and I'm sorry about that.

Things have been pretty busy in the Pickle Jar and for me to find time to sit down at the computer and upload the pictures I want to show you (of my hair, of the wedding and Ro's recital) is pretty hard.   I've been trying to be a good girl and limit my AOL time down to my 'break' at work.  So, that is one of the reasons why I haven't done much than comment in people's J's.

Also, my family is keeping me pretty darn busy.

Rowan of course is doing her gymnastics and dance.  She is also coming down with a cold (along with me too!) so we are trying to keep that from hitting her pretty hard.  I guess she is being ran ragged, huh?

Mr. Z is keeping me on my toes.  He is everywhere and into everything.  I swear, he is going to be the death of me :)  He loves to rip paper into shreds and then stick the pieces into his mouth.  He is now tall enough to reach the top of the dinning room table.  In fact, he pulled a christmas decoration down onto his little knoggin' last night.  It didn't hurt him, but he cried because it scared him.

He also went to his 9mon well baby check up yesterday afternoon.  I was suprised to find out that he has only gained an ounce or two.  I guess from him "running" around so much he hasn't put any weight on.  Not like he doesn't eat anything either.  That boy is downing down 8oz at a time and having two "solid" meals a day!  Supposedly he is in the "normal" range for his height (29in) and his weight, so thats good to hear.

We do go to the cardiologist on the 20th too.  I'm excited to hear how he is doing and when he plans on weaning Zach off his meds.  But like I've said before... I don't mind him being on his meds as long as he is healthy.  I don't want him coming off them too soon!!  I'll be scared out of my mind!

Anyways.

We are supposed to be heading down to Monterey tomorrow to go visit Derek.  I hope we can keep that plan... But with Missy Moo not feeling well, I am guessing I'm going to have to play the trip by ear.    I hope we can go.  If we don't, I'm not sure if Derek will come home or not.  Plus, I was looking forward to the trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and seeing Rowan's face!  She has been there before... But it was a while ago when she was younger!

I'd also like to see my husband... and have the kiddos see their daddy!!

In other news...

My parents will be moving out in the next few days!  Yup, everything went well and they got their keys today!  They should be moving in on Monday... if all goes as planned.  They are so excited... But we'll really miss having them with us!

Can you guys believe that Christmas is only 16 days away???  Crazy huh??  It is finally starting to feel like Christmas too.  We have our house decorated and some presents purchased.  I have officially finished shopping for Rowan and Zach.  I have purchased the present for Derek's "Secret Santa" and a present or two for Derek.  I have no idea what else I'll be getting my dear husband.  I told him not to go over a specific amount this year... But I don't know if he'll abide by my rule.  I hope he does... I still have to get presents for my bro and his fiance... my nieces and my "Secret Santa"... plus a little something for my momma too.  Guess I should get my butt into gear, huh?!?!

Oh yeah.

Tomorrow my kiddos are having their Christmas pictures taken.  My grandma purchased Robo a pretty red dress and I went to Target and by saving grace I found an outfit for Zach that matches perfectly!!  Black cords, white shirt and red/black sweater!  Its too cute... So they'll take some pictures in those outfits and some Christmas PJ's that I got from Oldnavy!!  I swear, I can't wait to see how those come out... I'm sure (hoping) they'll be adorable!!

Well, I promise (this time for real...) that when I get back from Monterey (hoping we'll go!! keep your fingers crossed for us!!) I'll post the pictures and do a real good update.

Love you all...

~Exciting Day Tomorrow~

Miss Rowan has a very exciting day tomorrow...

Tomorrow she'll be in her first Dance Recital :)

I don't know if she realizes how many people will be there watching her...

Yet, she did have a good time in rehearsal last night.

Of course putting make-up on her and doing her hair made it all a little more exciting!!

YES!  I'll have my camera...

