Linguica

Wow.  I've had a few comments about what Linguica is....

I didn't even think that this might be something that is popular out here in California and no where else.

Well, linguica is a Mild (can be made spicy too) Portuguese Sausage that you can BBQ, Fry, Boil or cook any which way.

             linguica.bmp

http://www.amarals.com/

Well, the Hubby prefers to have it boiled when we eat it as a breakfast food, but BBQ'd on a roll with onions is my way to eat it... Haha.

SO, I do hope this helps some people out... Now, I'm wondering if Chorico and Tri-Tip is something only popular here too??

Boys And Their Toys...

purplebutterfly.gifIts a very blustery day, so I thought I'd use a pretty purple butterfly to make me feel like its a nice spring day outside... lol.

Last night was horrible.  The wind just blew and blew.  The rain poured and hit the house so hard, that it woke poor Miss Rowan up.  She did fall asleep on the couch-bed (haha) in our room last night (WOO HOO!) but I woke up with her in my bed around 3am.  I'm guessing that the wind was blowing at the Sun Screens we have on our bedroom windows and it probably scared her.  The couch is right next to the windows, so I'm pretty sure that is what happened.  It was pretty loud... It even woke me up a few times.

I just can't wait for a nice sunny day...

Yesterday the Hubby went to Best Buy and spent almost all of his $100 gift card.  Lol.  Then he convinced me to come back there later when I got home from work to look at Big Screen TV's.  Yep, he got me to go with him.  He has been wanting one for a while now, so, I thought I'd apease him and go.  They are really having some good deals on the TV's there.  In fact, such good deals, that the Hubby talked me into letting him get one.  Ahhh.  I told him the only way we could get one is that he makes his laptop (for work) last a little bit longer.  So, he promised he would.

We are now the proud owners of a Sony 51" HDTV, with silver accents.  But you know how the sales people are.  They freaking talk you into buying all this other junk to go with it.  Like a filter, which if you don't have one, it VOIDS all your warranty.  So, basically, you are pushed into buying that.  Then you have to make sure you buy the correct cords and blah, blah, blah.  But, I would have to say how suprised I was about the prices of the TV's.  They have really dropped.  I do hope he enjoys it...

The Hubby was a little dissapointed because the TV won't be delivered until Sunday and he was hoping to haveit for his last few days off.  Oh well, he'll just have to wait a few more days to play with it.  Lol.

Our dinner last night was yummy.  We had pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon and o'brien potatos.  The Hubby did have linguica, but I passed on that :D  Haha.  Rowan ate sooo much too.  It was kinda funny.  She had two pieces of patty sausage, two pancakes (not really big) and some eggs.  She did try the O'Brien potatos, but she said they were hot on her tongue.  Haha.  I guess the bell peppers in there made it kinda spicy, not to mention that the Hubby likes to put a lot of pepper on them.  She is too silly.

After dinner, Miss Rowan was off to take a bath and I crashed on my bed to play some Nintendo DS.  I was just too tired to do anything else.  Haha.  I think I was asleep by 930pm.  Can you believe that?  If I could, I'd be home today, just relaxing too.  But, I gotta work.

Today after work, I'm going to go home and pick the kiddo up.  Then we'll be off to the mall to get my mom her birthday present.  I'm really not too sure what we'll be getting her, but I know it will be something good.  Actually, I have a pretty good idea of what I'm going to get her, but because she does read my blog, I won't be saying.  Lol.  Sorry Mom, no hints for you today :D

I just hope the weather lets up a little bit before I do make my way to the mall.  I hate taking the kiddo out in the rain and what not.  Its just so dangerous on the roads (I can't believe how some people drive in the rain!!) and its just chilly.  Its only supposed to be 48 degrees today, but with the wind, it will feel more like 40!!  Goodness... too chilly for my bones.

Well, I've gotta get running.  I have a lot to do today.  I have to pack away a bunch of files and then make new 2005 for all of our vendors... argh.  Time consuming and boring.  Lol.

Have a great Thursday ya'll...

Sleepy Girl...

BabyCarebears.gifWell, I'm a tired girl this morning.  I shouldn't be so tired, because I was in bed pretty early.  But I am.  Sleeping has become harder and harder on me.  Plus, last night, we had a little different sleeping arangement.

Yep, you heard me right.  Something about our normal sleeping pattern was changed last night.  Miss Rowan didn't sleep in our bed.  Yes, you read that one right too.  But hey, she didn't sleep in her bed either... lol.  I bet you are wondering what the heck I'm talking about right?  Well, because her sleeping in her own bed wasn't working and we decided that sleeping in our bed is getting too hard on us... That we made a bed for her on our couch in our bedroom.  lol.  Can you believe that?  Well, we did.  And you know what, it worked.  She was out (after a little fussing) around 1045pm and she was still out when I left my house at 645am!  She didn't even move when I got into the shower this morning... And she always wakes up when I turn on the shower/bath.

