~Hi Friends~

Forgive me in advance for my typos... Typing with a wiggle-worm in your arms will surely cause typos... Especially when that wiggle-worm is blowing rasberries on one of your arms!

Its nice and quiet right now.

Well, besides from the rasberries that is...

Rowan finally made it back to school this morning.  She hasn't been since last Wednesday.  She was welcomed back with open arms and lots of "You feeling better's?".  She seemed really happy to get back to school... And how some fun, ya know?

Mom is gone also.  She went to my grandparents house in the bay area to say hello and give them their anniversary present.  They have been married 59 years... Yes, what a long time...

Dad is at work today.  Normally he is home on Friday but because he took Wednesday off for their Frame Walk Thru on their home, he is working.

Derek is at dog training this morning.  He didn't seem like he wanted to go, but he did.  He was a wee-bit tired, if I do say.  Only had 4 hours of sleep.  And that is probably all he'll have today too.

So, it is really quiet.

I don't even have the TV on.  How weird huh?

The trip to the vet went well.  Lola just had to have her booster shots, that is all.  The Dr. said she is a really healthy dog and mighty good looking.  He always says how pretty she is... She is such a good dog too.  Loves us and the kids.  Very protective when need be... Only problem is is that she loves to jump- on the fence!!  So you know she is scaring the crap out of people who are walking by!!

Anyways.  Rowan was a little bummed that she couldn't go with me to the vet.  So she requested that I bring Lola when I come and pick her up.  Lola will love that... Two car rides in one day... lol.  And how can I say no to Rowan ;)

If all goes well this afternoon- if Rowan gets a good nap and all- I'll be taking her to a make-up dance class.  She seems all excited about that one.  Only thing is, she needs a good nap and I hope she is willing to take one!

Oh, by the way.  Last night wasn't as bad as the night before.  A little rough, but not too bad.  Zach was up at 3am and I fed him, but he didn't want to go back to sleep.  He fought and he cried.  Finally I got him on the brink of sleep and he took the bait and finally went out!

He didn't wake up again until 645!!  Woo hoo for me.

Zach seems to be feeling a little better today.  Still mighty congested though.  I still am gagging him every once in a while to get him to cough the junk up, but he is doing really well coughing it up on his own.  Now, don't go and think I'm a mean mom for doing that... The CNP told me to.  He can't cough it all up, because he is still learning how to cough!

Oh!!  Zach has his firt tooth!!  It has broken skin and you can see it and feel it.  Its on the bottom right hand side.  Funny thing is, it doesn't seem to be right in the middle.  It is off to the side a little.  Oh well.  The baby boy has his first tooth!!!

Anyways.  I have many things planned today.  Besides Rowan's dance class, Derek wants to make a trip to Costco.  We need to get stuff for his Bday BBQ.  We are also going to a retirement dinner tonight for someone from the PD.  I am not too hot on going... And neither is he, but we are.  Good thing his brother and sister-in-law are going to be there... That means I'll have someone to talk to!! lol...

Well, Little Man is wanting another bottle.  Plus, I think he might be making me a suprise in his diaper... So, I best be off!

Thanks to everyone who welcomed my friend Jolene to J-land too!!  I know she must be thrilled to have people visiting her J... And if you haven't stopped by... Go check her out : Operation Mommy Blog!

~Big Pimpin'~

Well shoot.  Just look at me doing all these entries today!  You would think I have nothing better to do :)

Well, suprise suprise I do... But I thought I'd take a minute of my time and Pimp a new journal out there in J-land!!

My friend from High School, Jolene, has started her own AIM Journal.

Jolene is a SAHM who is going to school and is originally from my neck of the woods and but now living in Washington.  She lives there with her husband Scott- who was in the Navy up until this April- and their two boys, Ethan (4) and Dimitri (7mons-he was born 2 days before Zach).

She is just getting started on her Journal, so give her time to get her stuff in order... But do go by and say Hello!!  I know you all will treat her just a great as you have treated me!!

~I'm So Glad It's Thursday~

I'm so happy.

I'm so happy that it's Thursday!!

::doing happy dance::

I so need another break... Just like yesterday :)

It was so nice staying home with my babies.  Just having them cuddle up with me and "need me".  Plus, just staying on my couch and having some relaxing time would be nice too!

But shoot, tomorrow will not be a relaxing day.  I have errands to run and what not.  Gotta take Rowan to and from school... The dog to the vet... Run to Costco and what not.

Ugh!

So much for a quiet day... A relaxing day...

Anyways... Enough about me Bitching about not being able to keep my lazy butt on the couch tomorrow ;)

Last night was another rough night!

Poor Zach had another hard night with sleeping.  He went down at his normal time (830pm) but he woke up around 1230am just crying and crying.  I was able to get him back to sleep and I put him back in his crib.  Well, not even an hour later he wakes up screaming again.  This time, no matter what I did, I couldn't get him to stay asleep in his crib.

So, after getting him to sleep in my arms three different times and then failing to get him to sleep as I laid him in the crib, I did something that I said I wasn't going to do with him...

I took him to bed with me.

I know, I said I'd never take him to bed with me because I didn't want to have another Rowan- who by the way, has been sleeping with me again- but it was all I could do to keep him asleep!

I don't see anything wrong with have a co-sleeping bed... Really, I don't.  I just had such a hard time with getting Rowan to learn to sleep in her own room that I don't want to have to deal with that again.

Don't get me wrong, I love sleeping with my babies... Really.  But sometimes, you just need a bed that doesn't have flying hands and feet... lol.

So anyways.  He slept all night- well from about 2 until 630- for me that way.  It was nice.  I just hope he doesn't get used to it... And that he'll start to go back to sleeping the way he was after he feels better!

Hey!  Is anyone else having problems with their alerts?  I'm still not getting all of my comment alerts and I'm afraid I might be missing some people's entries!!  Damn AOHell.  I wish they would get their shite together!

So, if anyone else is having their alerts messed up too, please let me know!!  I just hope I am not the only one... lol... Which I doubt!!