I PROMISE to share pictures :)

She has two shows tomorrow.  One at 11am and one at 6pm.  I am "helping" for the first show.  I'll be in the library with the kids (and other parents) while the first show is going on.  We won't be able to watch the show- if we wanted to we'd have to pay $7 for a ticket!!  We have to make sure the kids are occupied and what not... So color books and snacks are good things!

We will be attending the 6pm showing though... All of us.  Derek (yippee he has the evening off!!) and me... My parents... Derek's parents... My best friend and the kids' Auntie Amy... And my other good friends M & B.

I am planning on taking pictures apon pictures and possibly having our camcorder up and running too!  Can't miss out on her first recital, ya know??

After the recital we'll all be going out for Pizza... To celebrate our Girl!!

Then Sunday...

Ah... Sunday...

My dear honey is leaving us for 2 weeks!!!

Yup, that is right... Derek is off to school once again.  This time in Monterey!!

He leaves Sunday afternoon and won't return until Friday the 16th!!!

Its okay though.  Because we (the kids and I) will be going to visit him next weekend.  It should be fun... We'll take the kids to the aquarium and I've heard there is a really nice park down there somewhere.  We'll have a good "Family Weekend".

Well, I've gots to run... There is some christmas show coming on that I think Miss Rowan would get a kick out of... And Mr. Z is getting pretty tired...

I'll be back sometime soon with pics... I SO PROMISE!!

Hugs and Smiles...

~Bad Journaler~

Darn.

I'm so a horrible journaler right now.

I can't believe its been almost a week since I posted an entry...

Plus, I haven't been making my normal comments either, although I am reading your journals... Don't think I'm not.  I just haven't been in the whole Journaling/Commenting mood.

Lets see... I need to do a quick update!

Thanksgiving was good.  Lots of yummy food and great company.

The wedding was a blast.  I can't remember the last time I had such a good time... Derek and I both enjoyed ourselves.  I promise I'll post pics soon!  I just have a hard time finding the time to do it!!

The kids are good.

Some how Mr. Z caught a cold and passed it on to my Daddy and I.

Yeah, that made the whole wedding experience fun!  But we are all over it now... So that is a good thing!

The weather here has finally turned towards Winter!!  It is a whole 48 degrees here with wind and rain!!  It hasn't been above 60 degrees since last week... when it went from the 70's to the 50's!!

Well, thats about it for now.

I promise I'll come back sooner than later with a real entry and some of those promised pictures!!

Hugs from the Pickle Girl!!

~Wishing You a Happy Thanksgiving and A Very Busy Weekend~

Well, it has been a few days, hasn't it.

Oops!

Guess life just was a little too busy for me to actually sit down on the computer and get an entry out!

Oh well.  I'll make it up to you all with a pretty decent sized entry today, okay?

First of all... I want to wish each and everyone of you a Happy Thanksgiving!  I love this time of year... The holidays, I mean.  I just wish our weather was more of the "holiday" weather.

We are still in the low 70's during the day, but we do drop down in the 40's at night!  I just wish it would be around 50's all day long.  I love just sitting by the fire with a good book and enjoying the cool weather!

*Just checked the local weather!!  Get this... It is going from 73 today, 72 tomorrow... Then Friday will be 65 degrees, 60 on Saturday (the day of the wedding!!) and then next Tuesday will be 55 degrees!  How about that for major weather jumping??*

Oh well, I'm sure it will come... Just when, who knows!

I slept like caca-doodle-do last night.  Poor Mr. Zachary has a cold (who knows where he got it!!) and he was up a lot last night.

When I went out to the kitchen at 2am to give him some tylonel and gas meds (I didn't know what was up with him, so I was just giving him stuff for an upset belly or for his teeth hurting!) my dad just happened to be up, so he took him from me and sent me back to bed.

Come to find out later... Zach didn't go back to sleep until 330am and then woke up again at 5!  The poor boy is so stuffy and he is actually coughing/choking on the stuff that is running down the back of his throat!

