Tootie Frutie...

Ok... My journal title subject has nothing to do with my entry... I was just feeling silly!

I got a many of comments about me throwing this bridal shower for my friend alone... I know, it doesn't seem very fair at all to many of you... Actually, to me either.  But when you are "Matron of Honor" (thank you Lisa for the correction... yes, I knew that... but like you said, I feel old hearing that), I guess it is part of your duties to suck it up and take it like a man... Um, woman.

I explained to Kathi in an email that the other bridesmaids aren't really helping her plan the wedding and have not even offered to help me throw either party... I guess they aren't able to afford to help and they assume with my husband having such a 'great paying job' (LOL) that I can afford to do it all.

I guess they don't really realize that I have a house payment, car payment, credit cards, utilites and many other things to pay for... On a police man's pay!  A police man who works in a little town not some big ol' city!  Yes, I do have a job, but that doesn't bring in enough to pay for everything!

So, I have come to the decision that this party will be a simple party.  I'm going to Costco, one of my favorite places to go, and picking up 3 frozen Lasanga's... Some salad and garlic bread.  Easy... tasty... and pretty much the cheapest plan I could come up with.  Luckily, like I mentioned before, my friends mom will be helping me out... Thats a BIG PLUS.

Anywho... Enough of the bridal shower... I'd do it no matter what... She is a great friend who deserves a great party... And that she will get!

Last night was a pretty nice evening... My hubby had training yesterday so he was able to be home last night with us.  We had a wonderful dinner!  Yumm Yumm.  Filet Mignons, baked potatos and steamed carrots!  It was sooo good.  Actually, too good.  I couldn't even finish my food.  LOL.  But boy, did the Princess Rowan whoof down her food.  She even had two helpings of steak and carrots (Rowan sized that is).

Rowan and her Daddy did some swimming last night... Oh man, it was so warm.  It was still like 95 degrees at 530pm.  Ugh, horrible if you ask me!  I was excited to see a Thunderstorm on our forcast for next week.  If the weather people are right, we'll be seeing rain on Wednesday!  WOO HOO.  Just as long as it doesn't rain on Saturday!

Tonight is Gymnastics for Rowan.  If I'm not silly, I'll try to remember to bring my camera and get some pictures of my monkey in action!  But for now, I must go.  Gotta actually do some work to get paid... TTFN

Chairs and Tables... Oh My!

Has any one noticed that things are becoming more and more expensive lately?  I mean, why is it that a gallon of milk costs more than a gallon of gas?  And a since when does a pound of hamburger cost $6??  Um, what in the world?

I've mentioned before that I'm throwing a Bridal Shower for my friend... I am the Maid Of Honor... It is my duty.  So, today, I called the local party rental store to get some prices.

Boy, did they blow my mind!

First, I asked if there was a minimum for delivery.  She told me that there wasn't a minimum of rentals, just a fee... A fee of $75!!!  Uh, okay.  Forget that, I'll just use the truck.  It is there for that reason, right?

So, I go on to ask how much chairs would be.  She gives me the list of chair... Starting from $1.20 to $8! Oh my.  All I want are the plastic white ones... The cheapest please.  So, that is 30 chairs, for $1.20 each.  Lets do the math.  Just to rent the chairs, it is going to be a good $36.

Next was the tables.  I'm going to have about 30 people at the party, so I want the tables to fit 10-12 people at each.  The tables that I want are $11.95 each.  Ok, more math.  3 tables, at $11.95 is another $36.

So, I'm going to fork over around $72 for some table and chairs.  Don't even ask me about stupid table cloths.  They want $13 for one darn piece of linen!  No thanks.  I'll find something else that could work.  Not going to shell out all of my money thank you.

Plus, I still have to pay for all the food and drinks.  Thank God her mom has told me she will help me pay for either the food or drinks.  So, depending on how much I pay for either one, I'll be getting some money back...

Oh, did I also mention that I am throwing the bachelorette party too??? ALONE.  I did ask for people to bring $20 for some 'entertainment' on the invite... but we'll see how many people do that!

Anywho... Enough of my grumbling.

The hubby and Rowan were home yesterday.  They cleaned house and folded laundry.  So that was a plus on my board.  He also took the Princess shopping and bought her a few new things.  Mr. Potato Head and Spidy-man are some new additions to her toy box... LOL.  Welcome home... Hope you get played with more than twice!

