Can you guess what he dropped off???
Yup, my Disneyland packet!!!
Woo Freakin' Hoo...
I simply can not wait...

Potty training for a 14 month old sounds kinda early right?
What if this 14 month old has already gone pee 3 times in the potty and poopies twice?
Yes, I'm talking about Zachary... can you believe it?
The first time he went pee on the toilet, I thought it was just a coincidence.
His sister was going to the potty and he followed us in... he was pulling up on his shirt and pulling down at his pants/diaper at the same time.
So, just being me, I took his pants and diaper off and put him on the toilet. You can say I was shocked to see him actually tinkle.
He seemed so proud of himself that he did it. Both Rowan and I were saying "Yay Zachary... you went potty on the toilet"... and he had this big smile and then reached over to the toilet paper, ripped a piece off and tried to wipe... pretty neat huh?
So, the other night before his bath... I took his diaper off and put him on the toilet and nothing. No big deal... he is 14 months old. I told him he was a good boy for trying and that was it.
Then night before last (Wednesday night) I was getting him ready for his bath again and he went over to the toilet, pulled up his shirt and tried to pull his pants down.
I put him on the toilet... I'm going to take that shirt and pants pulling as a sign I said to myself... and he proceeded to grunt. I laughed because I thought it was him just playing...
Until there was some poop (sorry to be graphic!) in the toilet... then I was amazed!!!
So yeah, he went pee and poop that night.
Wow I said... what another interesting coincidence.
Then just right now, I was getting him ready to go pick up his sister from school and I said to him... "lets go pee-pee big boy"... and what does he do? He walks to the bathroom.
I take his diaper off and put him on the toilet and the next thing I know he is grunting...
Needless to say, he has peed on the toilet 3 times and pooped twice...
We are all surprised by this... he is 14mons old.
So, I've made the decision to do pre-potty training of sorts. Basically, when sister goes potty... I'll take him in there... when I go... I might take him... when its bath time I'll do it then too. Just to get the idea in his head.
I even bought a potty seat cover today at Target so he feels more comfortable up there.
Could it be that this little guy is really ready for potty training?
I don't know... but it is worth the try, right?
I've been up since 630am...
I noticed my eye-lid twitching right then...
And it will go away and then come back again...
but...
It is now 10am.
When should it stop for reals???
Its beginning to bug me :(
Have a Happy Friday Friends...
I'm off to clean house and get ready for my honey to be home!!
Hugs,
Jenn
Nah, no ramblings here...
I think I'll actually be able to stick to a few topics and easily transition to each one...
No ramblings for Pickles :)
My husband is gone.
He has been since Saturday night.
He won't be home until Friday afternoon. Probably pretty late in the afternoon.
I'm sure he is having a great time out in Area 51 with all of his guy friends... but this wife misses her husband.
I miss him when he works days on end. Yes. But this missing is different than that kind of missing. I guess it is something to do with the fact he isn't any where near home... and that I haven't talked to him since Monday night.
See, there is no cellular service out in the desert... so he has been calling me collect. We decided not to talk last night... because it is pretty expensive to talk collect. I do hope he calls tonight though.
I could use the adult talk... and if that adult talk is with him, that makes it even better!!
Well, enough of me whining about missing my husband... I've got kids to keep me busy with my time :)
Speaking of kids...
Ms. Rowan has her first dentist appointment tomorrow afternoon. She seems pretty excited about it. Maybe a little nervous... but more excited than nervous.
I'm a little nervous for her too though. I have been trying to "play up" the dentist... so she doesn't freak out when it comes time to have the doctor check her out... I have a feeling she'll be just fine though.
Tomorrow after her appointment, my mom, Rowan and I will be going to the mall and doing a bit of shopping.
I'm going to get a new outfit or two (depending on how much things cost) for my trip to Disneyland and for my SIL's baby shower.
I also am probably going to reward Rowan for being a good girl (if she is) at the dentist and get her some new sandals or a Build-a-Bear. I'm sure she'll like to get spoiled too :)
Well, my honey just called.