He seemed to be so down this morning when I saw him... He was trying to feel better, as my dad pointed out when Zach was doing rasberries, but you can tell he doesn't feel good!

I just wish there was some kind of medicine to help him out...

Thank goodness for my Daddy... But I do feel bad that my Daddy didn't get any sleep though!

Hmm, what else... What else...

Tomorrow we'll be going to the bay area for Thanksgiving to my grandparents house.  We'll be there all day long... I hope the kids don't go too stir crazy!!  But the food and the company will make up for it!

Then Friday will be spent helping my friend decorate the hall for their reception and then the rehearsal dinner.  I can't wait to see how it comes out because the theme is "Christmas".  There will be Christmas trees around the hall, presents and topiary for centerpieces and other red and silver accents!

Friday night is the rehearsal dinner and then afterwards all the girls in the wedding party will be staying the night at my friend's (the bride) house.  That should be a whole lot of fun... I am planning on bringing brownies and soda and other girls are bringing other stuff.

We're going to have one last Slumber Party I suppose :)

Of course, Saturday is the wedding.  I hope I'll be able to find something cute to do with my hair.  I think I'll just have the gal doing the hair blow it out and straighten it and then pin the front portion back.  Simple yet elegant.  I was going to put it up when it was longer (hehe) but I think that idea will work.

I promise I will take plenty of pictures for you all... Especially my hair that I've been promising to show you!!

Then on Sunday we'll be having another Thanksgiving at my house.

See, Derek works tomorrow so he won't be able to make it to my grandparents.  Plus, the rest of his family went to Disneyland for the holiday.

So, we'll have another one in the afternoon so we can all be together and celebrate!

Should be agood time with some GOOD food!!  His mom is making this Corn Souffle and it is so yummy!  Then we'll have the turkey and mashy potatoes.  The stuffing and the gravy... Oh I can't wait...

Not like we won't have that tomorrow, because we will... But I can't wait to have it another time!!  lol... I'm such a fatty!!

What else... What else...

Hmm, I can't think of anything else... I guess my entry wasn't going to be as long as I thought.  Duh, Jenn :)

So, I'm going to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving again and be on my way...

Hugs,
~Pickle Jenn~

~Good Times~

Oh man.

I'm so full.

The kids and I just got back from dinner at a local Mexican restaurant where we met Derek and two other K-9 officers who were breaking from training for dinner.

Oh it was so good.  I had Fish Tacos with beans and rice.  Yum Yum!

My kiddos were on their best behavior too.  I just love that.  Its almost like you want to go "nanana boo boo, my kids are good in restaurant" to those people who sit in the booth next to you who's kids are outrageous!

Ha! I'm so mean... But seriously.  They were good.  Mr. Z enjoyed some rice and beans off of my plate and Rowan ordered her own dinner... A Quesadilla.  Such a big girl she is.  She loves going and meeting her daddy too... Getting to see him and the doogies.

She was also asked by the other K-9 officer from Derek's pd if she'd like to go to her house to ride horses!!  Ro's eyes brightened up with that question.  I think we'll take her (D's partner) up on the offer too!  I'm sure Rowan would have a blast... I think I would too :)

So dinner was a good ending to a good day.

The kids and I slept in until just about 8am.  I'm really surprised too.  Mr. Z tends to be an early riser, but I guess I played my cards right this morning and he just slept!  I don't mind though.  I was tired!!

Later in the morning we went to the mall with my MIL.  We had a good time shopping for shoes for the kiddies and then my MIL took Rowan to the "Hello Kitty" store.  Oh man.  I think Rowan was in hog heaven there!  All that 'girlie' stuff... lol.

After we picked up some pretzels at the pretzels stand we were off to a local nursery that specializes in Christmas decorations and the Department 56 houses.

Rowan and Zach each got a Christmas Ornament from my MIL too.  Rowan picked out - with a bit of help from me and my MIL- a cute little fairy ballerina, while Zachary got a "Baby's First Christmas" ornament.

