Hi All...
I just wanted to take a quick moment... while it is quiet here at my house to say Hello and Thank You for all the wonderful well wishes...
Things here are really great. I was able to come home on Friday and it was nice to be home, let me tell you. The hospital stay wasn't bad mind you, but I was really ready to come home to my bed and just be with my new family.
Zachary Justice Matthew is doing really great. Friday night was tough, but we got through it. We had a check up already at the doctors office, to make sure that he isn't getting jaundice... Something common in breast fed babies?? I don't know... But he is doing well and is gaining the weight back that he lost in the hospital.
We have an appointment tomorrow morning at the doctors to get him circumsised (sp?)... I really wish they would have done it in the hospital, but I'm told that it is the doctors choice to do it there or in the office... So, that is what we have to look forward to tomorrow... Woo Hoo.
Rowan is doing soooo well with being a big sister. She is very helpful... Always wanting to get the diapers and wipes when I change him and sitting next to me when I feed him (which is going well too... but I won't go into detail...lol). She does want to hold him often, but she rather do it on her own than with help... But that doesn't happen :)
I'm really behind on everyone's journal, so I appologize for not visiting and commenting. It will probably take a while for me to get back up to speed on life in general... So be patient with me and the journals :) I do hope to get on here as often as I can to keep everyone updated and share pictures...
Speaking of pics, I've used AOL to add some... I can't seem to get my computer to work the way I'm wanting it too... ARGH!! Hope you enjoy them...
Gotta go now... Little Man is wanting his Mommy...

he is beautiful, I am glad you are home. I can understand wanting to be in your own bed. Glad Rowan is enjoying being a big sister.

Congratulations! I hope you and Zachary are settling in well... Jaundice is pretty common in newborns in general... they sometimes are unable to conjugate all the excess billirubin left over from the mother's red blood cells, anyway it is really nothing to worry about... the just put them under a special lamp. It usually peaks at 72 hours of age and dissapears within a couple weeks. Can happen to breast fed babies or formula babies!

i am SO happy u updated! every day, first thing i check to see if anyone had updated so was thrilled u did today...it sounds like life is getting back to normal (as much as it can that is with a new baby in the house!) for u all...i can understand how u feel about the circumsicison...both my boys were done before we came home from the hospital and i was so glad about that...that way i didnt have to hear them cry! the pictures are wonderful...thank u for sharing them with us...u have to gorgeous children! get your rest and enjoy your family...the journals arent going anywhere! (i will admit i miss your daily updates though LOL)

I was starting to get worried since we hadn't heard from you since your Mom did an entry. I'm glad things are going well.
Zachary looks sooo tiny...I wanna hold him!!!!! Sooo cute!
Jaundice is common in all babies. Doesn't matter if they're breast fed or not. Casey almost had to be put under the bilirubin light after we brought her home because she was soo yellow!!

OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH, thank you SO much for putting those great pics on here for us!! YAY!! He looks so great! Ty had jaundice..The "tellowing of the skin" as they like to call it..LOL.Something about how it makes them yellow and if the jaundice count gets too high it can cause brain damage..Thats all I know..except that ultraviolet lights clear it up...weird huh?..LOL...Im glad he is getting better from that though! Oh, I can just feel the happiness in your entry..The PAIN as well, but a good pain and well worth it right?..;) Take care of baby, your staples, and best of luck breastfeeding!! Thats so wonderful of a feeling..I remember all too well....
Awwww, what adorable pics of little Zachary!!!! I am so happy you are home too!! I guess it is pretty common for breastfed babies to become jaundiced, so don't worry about it. The circumcision tomorrow will be fun fun! NOT! Be ready for a crying little boy. And, don't apologize for not getting to everyone's journals woman! If we don't understand why you aren't getting to them, then we would be pretty sad wouldn't we?!?! You just take care of YOU and take care of those beautiful children of yours! Oh my gosh...he's so cute, Jen! I'm proud of you...you seem so at ease with 2 children. It was rough for me those first few weeks. Of course, Parker wasn't nearly as helpful as Rowan seems to be. All Parker would do is grunt at Autumn. LOL
As for the circumcision...it sucks. Truly. Not so much for little Zachary...he doesn't have any feeling down there yet...but it will be hard for mommy. I remember when Parker was circumcised...I made my mom go back with him. I couldn't bear to watch. <grin> Good luck!

I'm glad that you're okay Pickle. <hic-up> The pics are almost exactly like the ones of my Casey Wayne; right down to the one of Miss Rowan holding your little man. (ryan was 3) Thankx for the memories <snot coming from my nose> No need to explain about the breast feeding experience: Lach on, Lach off, Repeat. I hope he is a good little eater Baby, awwww, it's just so beautiful but god awful painful at first. My heart goes out to you sunshine. I used to put my tea cup on my other breast while nursing the other side.. they were so huge, LOL!! Helpful hint if you're in any pain: Cabbage leaf straight from the refer. It will cool those suckers off in a big way. I would walk around the house with just those on and nothing else, :o

These are the best times, those first few weeks with the baby and you!! Don't worry about stopping around to my journal just enjoy that darling baby and give him a sweet kiss and hugs from our family!!