Yippee... I'm going to go talk to him for the few minutes I can!!
I hope I didn't ramble on too much.
See you all later!
~Pickles~
This is Daniel...
Daniel is the son of Laura from Adventures in Juggling.
Tomorrow he is going in for surgery to remove his G-tube that he has had for a while now.
Please keep him in your thoughts and stop by to give your best wishes... I know I will.
Also, please stop by Nae's journal and let her know that you are thinking about her.
They had a scare with her Poppy today... and well, after the passing of her Grammie, I'm sure she could use some well wishes and love.
Hugs to You all,
~Pickle Jenn~

I couldn't think of one specific thing that I wanted to talk about to make it the title of my entry... so, I guess because I'll more than likely be rambling, that is why I chose that title.
Goodness, that paragraph was a ramble in itself!!
Forgive me. My head is still foggy from being sick and I'm completely tired. No matter what time I go to bed at night- 9pm the other night- I wake up still tired and yawn all day long.
I'm also not used to working today... I'm usually off on Fridays.
Where to begin my rambles?
Lets see.
Tuesday night, my dear husband sliced a big ol' chunk out of his thumb while slicing potatoes for his dinner.
Can you say Ouch?
It didn't stop bleeding until he went to the doctors on Wednesday. They cartarized it and it is still bleeding a bit.
I told him that he can now commit a crime only using that thumb because he has no pad on his finger... which means no thumb print. Alas, I am only joking... so don't go and get your panties in a wad, okay?
My dear husband also leaves on Sunday for a "Guy's Trip" to Area 51. He'll be gone until Friday... I'll miss him :( Yet, I know he'll have fun... so that makes it a little better.
Now, for me to find a "Girl's Trip" to go on sometime soon... lol.
Oh wait, that is what San Diego is all about!!!
Which, by the way, is still in the works. I'm determined to get down there... hell or high water...
Rambling Rambling... I know.
I don't know what I'm going to do with my two days off this weekend. I'm really used to having my three. Sad huh?
I do know that I have to clean Rowan's room. How does a 4 year old trash their rooms so much? She does know how to clean it though... which she started to the other night. But once it gets to a certain dirtiness... Mommy has to step in. Shoot, my mommy had to step in and clean my room for a long time after I was 4!!!
I can't clean. Really. It overwhelms me. So, more than likely, it will take me a good 2 hours or more to clean Ro's room when it probably wouldn't take someone else that much. I just go from one thing to another... never really staying on one part of the room.
When I clean my house... I bounce from living room, kitchen, to the living room again... to the dining room... the kitchen... ah, shoot, you get the point.
The last time I did a major cleaning of my house, my mom had to literally walk me through the process. Look at what needs to be done in one room and do it. Don't wonder to another room. Take it step by step.
Overwhelming.
Hmm, what else can I ramble on about.
Oh, Rowan has her first Dentist appointment on the 27th. She had been complaining that one of her molars hurt... and because she is 4... I figured it was time to get her in.
So I called my dentist... the one I've been seeing since I was 7... to see if he'd see her and the receptionist told me that she was too young for him to see. Oh well... So now we are going to go see a pediatric dentist. I'm sure that will be a whole lot easier on her too.
She keeps talking about going... so I don't think she is too nervous. I keep telling her that the doctor will be looking in her mouth at her teeth and taking pictures called X-rays with this big machine. She asked if it would hurt... All I said was No. You don't want to try to explain to a 4 year old that it might hurt... let her find out then ;) Nah, I'll be there holding her hand... so she'll be good.
Only 24 more days until I go to Disneyland. I had an awful dream that when we got there, they told us that we didn't have a reservation or anything. I was even holding our confirmation letter... but no, no reservation. We had to leave the premisses right then and there. Weird dream, really.
Maybe I'm worried about not getting our stuff from them. I guess we are supposed to receive our tickets and confirmation stuff (another confirmation letter) 21 days before our arrival date. I'm sure you'll be guessing that I'll be calling someone if I don't get that stuff with in 20 days of our arrival ;)
Okay, I've gone and done enough rambling. Things to do too, ya know?