After we got home from the mall... We ALL (yes!!! me too!!!) took a nap... a 2 1/2 hour nap!!  I swear, if the phone hadn't rung, we might have slept for longer!  Thank goodness we didn't though... I am still not sure if my kids will be ready and willing to go down when they normally do tonight because of the long nap!!

Oh... I forgot to have Derek take a picture of me today when my hair looked nice... lol.  So I guess I'll have to do it tomorrow.  Sorry :(

Miss Rowan had a good time at her First Big Girl Birthday Party yesterday!  She said she liked the movie and my SIL said she did a good job watching it.  Of course, because she is not even 4 yet, she did have a little bit of a problem towards the end... SIL said Ro was getting a little bored and what not.  But she seemed to like hanging out with the Big Girls.  She kept calling the other girls "Kids".  haha.  I guess she doesn't realize that she was the "kid".

Tomorrow Derek has the day off.  I think we are planning on hanging around the house and watching Football... fun fun... (not).  But hey, at least he'll be home and we'll all be together!!  Maybe the kiddos and I can drag him away from the TV for a little bit tomorrow and make our way down to the local park.

The weather here has been in the mid-70's lately... nothing like Normal November weather... so I'm sure it would be nice to take a walk down there.  Yep, I think we'll be doing that!!

Park!  Here we come!!

Well, I need to go feed my little man a bottle.  He doesn't seem full from the beans and rice... Growing little man I am guessing.

I hope each and everyone of you has a good rest of the weekend... And I HOPE and CROSS MY FINGERS that I'll hear about them next week... (it is still sooo quiet out there in J-land!)

Smiles

~Hey All~

Howdy folks.

My, it is mighty quiet out here in J-land...

My in box is pretty empty... It is making me very sad...

But I did do something today to make me happy!

I went to the hair dresser today!

And I chopped my hair.  It is sooo cute!  I will have to take a picture of it tomorrow (when I'm lookin' better!) to share it with you guys.  Not only did I chop it, but I put some red into it too!

Basically, I told my hair goddess (lol... I swear she works wonders!) to do what she wants and what she knows I'd like!

Boy, does she know.

I just hope I'll be able to get it looking good like she does... lmao... Isn't that how it always is??

So, I'm mucho happy about that... Now, I just hope I can find some cute way to wear it for the wedding next weekend :X

It is mighty quiet in my house right now.

My parents and brother (he drove down from Davis) just left for the L.A. area.  My brother and his hockey team have a tourney down there this weekend.  The poor guys won't get there until about mid-night!  I hope the first game tomorrow isn't too early!

Derek is at work.  I tried to get him to come home "sick"... But the good boy he is won't.  Actually he can't... Thats okay though.  He will be home Sunday all day!!

Mr. Z is on the floor playing with the tub of baby wipes and Ro's putter (for golf) that my parents bought her.  For the most part, he is so good at keeping himself entertained.  I guess I'm lucky that he isn't attached to my hip 24/7...

And my Missy Rowan is at her first Big Girl birthday party.

My dad took her to meet up with my SIL (her Auntie) and he said she was sooo excited.  I am sure when I meet them over at my SIL's house for pizza in a little while I'll hear all about it!

I am sure she had a blast!

Oh, I went to Target today to pick up much needed diapers and formula.  I swear, we were down to 6 diapers in the house and 4 in the diaper bag and a half can of formula.  Well, while I was there, I looked into new bottles for Zach.

See, my little boy is the Fart King.  He always has gas and I've been told that he might be taking in too much air with his bottles.  So at Target I saw these Playtex Ventaire (sp?) that are so different from the "old gerber" bottles.

They are supposedly supposed to cut down on the air intake of the baby and cut down on gas.  I bought two (they are almost $4.50 each!!) and have decided to use those for about a week or so to see how he is.  I hope they help... but if not, those bottles will just be added to the collection of bottles we have and I won't buy anymore :)

Oh man.  I smell something rotten... That can only mean one thing... ewww...