Oh!  Did you guys realize that Halloween is just around the corner?  I can't believe Saturday will be the first day of October!!  My mom was kind enough to get the kiddos their costumes this year... Rowan wanted to be Snow White so that is what she will be and Zach is going to be Winnie the Pooh dressed up as a bumble bee... Here is Ro's costume:Zoomand I can't seem to find a picture of Zach's costume.  Bummer... Its just too cute.  I will just have to post pictures of them after I have them taken in a few weeks.  Yep!!  Professional Pictures people... Yippee!!

Well, I need to get my butt going.  Things to do and people to make happy!!

I hope each and every one of you have a great Thursday...

~Six Months Ago...~

   ZachUpclose.jpg
Six Months ago today, my Son Zachary came home from the hospital for a Second Time.

Six Months ago, we were celebrating the life of our son that was almost cut short.

After a twelve day stay in the PICU at Sutter Memorial Hospital Sacramento, Zachary Justice Matthew was able to come home to be with his Mommy, Daddy and Sister.

The eleven days prior to him being released on the twelfth day were like Living Hell.

Our Son Zachary almost passed away at the age of three weeks because he had not been diagnosed with SVT- Supraventricular Tachycardia- and his body had begun to give up.

For those of you new to reading my journal and don't know exactly what I'm talking about, you can read about Zach's story here: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.

Today, we celebrate our Son being happy and healthy.  We are thankful for all the wonderful people who were able to help our son and treat him.  We are thankful for the thoughts and prayers from our family and friends... And from you out there in J-land!

So, today lets celebrate the fact that Zachary is a happy and healty baby... And lets look forward to all the wonderful things he has in store!!

Happy Six Month Coming Home Zachary...

~All Is Looking Up~

Well things are looking pretty good over here at the Pickle Jar today.

Rowan seems to be in better spirits than yesterday and Zach is doing much better too.

Last night was forever long.

If it not had been for my dad, I think I would have gone insane!

My dad took care of Zach around 930pm and let me go to bed early.  He got him to sleep, put him in bed and then when Zach woke up around 1130pm, I took over.

From then on, Zach was up every hour on the hour.  Nice huh?  When he got up at 145am I decided he might needed a bottle.  When I came out to the kitchen, my stubborn dad told me to go back to bed and he'd take care of him.  So, he gave Z a bottle and then put him back to bed.  Zach was up again at 330am and then up at 615.  So, if Dad had not been around, I would surely be dragging my ass today...

Thanks Dad, you are THE best :)

*if you were wondering, Derek worked last night... that is why he wasn't helping*

I stayed home today from work to take care of the kiddies.  Also, my parents have a Frame Walk Thru for their home this morning, so we would have been with out a babysitter.  I guess it worked out well then.

I've spent all morning on the couch with Zach and Rowan.  Most of the time, Zach was asleep on my chest or in my lap.  He is still a bit feverish, but not as cranky as yesterday.  I've also been catching up on the tv shows that I missed last week that I DVR'd.  I've watched "Medium", "Las Vegas", "Grey's Anatomy".  I've still got "ER", "Charmed" and "Inconceivable" to watch.  So you all know what I'll be doing today... lol.

Anyways.

Enough about me being a Lazy Butt today...

I'm glad that after today, I'll have only one day of work left.  I guess last weekend really wore me out and with this cold, I need some Quiet Time.  But there really won't be too much of that.

Friday I have to take Lola-Dog (our Rottie) to the vet to get her caught up on her shots along with taking and picking Rowan up from school.  Then I plan on taking Rowan to a make-up dance class at 4 in the afternoon.

If I don't make it to Target and Costco during that in-between time, I will have to do that on Saturday.

Gotta love those places, ya know?

The Costco run is for Food/Party supplies for Derek's birthday.  His birthday is Oct. 3rd, but we'll be celebrating it on Sunday afternoon with a Football party.  He wants to bbq tri-tip and have finger foods.  Sounds good to me.  I was going to make cupcakes for his "cake" too.  Probably Chocolate on Chocolate and White with Chocolate.  Sounds yummy don't it?

Well, its about time to give Zach a bottle and hopefully he'll eat more than he was yesterday.  He's done pretty good this morning with about 4-5 ounces per feeding, so that makes me pretty happy!

I hope all of you out there have a wonderful Hump day ;)

~Okay, So its Not That Bad~

Okay, call me a worry wart or an over protective mother, I don't care.  Because I am and I think I have a right to be :) ... But I thought I'd tell you all that the kids' doctors appointment went okay.

Bad news is, is that they both have pretty nasty ear infections.

There is the cause of Zach's temperature and Rowan's crankiness.

The CNP could tell right away that Rowan and Zach weren't feeling well and she looked them over very well.

She listened to his chest for a long time and said that it was A-Okay.  That he is congested more in his throat.  That it is all "sticking there" and he'll just cough it up.

His heart rate was up a bit... 148bpm... But that is expected because he is running a good temp (100.9).  She said I could listen to it every once in a while to make sure it wasn't getting too high, but she told me that I needed to understand it would be elevated because of the fever.

Rowan on the other hand just has an ear infection.  So they both will be put on meds for the next ten days.  I hope we can kick the sickies straight out of the Pickle Jar for a while...

We are all so tired of it.

Thank you all for your thoughts and best wishes.

::Pickles::

~Okay, This REALLY Blows~

I'm so frustrated.

I am once again taking my children to the doctors this evening.

I know, I know...

They are so going to love me there.

Zach is running at 101.7 temperature and mighty cranky... While Rowan is running a below normal temp of 97.6.  She is still coughing and I guess right now (per Derek at home) she feels like she is burning up.  SO, I'm wondering if she is running a temperature again!

-mom just IMed me, its only 97.2!!-

I'm really frustrated guys.  It seems like I can't get the Sickies out of the house!  I don't know what to do.

Plus, I'm worried about Zach.  His chest is really raspy and with this high temperature, I don't know if it will affect his heart condition or not.

Something like that or having the flu or the "runs" can easily put him back in the hospital... He has to have his meds and if he can't keep them down or "in" he'll have to go in to be put on IV.  UGH.

Can you see what I'm frustrated?

So, I guess there goes the promise of getting pictures of Rowan in her cute little outfit for gym!  Sorry guys.  Next time I suppose!

Wish us luck.  Our appointment is at 510 PT.

~I suppose its time for a Real Entry~

Well, I thought I should do a real entry and not beat around the bush and post more pictures :)  Besides, I don't have anymore pictures to post!