Honey is also doing early Christmas shopping.  I'm glad he has an idea of what he wants to get me... Because I have NO IDEA on what I will be getting him.  He wants a Lazy-Boy recliner... But if I were to get him that, that is the only present he'd get!  LOL.

Well, I gotta go and get some stuff done.  I'm really just wanting to leave.  I don't have much to do and would rather be napping at home.  Plus, I can't wait for dinner... Yummy Steak and potatos!  Woo Hoo.

TTFN All

Its been a while...

Well, it has been a while hasn't it.  I've tried to be good and keep up on my duties to leave comments on all my favorite journals... But I've neglected mine.

Our weekend has been very full.  Like I mentioned before, my grandparents were up for a visit and that pretty much demanded most of our time.  We were over there Saturday afternoon through the evening and then they came to see our pool and floor Sunday... And we all were back over my parents for dinner that night too.

Sunday was just a crazy day... We cleaned, cleaned, cleaned and cleaned some more.  It was good to get the whole house cleaned at one time... Instead of working from one room to another in a couple of days.

I will be having a Bridal Shower on the 18th so it will be nice to have the house spick n span for that...

Okay, I took a few pictures this evening of my 'new hair'.  The hair that my husband has yet to get used to... But I secretly think he likes.... These pictures aren't the greatest because I took them myself and I'm pretty tired.  Heck, I'm very tired!

So, with my pleasure... Do I present these pictures of my very tired face and new hair:

Like I've mentioned before, the hair is a little redder than I wanted... And now I've found some really blonde patches... But you all get the gist from the pictures of what I look like... Compared to the picture in "the about me" section.  So tomorrow morning, after my dreaded dentist appointment, I will be calling my very much loved hair lady and asking her if I could be squeezed in before the 18th and have the blonde splotches removed.  She is usually packed and I guess if she can't get me in, I'll survive, but I'll be ready with some answers when I am asked about the blonde ;)

We went to a friend of ours house this evening for a BBQ... But the Princess and I left early... Hey, I was there 2 hours and I can't help it if I don't feel well.  The hubby is still there partyingit up... good for him... he deserves it.  He just better not be waking my butt up when he gets home later this evening ;)

Well, I guess I'll go watch "Wizard of Oz" with the Princess for um, the millionth time.  Hope all had a great Holiday weekend and have a great rest of the week.  TTFN

Done Gone and Did It

I done gone and did it... I dyed my hair!

Its not as dark as I was thinking it would be... but it has plenty of red in it... Plus, with putting it on top of my blonde... It lightened it up a lot.

I will have to put a picture up here... As soon as I get time...

This weekend will be very busy.  My grandparents, Rowan's great-grandparents are coming for a visit (staying at my mom's) and I'm sure I'll be expected to be over there most of the weekend.

So, I'll get the picture up ASAP.

Oh yes, the hubby has asked for his wife back... He is too funny.  He has requested his blonde wife back... I told him he'd get used to it and after a fews shampoo's, it won't be as vibrant.  Oh well, life goes on...

And YES... I do like my hair.  I think it will take me some getting used to... But it is something different and something I definetly needed.

So, until I have time to get back and update with a picture, I hope all have a fab weekend!  TTFN.

Feeling Icky and Wanting a Change...

I really don't feel well this morning.  I'm feeling very icky.  Icky is a good word to discribe the way I feel I think... I won't go into detail, but anyone that has had morning sickness can probably relate.

I was hoping this morning sickness junk would be slowing down or not coming every morning... But no... Every morning this week has been horrible.  I know it is all for a good cause, but it sure can wear someone down.  Ya know?  I don't really recall when I stopped having morning sickness with Princess Rowan... But I'm pretty sure it was somewhere around 16-18 weeks... Hmph.  I guess I got a few more weeks (2-4) before I can start feeling better... Hopefully it will be sooner than later, huh?

So, I mentioned that I wanted a change in my title.  About every other month, I go through this thing that I want to do something different with my hair.  I've been blonde all my life... be it natural, and then later with highlights... So, I really haven't ever been anything but blonde.  I have chopped my hair... Really short too (well, for me it was).

In Junior High and High School my hair was down to the middle of my back... All the way until after I had Rowan it was like that.  I never knew anything different.  While I was pregnant with Rowan, I wanted to chop my hair off pretty badly... But my hair lady was against it.  She didn't want me to do anything while I was pregnant, fearing that it was caused by me being pregnant and going through that "I'm going to have a kid, now I need to chop my hair" stage.  Maybe she was right... I was actually kind of glad she convinced me not to.