Dirty Stinky Diaper!!

Must run... Hope you all have a fab Friday!!

Hugs,
~Pickle Jenn~

~Well Now~

Well now...

I just had almost my WHOLE entry all typed out... And then my darling daughter came alone and hit the mouse button.

I don't know what happened, but it took me back a page and I lost the whole thing...

Suck!

Anywho.

I'll just give you all the reader's digest version now that I'm short on time...

Sorry about going private.

Something important came up and I figured for that short period, going private would be the best solution.

I took care of what happened and now all is better.

So I am good on that point.

I'm also sad about how this community is crumbling around us.  The support system in J-land is going... going... almost gone!  Don't get me wrong, I don't like the banners either... But I love the community here and I like how the journals are set up.  So I'm not going anywhere.

The kids are good.

Zach is getting more teeth.  This time on the top and they are cutting in real high.  Looks painful.  He doesn't seem to mind too much.  Good thing for tylonel.

Rowan is good.

Going on her first Big Girl birthday party with her cousin to the movies.  They are going to see "Chicken Little".  She'll enjoy herself big time!

Busy weekend ahead.

Hair appointment tomorrow afternoon.  Then nieces birthday celebration in the evening!  Pizza and presents... the only way to go.

Saturday is still up in the air.  My MIL and I might go up to see her brother's new house in the mountains around here.  That should be a good time too.  I love the hills and the kids and I will get to get out of the house and spend some time with her.

Sunday my husband finally has a day off!!  I don't know what we'll do... Most likely stay home... But that will be fun.  Maybe we'll take the kiddos to the park and enjoy the nice weather we are having- it has been in the 70's here!!

Yep, that is about it... The readers digest version of what was lost :(

I hope all is well with everyone out there... Although, it is starting to look a lot like a ghost town, huh Anna??

Hugs and Love,
~Pickle Jenn~

~not private anymore~

I know you all won't get alerts for this entry...I'm sorry you were shut out so quickly.

But I am back... Might be a little different... But I'm back.

I plan on emailing all of you who emailed me to let you all know.

Hugs,

Jenn

>( <--- This is Me... Frustrated!!

Okay dokie artichokie.

I get that the freakin' banners aren't going anywhere.

AOHell doesn't give two cents about us.  Its obvious.  If they had cared any bit at all... They wouldn't have put the banners up on PAYING CUSTOMERS journals.

But what I'm really starting to huff and puff about is that we are having to go through IE to put in entries.

Do you realize how much time we are wasting by having to do that??

The SAVE button is still not working on our journals... So there goes that idea of actually putting an entry in using AOHell.

>(

I'm upset here.  Luckily for AOHell I'm not ever going to be able to figure out HTML, so they don't have to worry about me leaving the journals for some other blog site.

I guess I'll just have to patiently (hahaha... yeah right!!) wait for AOHell to get their heads out of their asses to fix these problems!!

I suppose, if the shite is working right, that I might come back with an entry that isn't all bitching later on... or well, it might be bitching, but just a different kind :)

~The Pissed Off Pickle~

~A Tid-Bit Ticked Off~

(doing this through Internet Explorer!... ugh!!)

Okay.

So at first I had planned to come to my beautiful, banner free- because I pay for my pucking AOL service- journal to spill my guts about what has been going on in my beautiful little head.

Not any more.

And now I'm pissed.

At first, I wasn't too pissed about the banners.

Then I got to thinking about it.

What if I don't like the company that is being advertised on my journal.

And why in the world is AOHell using their PAYING CUSTOMERS to advertise for them??

Then, what pissed me off even more was the fact that I couldn't find ANY buttons.

NO BUTTONS to post an entry.

NO BUTTONS to let you edit your journal... I had planned on changing up my colors, you know, do a little decorating.

But noooo, I couldn't do that...

So while I fummed and waited to do an entry... I got more and more pissed about this and have no desire to do a real entry.

