~Its Been A Few Days... Lets Catch Up~

Well, its been a few days... So, I thought I'd do some catching up, for You All :D

Hmm, lets see....

Nothing much has really been going on.  We are pretty much staying busy with the kiddos and just adjusting to being a family of 4 now.  Let me tell ya, its an adjustment, trying to get youself and TWO kids ready to go places now.  I've already learned that you need to allow for extra time... lol.

Friday, Rowan, Zachary and I went out to the grocery store.  I know, I know.  Not a big deal, but hey, I was able to get out of the house!  Derek had to do some stuff down at the police department, so it was just the three of us.  Of course I went to Raley's, where I used to work and still know plenty of people there... So, they were happy to finally meet Little Man :D  Let me just tell you, he was a hit... hehe...

But the nice thing about getting out was that I had to find something to wear to go out... And guess what!  I was able to wear non-materinty clothes!!  Can you believe it?  Woo Hoo for Jennifer.  Not even three weeks after having Zachary and I'm out of my stupid maternity clothes... Hey, they might not be my 'normal' sized clothes, but I was happy to wear something besides pants with a panel on them... haha.

Saturday, Rowan and I went to Target and left Mr. Zachary home with his daddy.  It was just a girls day out... And of course, I got Miss Rowan some stuff to spoil her... lol.  Some new sandals and "Wonder Colors" from Crayola.  You know, its those special crayons and paints that work on only certain paper.  She just loves them...

Ssshhh... So do her dad and I ;D  Not only can she not write anywhere she isn't supposed to... But they are fun to play with... hehe.

Also on Saturday night, Derek and I went out on our own.  Yep, we went out with out the kiddos for a while.  Thankfully, my parents were willing to watch the kiddos for a little bit....

I was a little nervous about leaving Zachary.  Not because of his age or what ever, or leaving him with my parents, but because of his 'feedings'... lol.  So, I ended up pumping some food for him (not an easy task for SOME reason!!) in case he got hungry in the hour and a half that Derek I were gone.  Mind you, I fed him at 630pm, dropped him off at my parents house at 7pm... And I was informed that he ate again at 745pm!!  Can you believe that??  I was sooo suprised... But my mom said that he took to the bottle with no problem.  And it was his first time with a bottle too!  Boy, did we luck out.

Luckily, for me (hehe), the party was a bore and I ended up picking up the kiddos just before 9pm.  Derek went off with some of his buddies from work to have a "Boys Night Out" for a little while... So, it was just the kiddies and I at home for the night... I guess I should get used to that feeling because soon enough, Derek will be heading back to work.  It was just weird not having Derek home to help me tuck the kids into bed...

And Miss Rowan is getting a little too used to having her Daddy home with her.  She in fact asked for him this evening... She didn't want me to help her or comfort her... She said, "I want Daddy"... And was very sad when I told her he wasn't home... And when I told her we couldn't call him (due to him being in a meeting) she was even more heartbroken!  Poor baby... I just hope him going back to work doesn't break her heart even worse!!

Well, I have to go finish up making dinner... And I'm trying to watch Extreme Makeover: Home Edition... So, I hope everyone has a great week!!

::Hugs:

It's always an adjustment when Daddy goes back to work after being off for so long.  You are gonna LOVE the Home Edition show tonight.  The little girl reminded me of Rowan actually.  She looks like a little fairy too.  Be ready to cry though, I know I sure did!  Glad you got out with hubby!  Woo-hoo!!  3 weeks after giving birth you are already back into non-maternity clothes AND you were able to have a date night with your husband!  I am VERY impressed woman!!!!  :)
Hugs and love, Lisa

It's the simple things in life we miss..Like the NON maternity clothes!! HAHA..I still remember the first time Ifit into t pair of regular jeans after Tyler..I was going bowling..HAHA...

Two kids IS an adjustment when you have to get everyone AND the baby bag ready...I'm sad to say that i too have problems pumping my milk out..I never could get more than 2 ounces..UGH..But it's good to hear you were able to get some out for another feeding! And I'm so glad that he took the bottle well!! YAY!!

adjusting from one to two for us was hard too. Two to three was the hardest but after that, #4 and #5 were no problem....I guess it is the whole big kids look after the little kids idea. Or maybe it is I have so few brain cells left from gestating and lactating that I don't notice that I am outnumbered.   LOL
You will settle into a routine soon I imagine.
Take care.

As a parent myself, and not too far removed from the "newborn" era, I so get what you are saying here, being nervous and all. And getting out to do things like go to Target, etc., sure do get to be moments now and then, right?

I'm with ya on everything but the "pants with the panel". Although, some weeks, I wouldn't mind a little extra room where my waist used to be.

Have fun! Your journal is always a lift!

I empathize about the 'getting two kids ready' thing.  My gosh...it's a zoo.  But the hardest thing for me is getting MYSELF ready.  If Doug has to work early (i.e.  6 AM), I have to get up with him and shower before the kids wake up.  Otherwise, I'm out of luck.  An autistic child and a newborn just don't do well on there own while mommy freshens up.  LOL

Even taking Parker to his pre-school has become a task...how pathetic is that?  =)

Love,
Bridgett

Little girls LOVE their daddys!  Has she told you she's going to marry him yet?

Jen~ I sent an email too... but I can't get you guys out of my thoughts yet....

I hope you don't mind if I leave a prayer here (not sure of your religious affiliation, delete it if you want to):

Please God~ watch over and keep little Zach safely protected in his mother's arms.  I know sometimes you call your little angels home soon, but Zachary has important work to do here, too.  I do not question your decisions, God... this is a simple request to leave him here with his family on Earth... Bless him so he gets well.....

Amen

Wonderful to finally make it over here to your journal Jennifer!!  I have been so busy this week in Florida with Grandpa in town from Ohio (where we are from) and then his trip to the hospital INSTEAD of going to Disney!!  And then Easter-- whew what a week!!  Isn't it great to fit your non maternity clothes so quickly!! CONGRATS to you!!!!! YAY!!  I know you must be so happy!!

It took me forever with Aaron (I gained like 53 pounds with him and would go into the shakes if I didn't snack every 3 hours with that pregnancy!!).... and Courtney I didn't gain much because she had a girl's appetite-- but then after they went to pre school I collapsed from toddler shock and gained a few --so now I'm dieting again but hopefully for the last time... I'm so close to being done with the whole baby weight gain thing and should be at 4 yrs now later!  We stopped having any more because we have his, hers and ours and when we are all in the same state we have children ranging from 19 to 4-- and you just can't have enough bathrooms when there are 7!  Try finding a vehicle with seatbelts for 8 or 9 in case one or more of the kids want to have a friend over LOL!  And yes, tell me all about that extra time needed to get out the door!  Somedays I would just give up and cancel whatever and wherever we were going.   You would have just died seeing us all get ready for church on a Sunday morning... and at  that time we only had ONE bathroom!  NIGHTMARE!  LOL!!  Four is a nice number!! Very nice number you have there!!  Now we have 5 currently in one house and it is exciting everyday- but now no teenagers to help me or enrage me??!!  LOL!
Hugs,
Lisa
