Here's how it works: It's just the little annoyances that we don't really think about when asked, and maybe not  often enough be called Pet Peeves, but make us groan and shake our heads when they happen.  List as many or as few as you want.

 

* People who exaggerate or make a story 3x what it truly is... come on... stop trying so damned hard...

 

* I hate how I feel after sleeping all night with the air conditioner on... I hate feeling all stuffed up and puffy... why can't I have a decent nights sleep even with the air on!?!

 

* The fact that money doesn't grow on trees pisses me off... ha!

 

* Feeling like no matter what you do sometimes is just not good enough.

 

* Having cramps and a period... after just having one last week!!  ::damn IUD::

 

* The fact that I'm tired... and I shouldn't be.

Proof that Men Do Not Listen...

Early today, my hubby calls while I'm having my lunch at my desk....

 

He goes, "So, this is your second week of WW, right?"

 

"Yup" I replied.

 

"And last week you lost .2 lbs huh?"

 

"Umm, no, I didn't," I responded.  "I lost 5.2lbs."

 

He goes on to say that he could have sworn that I had I had told him that I had lost only .2lbs and he couldn't figure out why I had been so happy about it!!

 

I said to him, "See, this is proof that you really don't listen to what I say!"

 

And he says, "No, you just called me while I was playing video games and I couldn't hear you."

 

Uh huh.

Sure he couldn't...

Seriously, I just had a telemarketer call me a BITCH!!!

 

Just because I asked him to take us off their mailing list!!

Dinner With My Hubby...

So, Derek and I went on a little dinner date last night...

Just him and I.

Can you say weird?!

 

I really can't remember the last time it was just him and I at a restaurant!!

 

It was nice to not have to worry about keeping the kids occupied... or keeping them quiet and contained!!  :o)

 

We were actually able to have Adult Conversation... lol.  Actually, we played "Who Wants to Be a Millionare" on Derek's cell phone!!  LMAO!  It was fun though... and I guess that is all that matters about being on a 'date', right?

 

Anyways, we went to a new restaurant in the town over... Its called, Uno Chicago Grill... I guess they are pretty well known... and known for their Deep Dish Pizzas.

 

I can say that it was pretty tasty food... And I did alright with my Weight Watchers Points...

So, if you have one around you... and you haven't been... try it out!!!

*Men... For many reasons... mainly my dear husband these last few days... we just aren't ::clicking::  Stress is to blame, I believe... I love him to death... but I think I could ring his neck... ha!

 

*The "Good" Foods not being good for you... ::by the way, I lost 5.2lbs in the first week of WW::

 

*Cat litter on the floor... Don't ask me why!!!  It always manages to escape where it is supposed to stay!!

 

*My kids being monsters :(  It frustrates me when they are perfectly fine at home... but when we get somewhere... they misbehave!!

 

*Colds or Allergies... what ever is killing me and making me have green gunk ::TMI??::

 

Okay, there you go... Have fun!!

A Funny...

My daughter comes up to me, telling me she can speak Spanish.

 

It wouldn't surprise me if she could actually... being that my father speaks it and sometimes "talks" to the kiddos in Spanish (no, he is not Hispanic... but he has studied it and will be traveling to Guatemala for a 2 week emersion) and being we live in Central California, where there is a lot of Farm Work... I'm sure she could have picked it up some where...

 

Also, one of her favorite movies (High School Musical) has a part where one of the main characters speaks a bit of Spanish...

 

Wow, any ways... that was rambling...

 

Okay, so she comes up to me, telling me that she can speak Spanish...

And she just starts mumbling and rambling on... gibbersh... lol.  But she was so insitant that she was speaking Spanish, I couldn't help but agree that yes, she was!!

 

::sigh::

 

Now what do I do if she decides to "speak Spanish" out in public??  Oh god.

I'm Doing It...

I'm on track for a healthier life style.

 

Today, my mom and I signed up for Weight Watchers.

 

I had really good results when I did it before I got pregnant with Zachary...

 

So, I'm hoping I get even better results with the hard work and dedication this time around...

 

I start Counting Points tomorrow...

*Making a dinner... and then sitting down to it and finding yourself not hungry!

 

*Children that don't understand NO the first time around... ::sigh::

 

*Cars that pass you because the car infront of you is going slow... right after you turn your signal on to pass that car!! *puckers*

 

*People that continue to talk or argue over you trying to talk to them!

 

*Finding that the person in the bathroom before you used the last bit of the toilet paper and didn't replace the roll.