Things in the Pickle Jar are okay.  For some reason, we like to pass around the sickies and guess who is Sick once again...

Yep, Me.

Yee Freakin' Haw.

So, in my house there are 4 out of 6 people six.

My mom, Rowan, Zach and Me.

Oh so much fun!!

My mom has a nasty cold.  Cough and what not.  Rowan has a cough that is just there.  Nothing more going on than that... And Zach, well, he is still congested!  He doesn't seem to be getting better nor getting worse.  So, I guess that is a good thing.  But I wish he would get better!!! Ugh!

Last night was rough on him.  He woke up at 145am and I tried to give him a bottle and all he would take was 2.5oz.  I rocked him for a bit and he seemed ready to go back to sleep.  So I put him in his crib and he 'drifted' off to sleep.  Or so I thought.  Not 10 mins later, he was coughing and whining.  I went back in there and he was awake.  So I rocked him some more and then put him back to sleep.  Some time later he was coughing again.  So this time I went in there, sucked out the snot from his nose, gave him some tylonel cold meds, popped the binkie back in his mouth and he was finally out.

All of this took place over an hour... So, I'm tired this morning.  Plus being sick on top of it so doesn't help!!

Anywho...

Yesterday afternoon when I got home, Rowan and I made homemade cookies!  I got the idea from Lisa (private J- sorry no link) who had baked a bunch of cookies for her Husband's work buddies.  I hadn't made homemade cookies in forever andI thought Rowan would just enjoy doing it... And she did.  They came out really awesome too!

I'm going to have to be really good and try not to eat too many of them :)  I so don't need those extra calories...  Shoot, I'll have to try not to eat the dough more than anything!  Haha.

Tonight is Rowan's second dance class.  I hope she'll be up to it.  As long as she gets a good nap in this afternoon, I think she'll be okay.  She didn't go to school or gymnastics yesterday, so she really needs an outlet today.  She has told both my mom and I that she wanted to go to school today.  How cute is that?  Poor thing has missed two days in the last week and she wants to go.

Anyways, I was thinking before her class this evening, that we'd stop at Target and pick up a dance bag and a "skirt" thing because she wanted one when she saw another girl at dance class with one last week.  I know, I spoil her... But sometimes, you just gotta :)  Plus, I "need" something to carry both pairs of her dance shoes in.  Last week was too hard with the boxes and what not... And my purse isn't big enough to hold them!

I will TRY to get pictures of her during her class this evening.  But I promise that I'll take pictures of her before in her cute little outfit!!

Now, it is time to run.

My head is way too foggy to try to multi-task today... Bummer too because I'm really good at it!

Have a great Tuesday all.

~Pismo Pictures~

Hi Guys.

I just wanted to share some pictures from our trip to Pismo.  It was wonderful and so much fun.  I can't wait for Zach and Rowan to be "just a little older" so we can experience everything... We missed out on a play that the rest of the family went to because it was too late for Zach to be up!  My kiddo goes to sleep around 8pm so he would have been a cranky monster!!

The trip to the beach was great... As you'll all see.  I swear, I could live in that area- if I could afford it and if my family was there too!  I hope you enjoy this "photo entry"...

I am a wee-bit behind in my alerts... a total of 100 in my inbox!!  So, give me some time folks and I'll get to them!!

Oh, I wanted to say Congrats to my brother and his girlfriend... They recently got engaged... Actually last week on a cruise to Mexico!  Congrats Chris and Amy... We love you!!

Saturday, September 24, 2005

Hi all. Things are looking up here. Rowan seems to be more like herself now. She finally got her appeatite back last night and scarfed down chicken strips and fries from Marie Calendars. Yeah, I know. Eating from a place like that when we are down here... Long story. Too much to type out on this little t mobile sidekick ;) Today we are going to do some walking around Pismo and then we will be heading down to the beach to play and collect sea shells. Pictures of all to come... Promise ;) Have a great Saturday!!

Friday, September 23, 2005

Well, we've made it to Pismo!! All went well until we stopped in Paso Robles to use the restroom and Ro threw up in the sink. We think it was motion sickness... She has no fever. In fact, she is running a 97.9 temp. Below normal. We just checked into our room and had fish and chips for lunch... Along with chowder bowls. Yum. Now its nap time... Have a great day friends. ~Pickle~

~We are Outta Here~

We are outta here folks...

                  Pismo here we come...

Rowan is feeling better.  With a temp of a whole 99.2 degrees :)

See you on Sunday Friends!!

HUGS,

~Well~

Well, it looks like Pismo is still a go...

With fingers crossed, we should be heading out tomorrow morning around 9am.

It seems that Rowan just has a virus and as long as we are still giving her tylenol, she should be okay to make the trip.  No ear infection... Nothing else.  Just a virus.

At the doctors office, Rowan was only running at 99.3 temp... When we got home, I gave her more tylenol and before she went to bed she was running at 101.1 temp!!!  Can any one explain that to me??  Goodness.  So, I forced a cold wash cloth on her head, read a book and then she was out cold!

I just hope that this is over and done with by tomorrow morning.

Wish us all luck, okay!

::Pickles::

~Uh Oh~

Well, this whole "kid goes to school... kid gets sick" thing is pretty damn sucky!!

Miss Rowan is still running a temp.  It hasn't been over 100 degrees since yesterday... Well, at 130 this morning it was 101 but what does that mean when the child has been sleeping under covers and next to another warm body.

Right now, she is running 99.3 and that is with meds on board.  She doesn't seem too sick.  Just a little lazy and what not.  She still has a pretty good healthy craving for food and drink... So that is good.

She does have the Loosie Goosies... aka diarrhea... and she has said that her ear hurts, but other than that, she seems pretty well.  No sign of throwing up... I can stand barf, so I hope that doesn't happen.  I only figure if she was going to be throwing up, she'd already be doing it...

We have Another doctors appointment this morning at 1040.  Goodness, they are going to love us over there.  And so will our insurance!

I can only hope this is a 24 hour bug and it will run its way thru her and that will be it.  I do hope that no one else will be hit by it and not feel well either.