Plus, I'm done eating my lunch... yum!!
Have a great weekend all.
~Jenn~
Real Fact #42 presented by Snapple
"Frogs can't swallow with their eyes open"
Wow, isn't that weird? Maybe its just like us not being able to sneeze with our eyes open?

Okay, so I see lots of people doing the Thursday Thirteen around here and the rest of Blogland...
Laura does it every week... never fails... and always comes up with really great themes.
Anna just tried it for the first time this week...
So, I'm taking a cue from Anna and going to take a stab at the Thursday Thirteen myself.
The purpose of the Thursday Thirteen is to get to know the other players more and more each week by them doing these lists of thirteen things about themselves...
Well, since I'm highly anticipating my trip to Disneyland- 25 days people!- I thought I'd do a list of thirteen regarding that.
Thirteen Things I Want to Do in Disneyland:
1. Take a picture with Cinderella- my mom has a picture of me with Cinderella from when I was younger. I thought it would be cute to get another one at 24!
2. Ride as many rides as possible- I have to admit... I'm a roller coaster junky. I'm afraid of them... but I love them!! I love the adrenaline that comes with riding them.
3. Take a picture with Tinkerbell- I saw over at Kathleen's journal a picture that she took with her honey and baby boy with Tinkerbell in their hands... I know it is in Disneyworld... but I'm sure Disneyland might have something like that.
4. Eat Some Nummy Food- I can't wait to hit up Downtown Disney and enjoy some good food that neither Derek or I have to cook!
5. Go to Disneylandright when it opens and not leave until it closes- I want to "Party it Up" in Disneyland with out have to take a nap break!
6. Ride "It's a Small World"- who can pass up the all time favorite?
7. Enjoy my alone time with my honey
8. Ride the new "Space Mountain" as many times as I can- I loved the old version... so the new one must be even better!
9. Not let the kids and rude people bother me- I have a hard time dealing with rude people and kids that are unruly. I'm making a deal with myself to not let that stuff bothering me while I'm on vacation.
10. Get a good nights sleep- with a dog who sleeps on your legs... a kid that plays with your hair in his sleep... and a husband that snores, I'm dying for some good sleep!!
11. Miss my Kids- awww... who wouldn't miss their kids though?
12. Make a Wish in the Wishing Well- do you think my wish for a million dollars would come true?
13. Buy myself and the kids Mickey Ears- personalized and all!! Wouldn't a family photo with ears be cute??
Okay, so that was my attempt. It was harder than I thought!! I thought I'd have lots of things I'd want to do in Disneyland pop into my head- but I was wrong!! Making that list was tough...
Time to get going...
If you play along, leave me your link!!
~Pickle Jenn~
So, have you all heard about the Stomach Virus that is running havoc in Northern California?
I have...
First hand.
YUCK!
Yup, I was sick from Sunday evening into the wee-morning hours of Monday... I won't go into detail, but I thought for sure I was going to die.
Okay, maybe not die... but I was feelin' something awful!!
So, needless to say... I'm behind on commenting and I'll try to get around to it soon!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend... I did... or well, until I was sick. I will come back with pictures and stories!
Hugs and Love to all,
~Jenn~
Ooo Ooo... look at me. I'm making my second entry in 3 days.
Alright Jennifer :)
I'm taking a bit of time right now from straightening up the house to type type type ...
My kids are napping and Derek is at training... it is very quiet.
I'm actually thinking about napping... yet that will prevent me from sleeping tonight, so I'm not sure if I want to really take one.
Yesterday, I took just about a two hour nap... and then couldn't fall asleep until well after 1130pm. I just couldn't shut off my mind... I hate that. I was almost in tears because my mind was just going and going...
I just wanted to go to sleep. Finally, after 1130, I was asleep... only to wake up when Derek came to bed at 1am (after he got home from dog training!!).
