What Is Started...

... comes to an end.

 

I finished my very first knitting project... a scarf for Rowan.

I can say that I'm a bit disappointed in how it came out... but hey, it was my first job :)

I wanted it to be a bit longer, but I misjudged the length and finished it too soon.

I will have to post a picture soon of it... and of course one with Rowan wearing it...

 

I've already started a new project with a bigger needle size, but with the same yarn. 

I am also trying a different stich... three pural stiches and then three knit stiches... a bit different and bit tougher.

 

I found a lovely yarn store in the same town that my mom lives in and the ladies there were very helpful.

They seemed really happy that I'm starting out on my own accord and they are willing to help with anything I need.

I picked up some really pretty yarn that I will use on my next project - another scarf - and then I think I might be taking some classes from them too...

The girl there said that I really should work on a few scarves and get that knitting down before I try anything bigger - like a lap blanket or one even bigger.

 

I really want to try and get a few scarves done for Christmas gifts... I think they would be enjoyed...

Saturday...

... at the library!!

 

Yup, I think I'm going to take my kids to the library and get them their first Library Cards... and then check out some books!!

 

I can only think they'll enjoy it...

Bullet Entry... Just a Bunch of Ramblings...

Because I've just got a bunch of ramblings, I thought I would do a bullet entry and make it easier on myself... and you... lol

 

*Knitting is going well. Kinda.  lol.  Started a project - a scarf - but ended up losing it.  How?  Well, the knitting needle decided to fall out of the yarn after I had set it down... and well, because I didn't know how to salvage it... I started a new scarf.

*Rowan can't wait to wear her scarf... I made it a bit smaller in the width this time... and its in purple, her favorite cooler.  Hopefully will be done with it by the end of the weekend.

*I can't wait to go out and get some wooden needles and some chunky yarn (Thanks for the advice Jolene) so I can start on a blanket.  That will take a bit more time and work - since I don't know how to piece things together yet.  Will be learning that soon though!

 

*Sunday I started coming down with something... don't know what...but by the time I woke up on Monday morning, I felt like I had been hit by a truck.

*Neck was sore... lymph nodes were swollen... throat was hurting... headache to boot.

*Ended up staying home from work - and slept most of the day. 

 

*Tuesday morning I felt a bit better... but still not 100% great.

*Took Zach to his yearly cardiologist appointment.  He did amazing.  Never thought twice to being hooked up to a bunch of leads or having an Eco done on him.  I'm so proud of him.

*Doctor said Zach is looking great.  Figures he'll grow out of the little problem he has with his pulmonary artery (?) soon... it looks better then last year... and I'm sure it will look better next year when we go again.

 

*Had to take the doggie to the vet yesterday.  She tore herself up by scratching at some hot spots caused by an allergic reaction - she has skin allergies.

*Vet bill = $$$$  Thought I was going to die writing out the check... I guess I really can't complain, 'cause I don't have to take her to the vet often... and if I would have let it go, she probably would have gotten worse.

 

*Biggest Loser is amazing me!!  I can't believe how much weight these people drop... and I can't believe how big of babies the people are sometimes too!!

*They need to realize they are super lucky to be there... and they need to suck it up and shut up... lol.  Just my opinion!!  lol

 

*I can't wait for Fall to really be here... last week the weather was in the 70's... today, its going to be 90!!  Bullshit I tell ya!!  Its freakin' September 26th for God's Sake!!

*I want rain... cool nights and sitting on the couch with a blanket and a fire!!

What Have I Been Doing the Last Few Hours....

Trying to teach myself how to knit... that's what :)

 

I picked up a "How To Knit" book and needles and what nots today at the local craft store...

And I've been learning and practicing how to knit.

 

I be thinking its going to take some time to figure it out... a lot of time actually... lol

 

Maybe, someday after I get it down... I'll be able to make something cute like my good friend Jolene over at One Vintage Housewife.

It's Amazing...

... how children who are supposed to be sick act so healthy ;)

 

I swear, you know your child is sick.  Its been confirmed by doctors and you see the signs... fever, irritability, etc.

 

But it is amazing to me to see some of the energy they still have to put out through the fever and the pain!!

 

Yesterday afternoon, both kids got a bit stir crazy and ended up escaping outside to the front yard - where there daddy was washing his baby, er, I mean truck.

They rode their bikes and tricycles around the court numerous times and even had "races" with the neighbor boys...

I couldn't believe it... I was amazed to see the energy...

 

But let me tell you, they sure crashed hard last night... and this morning they are still home from school and a bit tired...

 

I just wish I had some of their energy... even if it is just the energy they put out while being sick ;)

Could it be???

What are the odds that both of my children have ear infections at the same time???

 

Rowan went to the doctors this afternoon - via her Daddy - and come to find out, she does infact have an ear infection... not to mention a 100 degree fever!!

There were no other signs of being sick either... poor girl!

 

::sigh::

Guess I'll have two babies to take care of this evening...

Just Because I Can...

I wanted to let you know there is 98 days until Christmas!!

 

weee....

 

I know some of you probably want to strangle me now, but just remember I have two beautiful babies at home waiting for me...

 

Speaking of babies...

Zman is feeling a bit better today.  Still has a slight fever and some leakage from his ears.  Hopefully the antibiotic kicks in quick and gets him well.  He's on an antibiotic I've never heard of before... but I guess its something for peds... Sulemuth or something or other... lol.  Just as long as it works - with out any side effects - I don't care what it is!!

 

But poor Rowan came home from school today early.  The office called home - D is there - saying she was in the office complaining about her ear, her stomach and a slight fever (99.6)... and who said Ear Infections aren't contagious ;)

lol.

She has an appointment this afternoon at the doctors... her Daddy is taking her.  I hope it goes well ::crossing fingers::

My Poor Baby...

Boy is a sickie today.

 

We had a really rough night last night... fever and him complaining about his ears.

 

I ended up staying home with him this morning and taking him to the doctors...

He has another Double Ear Infection, the poor baby.

 

I took him to the grocery store after the doctors appointment - and after dropping of his prescription... and the poor thing, he was just out of it!!

I ended up carrying him through out the store - with his limp little body in my arms, I must have been a sight.

 

Keep him in your thoughts for a quick recovery...

Oh yes, also please keep Bridgett and her little man, Parker, in your thoughts as well... he'll be going in for a minor procedure tomorrow...

Happiness in Ten Things:

 

1.  My babies.  No matter how mad they can make me sometimes, one of their silly little grins or their tiny arms going around my neck can sure make my day.

 

 

2.  Finding a book I totally enjoy (and finish in one day) when I hadn’t been looking for one.

 

 

3.  The smell of a new car – or truck in fact.  A 2007 Ford F-150 to be even more exact.

 

 

4.  Losing 12.6lbs.

 

 

5.  The little kisses my husband gives to me when he thinks I'm sleeping.

10. Disneyland... its the Happiest Place on Earth and I'm trying to talk Derek into going there in December... I haven't been successful at it yet.