I am not sure if we'll be going to Pismo Beach tomorrow.  We have until 4pm today to cancel our room.  It will suck to not be able to go... For one, because the rest of the family is going and Two, I just like it there a lot and wanted a change of scene... But my life revolves around my children... So, I'm not going to drag a sick child with Loosie Goosies on a 3 hour car ride :D

Besides, Pismo is not going anywhere.  Our trip will just have to wait if need be.

Goodness, as I type this, Rowan is being awful crazy.  She has these spurts of energy and you think to yourself, "This Child is Sick?"  Yeah, so I hope it runs thru her fast...

Pismo... I hear you calling :(

I'll let you know how her doctors appointment goes.... And if we decide to go to Pismo or not...

Wish us Luck!

~This Just In~

                                              ZachBathTowelUpclose.jpg

Zachary Justice Matthew has officially started Crawling!!

You can now return to your Journal Reading...

                                           :) :) :) :)

*FYI- Zach is going to be 7 months old on Thursday*

~You Are So Going To Kill Me~

So, I'm a big ol' dumb-dumb.

And you are going to kill me...

I didn't get any pictures of Rowan's first day of dance class :(

I know, I know... Dumb me!!

But really, even if I were to have taken some pictures, they wouldn't have come out well.  The "window" that looks into the dance room is tinted and you can see your reflection as well as the kids in the room!  So, I don't know how I could get a good picture... Hey Heather!!!  Picture Queen... You have any ideas???

I was going to try to take some pictures before the class yesterday too though... And that didn't happen!  The weather here was crazy and we had a Beautiful Thunderstorm, but with a Thunderstorm comes the rain and it was just pouring.  So, the trip to class to longer than normal and when we got to class, we had to get her clothes!!

We were able to get everything (leotard, tights, tap and ballet shoes) that she needed there at the studio for just about $79.  Now, I don't know if that is outrageous or anything, but I thought it was pretty resonable.  From now on, I'll be looking for leotards and tights at Target for cheaper.  But she looked oh-so-cute in the little outfit!

Of course she was only wanting to wear her tap shoes ;)  That is a three year old for you, huh?

She did so well though.  I really don't want to Toot my own 'horn', but my daughter is very patient and a very good listener.  She didn't mess around or anything and she caught on to what the teachers were teaching her Very Quickly!!  There were girls in the class that have been taking it longer than her and she was doing some of the things better!!

I promise, I will take pictures next week... At least of just her in her leotard!!  I'll have to find a way to take pics through the "window" :)

Anyways...

Zachary is doing okay.  He is still a cranky butt and not feeling well.  The doctor cleared him health wise.  His ears are clear and she actually believes he is teething and that could be one of the reasons why he is congested.  So, I propped his mattress up on one end last night and kept the humidifier on and those things seemed to help.  I just hope he is feeling better by Friday, because a three hour trip to Pismo won't be all that fun if he is as cranky as he is!  And if he is cranky, I just hope he sleeps most of the way there :D  How bad am I??? lol...

Anyways, back to our Beautiful Thunderstorm we had yesterday!  We haven't had a thunderstorm like that in a while!  Down pours of Rain... Lightening and Thunder!  OMG it was so beautiful... I love weather like that.  And this was the first Thunderstorm that Rowan has really gotten to experience.  She loved it... She kept watching the sky for the "Light" and would count until she heard the thunder.  She didn't know why she was counting, but she did it when my mom and I would :)  Such a sweetie!

Now today it is humid and going to be boring- no rain or thunder and lightening.  I had wished that it would be like that for a least another day or so, but I guess I can wait for a while until "Winter" is here to stay!

Speaking of yesterday... I got to speak to another J-lander on the phone!!  Miss Nae called me all the way from PA.  :)  She doesn't sound anything like I would imagined.  I even told her that... lol.  I expected this voice thick with an accent but I could barely hear one!!  We were only able to talk awhile... But I'm glad I did!!  Okay people, two J-landers down and many more to go :)

Well, I must be going... I hope everyone has a great Hump Day and I PROMISE to take pictures of Rowan next week!!

Update: Rowan had to come home from School sick.  They called to say that she had a temp of 101.9!!  Goodness... If I knew my child was going to get so sick from other kids at school, I would have just never sent her!!  UGH!  Please cross your fingers that she is well soon... And hopefully in time to go to Pismo!

~Guess What?~

                                   dancer.jpg

Guess who is starting dance classes tonight?

No, not me ;)

Miss Rowan is...

She is taking a Pre-Ballet/Tap class... It is on Tuesday evenings at 6pm.  She is so excited!!  I am too.  Rowan has a natural gift of rhythm, so this will be so good for her.

Last night she wanted to go to the class right after her gymnastics class!  Once her gym class was over she says, "Now to dance right?" and I had to break her little heart by telling her that she had to wait until tomorrow night!!

The dance studio is in the same building as her gymnastics class, so that is good.  It is only a 20 minute ride from our house... I just hope she enjoys the class.  My daughter likes to shake her booty, so I hope the structure of the class works for her... Or rather, she works with it!

She does have to follow their dress code though.  She has to wear a Red leotard and white tights... Then pink ballet slippers and black tap shoes.  I am sure she will want to wear one of the flowing little pink wraps/skirts that go around the leotard, just because all of the other little girls wear them too!  So that will be one more thing for me to buy.  Thank goodness they sell most of the stuff there at the studio.  And it isn't too expensive... Or at least I don't think it is.  I've never had to deal with dance clothes, so I'm not sure.  Hey Cat, is $19 expensive for a leotard???  And how much to tap and ballet slippers run???  Oh, this dance thing is out of my league!!  I'm only used to buying bathing suits and water polo balls :D

So, you know you should expect to see pictures tomorrow.  I hope to be able to buy her outfit before class so that she can look like the rest of the girls in the class... I even told her she has to wear her hair up- which she despises!!- so that her hair doesn't get in her face!!

How exciting huh???

Anyways...

Rowan did really well at gymnastics last night.  It was skills check off week... So that means that she was being "tested" on all the things they are learning in class.  She has already had around 12 (or so) skills checked off... And once she has the rest checked off, she'll move up a level.  She won't be able to go to another class until she turns five, but she'll move up a level.  So, we'll see how many skills she has checked off next Monday!