Then of course... my husband fell asleep and proceeded to snore! He usually doesn't snore, but lately, over the last week or so... he snores up a storm. I couldn't sleep. I ended up throwing my pillow over my head and fell asleep.
I can't handle it and I don't know what is causing him to snore... but if it continues, he'll be sleeping in another room :)
Okay, enough complaining.
Tonight I'm going to dinner with my family... sans Derek. He won't be home from training in time to go with us. So, it will be my parents, brother, grandma and the kiddos and I. We are going to The Olive Garden. Yum Yum. I can't wait. Chicken Scampi!! And of course the bread sticks...
Doesn't that sound delicious!?!
Then when I get home, we will be watching the UFC fight... I love that stuff... I'm really surprised that I do too, because I used to not be able to stand that type of stuff. Now, I watch the Ultimate Fighter on FX and all the UFC fights on PayPerView. Guess that just goes to show that your taste can change sometimes, right?
And of course, tomorrow is Easter!!
I can't wait for the "easter bunny" to hide the eggs for the kids... I think Rowan is going to have a blast. I'm not sure if Zachary will get the idea of having to find the eggs, but we are going to try with him anyways. The kids have their own sets of eggs to find... so that will make it a little easier on us. And no... we don't hide hard boiled eggs. So if a plastic egg gets lost somewhere... its not that big of a deal :)
Well, there is a load of laundry that needs to be folded calling my name... oh joy!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday evening and a great Easter!
~Jenn~
Gosh...
I swear, I'm really getting pretty horrible at this journaling thing...
Haven't I said this before??
Well, instead of me repeating myself...
Here I go to my entry :)
Things have been pretty A-okay around the Pickle Jar.
The kids are healthy and happy... as well as Derek and I.
Derek has been working a lot... so we have been missing him quite a bit at home... but its all for a good reason, so its okay.
Thankfully we will be together on Easter. He is actually off Friday-Monday... but has to work Fri, Sat and Mon OT... All three of which is Mandatory. Oh well... like I said, we have Sunday.
Sunday we are going to have his mom and dad over for breakfast and then for the Easter egg hunt for the chitlens. I'm planning on cooking- with my husbands help of course, since he is the Master Chef in the house- a huge breakfast that morning. One, because I want to... and two, because Monday I'm starting my diet- For REAL!
After our breakfast and egg hunt on Sunday morning... it will be nap time... for the kids and possibly Derek and I... shoot, I can't pass up a nap. I love them...
But after the naps... We'll be going to my parent's house for dinner and another Easter egg hunt for the babes. We will be having a Honey Baked Ham and lots of other goodies...
My grandmother is coming up for Easter too. My parents are going down to the Bay Area tomorrow morning to clean her house and then bring her home. It will be really nice to see her... yet it will be weird to have just her there... and not my Grandpa.
It hasn't even been a month yet...
Anyways...
I have the next four days off!! Woo Freakin' Hoo for me... I think I'm going to take that time to relax with my kids and also take some of the time to clean my house. I need to takle my bedroom/bath and also Zachary's room.
See, Zachary's room is basically used for the "catch-all" room. He doesn't use it to sleep in so everything that needs to be stored goes in there... But I'm tired of it being like that and I really want to get him to start napping in there... to slowly transition him to sleeping at night in there... so I want to get it cleaned up and decorated.
I'm thinking I want to go with "Monkey Boy" theme from Target... but first we'll have to purchase a twin bed... since the bedding isn't made for a Toddler bed. Thank goodness that the place we usually get our bedroom furniture does a Lay away system. That really helps when you don't want to shovel all that money out at one time or can't shovel it out.
Oooh...
I have like 32 days until Derek and I go to Disneyland... Let me tell you, I'm totally excited and really need this trip away with him. Just us two together for that time will be great...
I am also looking into possibly going and seeing another Jlander!!
Yup... I'm hoping to go and visit Barbie from "A Ticket to Ride" sometime in July. I found a weekend that Derek will be home with the kids and just have to make sure it works for her schedule and what not... so hopefully, we'll be able to finally meet!!
