~Well~

Well, it looks like Pismo is still a go...

With fingers crossed, we should be heading out tomorrow morning around 9am.

It seems that Rowan just has a virus and as long as we are still giving her tylenol, she should be okay to make the trip.  No ear infection... Nothing else.  Just a virus.

At the doctors office, Rowan was only running at 99.3 temp... When we got home, I gave her more tylenol and before she went to bed she was running at 101.1 temp!!!  Can any one explain that to me??  Goodness.  So, I forced a cold wash cloth on her head, read a book and then she was out cold!

I just hope that this is over and done with by tomorrow morning.

Wish us all luck, okay!

I would do Motrin, then Tylenol 4 hours later, then Motrin 4 hours after that...keep rotating.  Doc always told me to do that but then they got old enough to inflict some serious harm on me if I tried to pin them down to swallow it, so now I let them ride it out.  The fever makes them tired which is a good thing, cuz they need to rest.

Dang viruses!

have fun at Pismo!
I'm sooo jealous.
So about kids and fevers.....::::::putting on my nurses' cap:::::::::I whole-heartedly endorse the tylenol/motrin cocktail. It is a good thing and routine on pedi floors. Now having said that.....as disconcerting as fevers in munchkins are and believe me I get stressed when my kids have fevers like that, #1 a 101.1 temp in a 3 year old is not so bad.....seriously.
#2 a fever 102 or under because it means the body's immune system is working, it's doing it's thang......a VERY good thing. You want those white bloo cells to attack those bugs and the fever indicates they are. Go white cells! The temp will have its ups and downs which is also normal. take your temp at random times during theday. It will have dips and spikes which are all normal. her variations in her temp is a goo indicator as well. Huge swings from 98 to 102 ina 4 hour period is a bit worrisome though.
All and all rest and fluids are the best thing for her but if the girl feels like tap dancing then by all means, let her tap away. just puh the juice and such.
I'm hoping to hear she had  blast at Pismo. Take lots of pics and let me know about the place you will be staying....I am having ideas.
Hugs

Maybe that was a spike of the fever just to kick the last little bit of virus!  I hope so!