Now, my other little child isn't feeling too well.  I swear, we've been trading colds back and forth for a while now.  So, Mr. Zachary is going to be making ANOTHER trip to the doctors this afternoon.  He is really congested and has a cough.  Plus, he is pulling at his ears again!!  I don't know if his ear infection came back or never left.  I just need a healthy child before we go to Pismo!!  I don't want a sicky child or to have to stay home... I mean, I will stay home if need be, but it will be a sad thing ;)

Well, I gotta go finish payroll.  I have to leave early and what not... Plus I Need my check!!!  So, I hope everyone has a nice Tuesday.

~Oh I'm Back~

Hi all.  Yes, I'm back.  My weekend was wonderful.  Expensive, but wonderful.  I would have been on here sooner to let you all know how it was, but my parents laptop computer took a dive and well, I couldn't do an entry!

First of all, I got my hair cut on Friday!!  Boy, did I need it and I love the cut and color.  I cut about an inch or so off and then had her put more layers in to make it lighter for me.  See, I have enough hair for myself and another person!!  So, I needed some of it to go away... lol.  I also had her put a warm blonde/brown in to darken it up for fall.  I love the color and it is more my normal color too.  Fits me just right, I think!  But, the blonde in me forgot to get a picture of my new hair to share... Oops!

Second, Wine and Roses is beautiful... Very nice and quiet.  Derek and I enjoyed our time alone... Although, we missed the kids terribly :)  The hour long massages were fab!!  Derek said that if we ever were to hit the lottery that we'd hire a massage therapist to be at our house everyday!!  Can you guess that he enjoyed his first professional massage?

The main house and resturant... Lovely in side...
                                      Very old fashion...

Our room was very lovely.  We were suprised with how nice it was.  See, they had rooms starting from $159-$300+.  We just got the Garden Room with King and that was $179.  (Expensive weekend...) But as you can see from the pictures below, it was very nice!!
   bed.jpg
                                     The King size bed...
   BathroomwithTV.jpg
The bathroom... Yes, that is a TV in the bathroom!
   Balcany.jpg
Our balcany... We didn't use it... But it was a beautiful view...

We enjoyed a nice dinner at their resturant too.  Very different from what we are used to, but we enjoyed it just the same.  Our dinner with dessert and tip was $115!!!  Can you say "OMG"... And "thank goodness for Credit Cards"???  Yeah, expensive!!  And the bad thing was that the portions were so small.  Poor Derek had to eat like 6 pieces of bed with his soup and dinner just to feel full.  lol... He was not used to the Itty-Bitty portions!!

But over all, our weekend alone was great.  We liked just being able to do what we wanted and enjoyed the quiet time.  Sleeping "all night" was nice too... And not having to wake up at the butt-crack of down was nice too!

**Thanks Mom and Dad for giving us that time away**

So, that is about it.  Saturday we left around 930am and headed home.  We had to make a pit-stop at the Yamaha shop and pick up parts for Derek's bike.  Remember, he crashed it :)  Once we got back in town, I dropped Derek off at the PD and he went off to Sniper Training.  They have a Sniper position open on the SWAT team and he would like it... Don't know if he'll get it, but he is trying.

After he got home, we didn't do much.  We went over to Derek's parents house and hung out there for a bit and then went grocery shopping.  Goodness, do we do that a lot :D  Lol... Then it was a nice quiet night athome, watching Cops and eating hotdogs and Mac & Cheese!!!

Of course, Sunday was spent watching, Can you guess?, FOOTBALL!!!  Ugh!  All day long it was on... Boring!!  But I did pig out on all the horrible food that comes along with Football.  Hot wings, Artichoke dip, Mini-Pigs in a blanket... And Cupcakes!!  Rowan and I made cupcakes yesterday morning and we only have about 10 left!  ahaha...

Those went quickly with everyone that we had over :D

And that was my weekend.  Nothing exciting besides the Wine and Roses trip.  And with all the crap that I ate this weekend, I am back on my diet...

But that will go out the window on Friday when I go to PISMO!!!  Muahahahaha...

I'm going to do another entry... Photo entry really.

Oh and I wanted to thank Nae for the great graphics on my side-bar!!  They are wonderful :)

Be back in a bit...

~Is it Friday Yet?? And I Don't Want to Be Here!~

FairyinPastel.jpg

Can you tell I really don't want to be here (at work) today?  This week has been dragging and I'm completely exhausted.

I know today will take forever to finish.  My desk at work faces the clock- not to mention there is one of the computer and on our phones- so I will be staring at it all day long.

Luckily it has been pretty busy this morning... Phones ringing off the hook and because I was by myself, it kept me busy.  Only sucky thing is is that I had a Venti Coffee this morning and I haven't been able to use the potty!!!

And boy, do I need to go... lol.  Oh! There is my MIL... Thank goodness... Gotta go :)

                                 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Oh, so much better now.  Time to hit the bottled water now...

Anyways, I'm very much excited about heading out of town tomorrow afternoon.

You want to know what I am most excited about??  This might sound funny, but I am excited about being able to Sleep!!  I know, funny right?

But when you don't get good sleep and are up a few times a night, that is what you look forward to.  I am lame right??  lol...

Okay, I am looking forward to the massages too :)  And the Yummy Yummy dinner!!

Tomorrow also brings my hair appointment.  Goodness do I need it!  lol... But I've said that before.  Its been over two months since I've had my hair cut though, so it needs it.

Anyways...

Rowan is feeling better.  She still had a bit of a bark last night when she went to bed.  I put a humidifier in her room last night... But it was really no point because she was in my room by 1am!  Ugh.  Double Ugh because she wouldn't let me close the door to keep the "steam" in her room!

Such a stubborn, independent girl!

Reminds me of someone I know ;)

We have gotten her to understand that she is going to have to wear pants to school when it is chilly now though.  I asked her last night "What are you wearing to School on Friday?" and she answered with a smile on her face, "Pants!!"

SO, tonight, before she goes to bed we'll pick out what she'll be wearing to school tomorrow.  I'll let her pick it out and she'll wear it- well, as long as she doesn't look silly- so she'll feel like a Big Girl.  I just hope tomorrow morning we don't have another "Knock-Down-Drag-Out Fight" with her :)

And my other child is now waking up in the early morning acting like it is time to get up and have some fun!!