But then, when Rowan was about 4 months old... My hair went from the middle of my back to my shoulders.  And by the time Rowan was 8 or 9 months old... It was at my chin!  For someone who was always able to pull their hair up at any given moment... It was sure different.

I've also added more blonde... brown... even red highlights over the last few years.  But recently, I've been wanting to go dark.  My hair is naturally getting darker... And I've mentioned to my hair lady that I would like to try something different... Dark...  She said that I could probably get away with it... And then the other day I saw a picture of Reese Witherspoon's hair and fell in love with it!

So, what do you all think about this??  I'm still not sure if I could actually be anything than blonde... But geeze, it is such a rich pretty color.  And I figure, with my blue eyes, I could maybe pull it off??

Who knows.  I go tomorrow morning at 830am.  I'm going to take the picture along with me and see what my hair lady says.  I know it is drastic... I've always been the "perfect California girl" with blonde hair and blue eyes...  And the hubby loves the blonde hair... But I could really use something different.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see....

Well... I need to go and get some stuff done.  I'll definetly update tomorrow... After our Fantasy Football draft :)

Hope all have a great day... TTFN

Just A Quick Note...

We are thinking about getting a new puppy... Or doggie....

The hubby has been mentioning it a lot lately... And it came up again yesterday.  At first he had been mentioning getting another Rotty, like our Lola Dog.

Then he mentioned something about getting a lab... Be it black, yellow or chocolate.  I'd love to have either one... But a chocolate one would be so pretty.

But, the other day, he mentions something about a dog at the training center that the owner is pondering about.  I guess if the dog doesn't succeed in what she is training to do, she might be up for sale.

This is a picture of her... Its not great, but gives you the idea....

I guess she is 12months old... Is supposedly being trained for dope/drug work... But if she doesn't succeed... We might be bringing her home.  The only probably with her is that she is already 12months old and has an extremely HIGH play drive (which is what is wanted with drug dogs).  So, basically, she has no obedince.  Hmmph.

I'd rather start out with a puppy... But I'd happily bring in this dog if she needed a home.

So, are we crazy?  Do we want another dog?  Which would techincally (sp?) be our third?  We have the Lola dog and Hubby's Tango (who is kenneled most of the time)... Could we survive with a 3rd??

Ugh, I think we are crazy... But who can pass up a cute little face??

Ugh, Traffic Sucks...

So, I guess traffic is the hazards of a commute... No matter how long or short it is.  Yes, it took me FOREVER to get to work again today.  I guess there was a big accident that shut down pretty much both sides of the freeway about 10 miles ahead of my exit I take for work.

So... Instead of these people sitting in traffic... They are taking my exit and heading down the road I take to work to get to where they are going, using various detours.  That is all nice and dandy... I don't mind... But when it takes me 30 minutes to get down a road that usually takes me 10-15 minutes, I get a little annoyed.  Luckily, our 'boss' wasn't going to be in the office at his usual 8am so we didn't get yelled at for not being there at 8am to answer phones... phones that usually don't ring until um, about 820-830am.  UGH...

ANYWHO.... enough of my grumbling!

Yesterday I mentioned that I stayed home and was going to do some things around the house... So, well, yeah... Nothing got done.  I swear, I was having a horrible day.  I felt gross all day... Morning sickness does that to you... And I just couldn't get out of my 'funk'.

The hubby had training all day yesterday... 8-5am... Then after training, he went and signed up for Akedo (sp?)... A type of martial arts.  Um, yeah, don't ask me why... But him and a few buddies did.  So, the hubby didn't return home until 815 last night.  Luckily for him (lol) he brought home food with him!

Of course, since I've been on this Jamba Juice crazy, he was a sweet heart and got one of those for me.  So, that was my dinner last night... A HUGE Citrus Breeze Jamba Juice... And boy, was it yummy.

Oh yeah, the Princess Rowan and I watched "Wizard of Oz" yesterday for a total of 3 times!!!  OMG.  Then, she wanted to take it to her YaYa's this morning... I happily let her ;)  Have fun watching "Rainbow" YaYa :)

Well, I've got plenty of stuff to catch up on today.  Hope all have a wonderful Wednesday!  TTFN