UGH.

I'm thinking I MIGHT be back later...

That is if I don't find some other place to do my bloggin... Because using this Internet Explorer isn't the easiest thing to do!!

FIX THIS CRAP AOHELL!!!

~Moving Furniture~

So, I've decided that I'm not going to bore you all with another Pickle Rant-n-Rave today :)

I'm actually in a pretty good mood... With it being my Day Off and all... lol.

I was able to sleep in an extra hour this morning and woke at 645am to get my dear pickle daughter, Rowan, up and ready for school.

Because I crawled out of bed and I guess I disturbed him, Mr. Z woke up... thankfully in a good mood though.

My Dad being the greatest Grandpa-pa (as Ro calls him) that he is had already started to make Miss Ro breakfast of scrambled eggs, toast and some cling peaches.

Rowan enjoyed her breakfast of eggs and peaches while I snuck a piece of toast in while making her lunch.  I swear, I'm so thankful that my daughter is Not picky at all when it comes to food.

We have a rule in our house (started with my mom) regarding food and new food.  You only have to try it once and if you don't like it, fine don't eat it... You just have to try it.

I always say, "Don't knock it before you try it"... Because you never know if you'll like it until you do try it.  It is so funny to see Rowan try something for the first time, expecting not to like it, and then realizing that she does.

Like with Cheesecake... She frowned upon it until she tried it... Then I couldn't even have the last bite!!  Brat... lol.

So anyways... I have seemed to go off on a tangent!

Furniture in my house has been moving all around lately.

It started yesterday with my parent rearranging and cleaning Ro's room for us.  They figured out a way to get all of her furniture in her room and give her the maximum space to play in.  They also go a bunch of her old clothes and toys put into a box for Goodwill.  Next, we'll be putting up shelves in her room to put the Disney Snow Globes on...

The other furniture that is moving in my house are the dinning room chairs.

Yep, we'll find them all over the dinning/front room area.

How do they move you ask??

Well, my dear son Zachary has found that he can use the chairs as a walker!!  So now he is moving them all about.  I swear, he gets this face like "Look at me... I'm a big boy"... He is proud of himself, that is for sure!

I swear, the next thing we know, he'll be walking on his own :(

Time sure flies when you are having fun... That is for sure!!

Hmm, what else... what else...

Oh yes.

The favor and center pieces that we worked on last night for my friend's wedding came out really nicely.  I think they'll look really good when it comes time for the wedding.

It was nice to just hang out with some girls too... No kids and no husbands :)

I can't wait for tomorrow... :D

Well, Derek is home now with lunch... Yippee!!!  So have a great weekend friends... Hugs to all :)

~Monday Photo Shoot~

Your Monday Photo Shoot: Before and After

Over at By the Way...

Your Monday Photo Shoot: Do "Before and After" photos on any subject you like. The idea is to show change over a bit of time. Some easy ideas would be haircuts, cleaned-up rooms, kittens growing up into cats, and etc. And yes, this means you can dip into your collection of old photos (they certainly qualify as "before").

I thought long and hard about this one... In fact, I'm still not sure if this a good example of a Before and After.  But in our minds and hearts, there was a before and after with Zachary...

Here is a picture of Zachary BEFORE we found out about his heart condition... I know I've posted this pictures before (way back when...) but I think it works for this Photo Shoot:
   RoandZachbefore3-18-05.jpg
See how sickly he looks... Now that I look back at these pictures, it really breaks my heart!!

And here is a picture of Zachary AFTER we got home in April and his little ticker was all better...
   Zach4-8-05.jpg

What a difference huh??

And here is he now... Just a little over a month ago!
ZachPismoBath.jpg  So there you go...

That is my Monday Photo Shoot: Before and After!!

~On With My Life~

And I'm on with my life...

There are so many things going on now and in the near future, that my head is actually spinning.