Early this morning, Zach woke up around 345am and was all smiles.  I tried to get him to go back to sleep, but it didn't work.  He had leaked out his diaper and his back was wet- which I didn't know until I picked him up- so I had to take care of that.  Then I got him a bottle and luckily for me, went back to sleep after that!  And he didn't wake up until 730 this morning!

Oh! Last night I watched that new show "Bones" that is on Fox.  It is usually on Tuesday nights at 8pm, but I DVR'd it.  Gotta love DVR :D  Anyways, it is a pretty good show.  I think this will be a pretty good hit...

I like shows like that.  Mystery and what not... Plus twists and then some dead bodies.  Haha.  That is what makes a good show!

Speaking of good shows, "The OC" is on tonight... So don't forget!  I hope it is a little better than the premire last week!  Give me something different... Something a little more Juicy and don't have any more Running Away crap ;)  For those who watch, you know what I mean!

Well, Derek just called me from home.  He said that his SWAT Team is being activated.  Something about a homicide suspect in the city he works for that they are going to go get.  Fun Stuff... Just hope all comes out okay for them, okay?  Their Police Department has had too much saddness in the last year for anything else to happen!

I gotta run now.  Things to do and stuff to get done.  I hope you all have a great day!

~Count Down Begins and Sickies Again??~

Well, the count down to this weekend begins.

I figure I have two days of work to get through and then I can finally have some relaxing time off... And AwayWine and Roses, here we come!!

I also get to my hair done on Friday too.  Finally!!  It is so heavy and has grown so much that I can't do anything with it and my roots have grown out so much that they are at least an inch dark!!  My purple has faded so much too that it just needs to be covered.  I can't do anything else too over the top because I'm afraid that it won't be gone in time for the Wedding that I'll be in at the end of November.

Now that wedding is a story for another time... lol.

Anyways.

Rowan woke up Barking like a Seal again today.  Actually, she woke up around 2am like that.  She sounded horrible.  I brought her to my bed and you could just hear the tighteness in her throat.  So, when I let the dog out to pee, I took her out there with me and told her to take some deep breaths.  I am not sure if it helped or not, but she was able to go back to sleep.

This morning was a tough one in the Pickle Jar.  Rowan woke up in a bad mood and barking.  Then she didn't want to wear Jeans to school and proceeded to just cry and complain.  So, in the end, she didn't go to school.

Yep.  We kept her home.  For one, she is sick and two, well, because she was refusing to wear what we wanted her to.  So, my mom- the wonderful lady that she is- sat Rowan down and talked to her.  She told Rowan that she will be wearing pants from now on to school unless it is warm enough for her to wear a skirt or dress.  My mom asked her if she understood and she said Yes.  My mom said that she'd be asking her through out the day some more and reminding her, so that when Friday comes around there will be no fighting.

Ugh, Kids.  How can a three and a half year old be so difficult to live with????

Speaking of clothes.

My mom and I went to Target yesterday and I picked up some clothes for my kiddies.  I swear, I got Rowan so many clothes for like $60!!  Pants, shirts, sweats and a really pretty sweater!  I can't believe the deals that you get at Target, really.  There clothes are pretty inexpensive and good quality.  My child is pretty tough on her clothes... So Target clothes are just perfect for her!

I also picked up some clothes for Mr. Zachary.  Onesies and pants that match... Some full body sleepers and then some sweats and matching sweat shirts.  Oh yes, and some socks too!  Funny thing is is how many different sizes of clothes I had to purchase.  In the Target brand, Circo, I was able to get him 6-9 months or 9-12 month clothes.  But in the sweats from Hanes, I had to purchase him size 12 months!  I couldn't believe it.  Their 9 month size was only for 16-17lbs!!  Can you believe that?

After Target, my mom and I stopped at El Pollo Loco for dinner.  It was very yummy.  I had a Chicken Tostada Salad and my mom had their new Fiesta Pollo Salad, while Rowan had a Quesadilla.  Yum Yum!!  It was a little spicy, but oh so tasty!

Time to light the fire under my butt... Many a thing to do today...

I hope everyone has a wonderful "Hump Day"!!

~Watch Out, Here Comes Some Ramblings!~

Okay, First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for all the "Get Well Soons" and "Hope you Feel Better Quicklies".  They mean a lot, really.  And good news is, I am feeling better this morning.  I managed to get a doctors appointment yesterday afternoon and I was informed (like many of you said on here) that I have a Sinus Infection.  I wasn't suprised really... So, the doctor gave me some antibiotics and now the Snot River is already flowing!!  After one stinking pill last night... Can you believe that?

Hopefully I'll feel 100x better by Friday.  I am not really wanting to go away for the weekend still sickie.  No fun there, but I will if I have to!  I am determined to make it away... Just Derek and I.

Hmm, what else... what else.

Oh yes.  Yesterday after I got home from the doctors appointment, I was greeted by a letter from Mercy Air- who air lifted Zachary from Memorial Hospital in Modesto to another hospital in Sacramento- stating that if I didn't pay the balance of $3,145.00 with in 10 days time that they'd report Derek and I to a Collections Agency!!!

So, yeah, I was pretty TICKED OFF when I saw this.  Why you ask?  Well, I've called at LEAST 3 times on this one claim.  Plus, the Insurance company had sent the Provider a letter telling them to leave us alone regarding the payment!

I made my First phone call to my Insurance company.  Well, the Witchy-Witch of an associate wasn't all that helpful.  When she told me once again that it wasn't my responsibility and that she'd put this claim up again for payment and the Insurance company would decide, I said "So, until you guys decide to pay, I'm basically Screwed".  And the lady gets a very rude tone-more than she was already- and goes, "I don't like to use that word.  You don't need to say that" and that is when I said, "Thanks for your help" and I hung up!!!  Damn Witch!

Then my Second call was to Mercy Air.  I spoke to a very nice lady there that was only trying to do her job... Which I understand.  And she seemed to understand where I was coming from.  Being that I have 100% coverage on all type of Emergency stuff like that, I was stuck between a rock and a hard place with the Insurance not willing to pay them.  She informed me that her company DOES NOT write things off and that if they didn't pay her company, she'd be forced to sent a collections agency out against us!  I told her that it didn't seem fair that I was getting screwed because the insurance company wasn't paying the bill.  Why weren't they going after the insurance company and not me??  So, in the end, I got her to extend the 10 days to another 30 before she'd send us off to Collections...