I will surely keep you posted on that trip :)
Hmm, what else what else...
Oh yes... my brother and his fiancée have moved up their wedding... well, pretty much.
If things go as they plan for a few different things, they will be getting married in August instead of July 2007. I'm truly so excited for them and I couldn't be happier for my brother...
Well, my friend Amy will be over in a bit... so I better go and get ready for her... We are having take-n-bake pizza and watching The O.C. tonight :)
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a fantastic Easter!
Hugs,
~Pickle Jenn~
As promised I'm here to share the pictures of Mr. Zachary Justice getting his hair cut for the first time...
I'm very proud of my Little Man for being as good as was when he got his hair cut. I guess its good to bribe your children every once in a while huh??
So here we go...
Us getting ready to get started... Yes, that is me... Don't laugh... You all know you look funny too when you are getting your hair done too :)
There goes the first clip... He was pretty still the whole time... Thats my good boy!!
Trimming up the back... it was surprisingly long... When wet, it went down to the bottom of his neck!
There goes his mohawk... She did leave the top a little longer so we could spike it or put it in a "small" mohawk.
Yup, we bribed him... a See's sucker did the trick :)
No worries for this Little Man... He's got his Mama and his Sucker... He is all good...
Hey! Who invited the paparazzi??
Hope you all enjoyed the pics :)
~Pickle Jenn~
Once again... its time to share another Real Fact presented by Snapple.com
"Swimming pools in the U.S. contain enough water to cover San Francisco"
Crazy that there is that much water being held in kidney-shapped (or other shapes) pools all over the United States.
Can you tell I drink a lot of Snapple?? My Fav is Diet Snapple Iced Tea Lemon Flavor :) Yum!!
It is amazing on how quickly my babies are growing up.
It really seems like yesterday when I was pregnant with Rowan. 19 years old... working at a grocery store... deeply in love my with boyfriend... and pregnant. It is amazing at how many pitiful looks I got from people when they realized I wasn't married and how young I was...
I didn't care then and I still don't.
I'd have to say I'm a pretty lucky 23 year old.
I am married (now... lol)... I own my own home (that I get to pay lovely house payments for!) and I have 2 beautiful children (that can drive me up a wall quicker than a mustang can go from 0-60).
But you know what?
I wouldn't change it for the world.
Anyway, back to my kids growing up.
It seems like every day, my children are learning new things and growing beyond my imagination.
Rowan is coming into her own person. Right now, she is Miss Into-Everyone's-Business. She likes to tattle-tale on her brother- guess she doesn't realize a 13 month old doesn't really know right from wrong- and tell on me too!
I swear, sometimes I look at her and think "You are only 4??"... that is how crazy she is. She is wise beyond her years... well, most of the time :)
And Mr. Zachary.
Oh, that boy is growing by leaps and bounds every day.
Friday marked a growth point in his life too.
He got his hair cut--- pictures to come soon, I promise.
Yes, he got his hair cut. I couldn't believe it. He did so well and didn't seem to care at all that my hair dresser was chopping of his baby hair. All he did care about was his sucker that he had to distract him :)
Zachary has also learned to point to his nose and ears (sometimes for the ears)... my dad also taught him to wipe his own nose!! What 13 month old knows how to wipe his nose?? Its the cutest thing. He'll take the Kleenex and wipe his nose and then hand it back to you. I swear, I was really surprised to see for the first time.
He is also learning how to feed himself with a fork and spoon. I think its good for kids to learn this... Rowan was using a fork and spoon very well by the time she was 18 months old... and let me tell you, the doctor was surprised that she was doing it. So yeah, he is getting to be a big boy.
They are growing up quickly... it is almost kinda sad.
Well, I wanted to write more... but it is getting to be the boys time for bed. Its time for a warm bottle of milk and then the binkie!!
I've got some more stuff to share later... like the pictures of Zach getting his hair cut... but they'll have to wait!!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and also has a great week ahead of them...
Love and Hugs to all,
~Jenn~