Rowan had dance class last night.  It went okay.  Her main teacher was coming down with something (Thanks! Like I need you locked up in a windowless room with my daughter so you can give her germs!!) so she let the assistant teach the class. They worked on their dance for the Christmas recital and then proceeded to play "Follow the Leader".  Thankfully they had to do something with dance.

Rowan's Nana (my MIL) showed up at the studio to watch Rowan and visit with Zachary.  Rowan seemed to enjoy having someone besides 'Mom' there watching her.  She is such a ham sometimes, it isn't even funny :)

On the way home, I had Rowan sing "My Humps" by The Blackeyed Peas with me.  She cracks me up, that child.  Yet, she rather sing "Hollarback Girl" by Gwen Steffani :)  So we did that one too.

I swear, we must be a sight.  Singing at the top of our lungs and dancing in our seats.  Unfortunetly, the windows in the back of the Tahoe do have some tint to them... So I'm guessing that the people see me doing this instead of us both... lol.

Derek reminded me today that Christmas is right around the corner.  To be exact, Christmas is 45 days away!!  Ugh, I'm so not in the "Ho Ho Ho" mood lately thanks to our money issues... And of course, the little boy that my husband is, must have "bunches and bunches" of toys under the tree.  He likes to be spoiled, that is for sure!!

I've already cracked down and have gotten Rowan 3 gifts.  That isn't much, but I'm sure there won't be too many more.  She gets spoiled so much by my inlaws (all those presents come home- while the ones she gets from my parents stay at their home) that we don't buy her too many gifts at this age.

I haven't bought anything for Mr. Z yet though.  I'm not too sure what toget a 10 month old (thats how old he'll be at Christmas) really.  I have thought about going out to a really nice baby boutique and find him a really nice blanket.  He loves the blankets that I have on my couches.  They are really soft and have these frilly things hanging off the ends.  If I can find something nice and similiar to that, I'll get it for him and then have "Baby's First Christmas" put on it.  There are some "gym" type things that I have seen from Fisher Price that I might look into.  But does a 10 month old really understand Christmas??  And will he play with the boxes and paper more than the gift??  You know he will :)

::more spinning... more spinning::

Today is my Daddy's birthday.  He is a whole 50 years old.

Happy Birthday Dad... Love you bunches and bunches...

I'd tell you what we are giving him for his birthday, but he reads my journal.  So I don't wanna spoil the Wonderful gift he'll be getting :)

I guess tonight is my last "free" night of the week.

I don't have anything to do but help my Daddy celebrate his birthday.

Tomorrow I have to go and help my friend with her favors for the wedding.  I'm sure I'll be gone for a while.  I'll have to make sure I DVR "Survivor", "CSI" and "The O.C." because I have no idea when I'll be home!  I hope I'm home by 8pm, so I can relieve my parents from their babysitting duties and be able to put my kids to bed myself.

Speaking of kids in their beds...

Rowan is finally sleeping really well in hers and Mr. Z is sleeping really well in Mine :o

Yep, my son has come attached to sleeping in bed with me and napping in someones arms.  Eeek... this is going to be hard to break.

But secretly, I love to have him in bed with me...lol.  The other thing, the napping in the arms, is something that makes life difficult.

Oh oh!  Get this!!

My Husband FINALLY has a evening off!!  An evening off that he'll be spending at home... I'm so excited :)

Friday night Derek will be home with his wife and babes.  I think we'll make a nice dinner and maybe watch a movie or two.  He had mentioned maybe going out on a date, but that isn't going to happen... So staying home and being together is the next best thing!

And of course Saturday is the "WILD NIGHT"... lol.  I'm not sure how WILD it will get, but thankfully I'm going to be able to go out and have some fun.

I think I really need it... What do you think??? lol...

Well, I need to get myself going... I took a long enough break from my work.  Yippee Skippy... Maybe I'll go make myself my bagel now as another distraction... haha!!

Have a Wonderfully Fun HUMP DAY my friends...

~Pickle Jenn~