And then I made my Third Call...

Right back to the Insurance Company!!!!

This time, when the agent got on the phone, I asked to speak to a Supervisor.  Of course, the gentlemen wanted to try to help me... So, I let him.  But this time, my Irish temper came out in a very Nice way.  I wasn't rude but I was very stern.  I basically told him that he needed to get their shite together and pay this company because I had 100% coverage on something like this and I wasn't about to be sent off to a Collection Agency because THEY weren't paying the bill!!!  Of course, he wanted to call Mercy Air and see about the whole writing it off... When I already told him they wouldn't.  But I stayed on the line when he called.  He came back and said "You are right.  They won't write it off".

So, they will be paying the remaining balance!  I told him that I'd be calling Friday morning to get all the information.  Check number, check date, the amount and when it was sent out.  I also told him that I wanted it in writing.  I want something tangable to show someone!!  I am not sure if they will have the check out on Friday, but I'm going to be talking to Jeff (haha, got his name and extension.. He can't run from me!!) and I will be sure to rip him a new one if it hasn't gone out!!

Anyway... enough of me bitching about insurances.  I am VERY lucky to have them... But they are a Bitch to deal with!!

Oh!  Get this.  My daughter has become a little artist!

Not the way I'd like her to either...

While I was on the phone with the Insurance company, she came out with nailpolish on her finger... Not her nails, but on her finger.  So, I followed the smell of polish down the hall into the bathroom and that is where I found her Art Work.  She had painted ontop of the toilet seat and then on the metal parts of the toilet paper holder!!  OMG.  It was so hard to get off!!!  I told her she was Grounded... And she looked at me like "What is Grounded!?!?!" lol.  This isn't the first time she has done this, so that is why I was a little unhappy.  But I'm over it now.  My parents thought it was kinda funny though.  They kept telling me that it was something I would have done when I was younger!

I guess it is true... Whatever you did to your parents comes back 3x fold :)

Last night was gymnastics too.  I still wasn't feeling all that great about going, but we still went anyhow.  Rowan did well.  She is so well behaved out there sometimes I wonder if she is really my daughter ;)  All the other kids will not be paying attention and there will Rowan be, sitting there patiently waiting for her turn.  It makes me bubble over with pride, really.  But anyways, she is doing good.  Perfecting the things she is learning and enjoying her time out there!  I only wish I could get her into aDance Class too... But that would really kill my pocket book!

Speaking of Pocket Books, Thank Goodness its Tuesday... Because I get Paid today!!  Woo Hoo...

Hmmm...

Oh yes.  Tonight is the Premire of "Gilmore Girls" on The WB.  I love this show so I can't wait.  I'm only bummed about it because my Friend Amy won't be at my house to watch it with me.  We would do "Gilmore Girls/One Tree Hill/The OC" nights... But now because she is Teaching full-time and is very busy and stressed (First Year Teacher!!) so she has no free time to come and watch :(  Oh well... I totally understand... I'm just proud of her that she has a job and what not!

Well, I need to run.  I've done enough rambling already.  I'm sure you guys are like "Shut Up Already"... Plus, we are having a Taco Bell inspection today... So, things need to be in their spot and we need to be busy- or at least look busy, hahaha!!

Have a Great Tuesday!

~Busy Weekend and I'm Still Sick~

Goodness, have I been a bad journaler (is that a word??) or what?  I haven't posted since last Thursday?!?!  Good God Man!  Bad Jennifer Bad.

I've got some good reasons though... Promise :D

First of all, I'm still sick.

I have a cough and the pressure in my sinus area is just about killing me.  All the gunk is Green, so I know I need to get my booty to the doctors, but I just don't want to go.  For one, I don't know if they can do anything for me... But I just don't want to take the time and go.  lol.

I am starting to sound like my husband.  That man won't go to the doctors for nothing... And I'm sounding a lot like him right now!

It was also a pretty busy weekend.

Friday my mom and I went and got our nails and toes done.  Boy did I need it!  I hadn't been there for a month and my toes had lost all the paint on them!

After our nail appointment, we went to a paint store to pick out some paint samples.  We are getting the inside of our house painted in October and I needed to find some colors.  I (we) finally found this really nice color Peanut Shell for the livingroom and dining room and then a shade or two lighter for the hallway.  The kitchen will be a Green- either moss green or turtle green, I can't figure out which one yet.

We have already figured out what color we'll be doing the guest/the kids bathroom.  It is a teal green color.  Very tropical.  It matches the shower curtain and what not.  But it will be very easy to find stuff to go with later on too!

After picking out the paint samples, we headed up to North Modesto to Lowes.  We needed to pick out a tile for the guest bathroom and my bathroom and closet.  We picked out a pretty neat looking tile.  Almost looks like sand and what not.  It will be really neat.

My parents are going to be putting the tile down next weekend (Sept 23rd) while we are in Pismo.  They are doing that as a "Thank You" for letting them live with us until their house is done!  Aren't they great ;)

See... Told you I was busy.

Then on Saturday my mom, me, my moms friend and my friend Amy went to Mountain View for the Art and Wine festival.  I had a good time in the beginning, but towards the end of the day, I started for feel horrible.

My head was hurting and I was coughing up a storm....

But I did get some goodies.  My mom (and dad- it was his idea) bought me a new hat.  I love big, floppy straw hats and I found a really like straw color one.  My mom got a black one!  We can switch them up and share :D  I also found a really neat necklace at an Irish Charm place.  It is the Celtic Trinity Knot with a purple stone under it.  Its small, but very beautiful!

But boy, was I tired on the way home... And I was so glad to get home when I did too :)

And then yesterday, I just was a lazy girl.  I was on the couch all day long and I even took two cat-naps.  Derek was really good to me and new that I needed them.  So, he took care of the kids and what not.

Derek also "built" Rowan a fort in our dining room yesterday afternoon... She loved it!  And all he did was take a really big blanket and put it over half of the table and she just played under it.  She even took a nap in there!!  Derek just put some blankets down and then her sleeping bag and she was out!  She took a good nap too- 2 hours.  I guess it helped that it was dark and semi-quiet.  Silly girl.  She loved it though and wanted to sleep in there last night!