 

*Realizing there is no such thing as a Money Tree ::damn::

 

Okay, play along if you wish... It actually helps release the tension... although it doesn't compare to a body massage :)

Thankful Thursday...

Well, it might be almost 9pm... and it is still Thursday... so I thought I'd get my Thankful Thursday in now...

 

*I'm thankful that my daughter is not allergic to bee/yellow jacket stings.  She got stung by a Yellow Jacket yesterday evening while in the pool... although it hurt her... she isn't allergic, so it makes it somewhat okay.

 

*I'm thankful for the bag of chocolate candy that I have in front of me... sometimes, I think chocolate is equal to a tranquilizer... all calming and such.

 

*I'm thankful for my family... spending the day with my parents, In laws and children (but missing Derek- since he was working) was great.  To know you have so many people loving you is the best feeling in the world.

 

*I'm grateful for my "escapes"... books and the computer... And for my "Me" time in the evenings!!  I guess I never realized what I was missing before :)

 

*I'm thankful for the pool I have in the backyard... 'cause living with this 108 degree weather is hard... but having the pool helps out tons!!

 

Okay, there it is... My Thankful Thursday :)

Aaaah, Much Better...

I'm doing much better now.

 

Don't know what was going on with me this morning, but everything was bugging the hell out of me!!

 

Thankfully, it didn't last too long... although, I'm afraid my patience isn't as thick as it usually is...

And thank goodness the kiddos will be heading to bed in about an hour and a half... lol.

 

So, tomorrow is July 4th.  I hope everyone will be having some kind of fun... but be safe while you do it!!

The kids and I will be going over to my parents house tomorrow afternoon for a BBQ with them, as well as my in laws... Unfortunately, Derek has to work tomorrow... so he won't be able to participate in the festivities...

We will miss him though.

I'm sure he'll have a busy enough evening to make up for it though... between drunks, fights, illegal fireworks and possible fires (he loves to go to those), he'll be plenty busy!!!

 

Anyways, about the BBQ.

Mom is making Gourmet Hamburgers. 

Gourmet you ask?? 

Well, she is making these burgers that have some kind of lovely cheese in them...

Then she is providing all kinds of wonderful toppings like bacon, guacamole, different cheeses... all the goodies, ya know?!

Then we'll be having potato salad, fruit salad, hash brown casserole which my MIL makes... omg... It is SOOO tasty!!  Not to mention dessert and what not...

Can you tell I'm ready for the food?!?!

 

Oh, speaking of food.

I took out a pound of hamburger last night and put it in the fridge to defrost...

Well, I come home today to find it still pretty much frozen!!

We were going to have Hamburger Helper... but now that has changed.  The kids (well, Rowan, since Zach hasn't touched his) had scrambled eggs and toast... And me, I'm having a egg salad sandwich...

YUMMO!

 

Well, my eggs just beeped.  Time to pull them off the stove.

The Weekend is Gone... Here Comes Monday...

This weekend went by like a blur for me.

All day Friday and part of Saturday, we prepared for a BBQ that we were having.

Cleaning.

Grocery Shopping.

Cleaning some more.

So much work goes into having a party for our friends... and then when it is over, we are left with what we had before we started cleaning... lol

 

We did have a blast though...

About 24 people (inlcuding us) were here... we BBQ'd tri-tips... had fried rice... two different salads... green beans and bacon... artichoke and bean dip...

Oh So Much Good Food...

Not to mention the Mojitos that we had... YUMMO!!

 

We partied from about 6pm until close to 12am... all of the kids that were here crashed in the front room while watching a movie... while the adults chatted it up outside around the fire pit :)

 

Basically, today was spent recovering...

Derek played a bit of XBox...

I read the new book by Janet Evanovich... "Lean Mean Thirteen"... it was pretty good... similar to her other ones... but entertaining still.

 

We also swam this evening...

After the kids and Derek got out, I did some laps and then some water polo excersises...

WOW... I'm beat now.

I think that once Derek goes to day shift (on July 10th- 6am-5pm) that since he'll be home in the evenings, I'll take that opportunity to swim for about an hour or so at night... Good excersise!!!

 

Now I'm beat though... Ready for bed :)

Speaking of which... I hear poor Rowan in her room... Coughing like she swallowed another damn Frog. 

I swear, she gets a damned croupy cough every few months or so... I wish I could figure out why!!!

 

Okay...

I'm off to go reread the 6th book of Harry Potter in preperation of the new one out later this month...