Derek told her that he'd build her one every Sunday... Only Sundays though he said ;)  Just something for Her from Daddy.

So I guess that was my weekend.

Told you I was busy... But I do feel like a bad J-land person :)

I tried to keep up withmy alerts, but I've got a good 60 in my in-box right now :(  Darn it.  And its Monday too!

So you know what that means... Busy day and probably a loopy day too!

I can't wait for the week to be over though.  Does that sound bad???  But I'm so waiting for Friday to come!

Friday brings a hair appointment- which I so need!!- and then Derek and me go to Wine and Roses for the weekend!!!  I can't wait... Quiet time... Alone time... Good Food... Massages... Sleeping In... Ah, how much fun!!

Tonight is Rowan's gymnastics class.  Good thing too because she has tons of pint up energy.  I just hope she can make it through it, because I know she'll be tired!

Oh yea... My diet kinda fell to the waste-side while I've been sick.  I haven't been eating bad, but I wasn't paying too much attention to what I was eating.  Plus, when you are feeling bad anything Sweet will help you out!

Well, I need to run now.  Too much going on to really get a good entry in.  I hope I can get to all my journal entries...

~Love to Hit the Snooze Button and New Night of TV~

Well, now that I got rid of some stupido-guy IM-ing me with Crazy things, I can get to my entry!  Geeze Psycho... Leave this gal alone!

Anyways...

I hit the snooze button on my alarm one too many times this morning.  In fact, I hit it a total of three times... But only remember hitting it twice.  Yep, I totally don't remember hitting it the first time!  How weird huh?  So, instead of waking up at my usual 540am I didn't roll out of bed until 555am!

Good thing I didn't need to wash my hair or I would have probably been late for work.  Something that can't happen because right now, I'm the only one here!!  So, if I were late... No one would be here to answer the phones and do other stuff.  Good thing they can rely on Jennifer to get the job done ;)

Okay, on to another subject before I start bitching and I hate to bitch!

I'm still feeling like caca-poopoo.  I don't know what the deal is.  My head is foggy still but my throat doesn't hurt much anymore.  My body aches a bit but other than that I'll live.  My dad did freak me out a bit and say that I might have the West Nile Virus because I got bit by a mosquito the other night!!  So, Thanks Dad for freaking me out... I just hope he isn't right!!

I also slept like Crap again last night.  I couldn't seem to get comfortable for anything!!  Then Rowan decided she was going to wake up a little after 2am, needing to go to the potty.  Well after she went, she thought she'd try to sneak into our bed... But her Daddy killed that idea and made her go to her room.  So, she cried for about 20 minutes even though I was laying in her bed with her.  It took me forever to calm her down.  Poor thing.  Still has issues about sleeping in her own bed.  Then the little butt she is woke up at 615 this morning!  I can't believe it... I could have sworn she'd be sleeping in late!!

Then Mr. Zachary decided he'd slept enough (8pm-430am) and he wanted to eat.  Soooo, who gets up to feed him??? Thats right, Me.  So, I got up and fed the little booger and then went back to bed... Tossed and Turned... You know the deal :)

I think I'm going to tell Derek that he owes me a nap this afternoon.  Yep, sounds like a pretty good idea!

So, do you guys know what comes on tonight??  Besides the new season of Football???

So, tonight I'm going to be watching The OC and I think I might even hit up the new show Reunion.  That or I'll DVR it.  I might be too tired to even think of watching TV :D

I will go on my walk today... No matter how good or bad I feel.  I didn't walk yesterday and I'm going to do it today!  It should be a little bit on the cooler side today, so that should help.

I hope that in another week, on the 19th, when I weigh myself again, I'll see something different!!

Anyways...

I'm going to get a-going.  I've got 37 alerts in my book to read and then I need to get my butt working!  I hope everyone has a great Thursday... I know I will, it is my "Friday".

~Feeling Like Poo~

I'm feeling like Poo guys.

Really, I don't know what happened.  I was feeling So good yesterday afternoon and once I got home from my walk and sat down, I realized I wasn't feeling as great as I thought I was.

All of the sudden, my throat starts hurting... My head starts hurting and my nose gets all stuffed up.

I slept like crap last night.  Tossed and Turned.

Couldn't swallow for nothing.  It totally ticked me off.

I woke up this morning feeling like Poo.  Nice word imagery there huh?  Well, it is the truth :)

Now, my throat doesn't hurt too much.  But my nose is still stuffy and that icky feeling of something running down your throat is bothering me... Yuck!

Not even my Venti Non-Fat Pumpkin Spice Latte is helping me feel better.  Actually, it made me feel kind of worse driving in to work.  Almost like I wanted to throw up!  And I hate that feeling...

I just hope as the day progresses that I start to feel better and better.

I keep telling myself... "Get through this day and tomorrow and you'll be off for three days"... So, I am going to get through today :D

Really though, I think it might all be allergies.  It has been windy yesterday and today, so I'm hoping it is that and not me getting a cold.  It just came on too quick for a cold, ya know?

Oh well, I'll get over it!!!  I'm a Trooper... Haha.

Anywho... Enough of me bitching and complaining!  I hate it when I do that!

Derek starts his days off today.  But of course, my dear dear husband doesn't know what a day off is and he is out serving some warrants after only having maybe 4 hours of sleep this morning.  Oh well, OT means extra $$ in our pockets... And we can always use that :D

We are planning on going to Costco today and picking up a few things.  I also want to hit up a Seafood store and buy some fish... That is if I can't find some at Costco.  I've been wanting fish bad and Nae made me want it even more with her picture in her J!!  Hopefully I can find something to make... Or I'll just have to fly over to PA and get some from Nae ;)

Last night I called the place, Wine and Roses, that Derek and I will be staying at next weekend to book some massages for us!  Unfortunetly, they don't do Couple Massages... But I was able to book two massages at the same time.  So, we'll check in there at the hotel around 3pm and get massages at 4pm!  Woo Hoo!  Whole 60 minute ones too!  Nice huh?  I guess you gotta treat yourself every once in a while!

Well, time to run.  I've got a big ol' stack of papers to go through here at work and a bunch of alerts in my In-Box to get to :)

Have a Great Wednesday my Friends!