Sleeping with out her was a little bit different.  And her not waking up really threw me for a loop too.  I would seriously compare it to a infant sleeping through the night... Always wondering if they are okay and not wanting to check on them because you are afraid of what you'd find.  I know it sounds bad... But I actually got up this morning and went over to the couch and put my hand on her back.  Just to check.  Lol.  I'm such a worry wart :D

So, I guess thats why I'm a little tired this morning... Just wasn't used to sleeping with out my little Princess.

Dinner over at my mom's last night was nice.  I was just a bit tired so things were kinda getting on my nerves.  Dinner was yummy.  We were supposed to have tacos, but my mom decided to make enchilladas instead.  Very yummy... Even though I was looking forward to tacos (haha Mom).  I made a yummy guacamole dip for some chips.  I just take the avacado and mush it up.  Then I add some salt, pepper, lemon juice and a bit of chunky salsa and stir it all around!  It tastes so great.  And its easy too.

The Hubby did have to take his Tango-dog (lol, what Ro calls him) back to the vet yesterday.  His incesion from his surgery wasn't looking good, so the Hubby thought he'd better take him back.  Good thing he did, because they said Tango is having a reaction to the sutures (sp?) and if the infection doesn't clear up in 10 days, they'll have to go back in and do more surgery.  Not good... Not good at all.  The more surgeries he has to have, the longer he'll be out.  And there is always the possibility that the city might just say, "Thats enough" and stop paying for him.  That is a BIG maybe... But it could always happen.  And because of his age (6) he does only have about another year and a half left to be a bite dog.  Argh.  Hopefully, with the antibiotics and him staying in the house again, it will get all better.

::crossing fingers::

The Hubby and Miss Rowan are going shopping today.  He is itching to spend some of his gift card money at Best Buy.  What cha think he is going to get??  Yep, video games.  haha.  That boy doesn't need anymore.  I think I'm going to go insane if he spends anymore time playing those video games.  And to think that I didn't help it by purchasing him the Nintendo DS.  Haha.  Thats what I get I guess.  They are also supposed to go to his mom's for lunch.  I'm getting hungry just thinking about what they are supposed to be having... I won't even mention what it is, because not only will it make me hungry, I know it will make a few others hungry too (Lisa... I'm saving you this time!!)

But speaking of food... We are having Breakfast for dinner tonight.  Yum Yum!  I love breakfast for dinner, but the Hubby isn't always up for it.  But for dinner, we are having pancakes, sausage, linguica (for Hubby) and eggs.  Oh yeah!  I even think my friend my come over and I invited my Mom and Brother too.  Gotta give the Mommy a break after having to cook dinner so many nights in a row because of the grandparents being there.  Who knows though, it might just be the three of us.  But hey, it will still be a good dinner (or breakfast!).

partyballoons.bmpCan you all believe that 2004 is going to be over in just about 2.5 days?  It has seriously flown by.  That also reminds me that my mom's birthday is in 2.5 days... Hmm, what to get the New Years Mama??  I have a few ideas.  And now, what to do on New Years Eve?  The Hubby mentioned a party... A Halo2 party... ARGH!!  What is everyone else doing??

Well, I still have a big ol' stack of payables to enter and I'm sure I can find other things to do too... haha.  I would rather be at home in bed with this nasty rain, but you gotta do what you gotta do, huh?

Question for Ya'll

I've come across a possible dilema.  Not too sure yet...

See, we are planning on naming our little man, Zachary, right?

Well, if we short his name, like Jennifer would be Jenn or whatever, do we spell it Zach or Zack?

Does Zach sound the same as Zack??

I would think so... But I was just curious about what the general population would think...

I really like the spelling of Zachary with the "ch" not Zackary, but do you still shorten it the same way???

Goodness... I am goofy... But I'm going to thank you all in advance for your thoughts... hehe

I Feel Huge!! And Other Ramblings...

expecting.bmp I feel huge!  I swear to you all... I've seriously gotten so much bigger in the last few weeks, that I'm getting kinda nervous about how big I'm going to be in the end.  Lol.  I remember last time with Rowan, that around this time, I ballooned up too.  Thats when I found out that I was making too much amniotic fluid... So, I'm wondering if this is the same thing that is happening.  I guess I'll find out if it is all my imagination or if it is happening again, next week at my doctors appt.

Anyways... I'm not going to grumble about being HUGE anymore...

So, our shopping trip yesterday didn't actually happen the way we really wanted it to.  I swear, when we left the house yesterday, we were headed to the next town over to go to Target and then to the grocery store.  But as we were leaving, I swear we were almost blown away.  Haha.  So, we decided that just going to the grocery store in our town and getting a few odds and ends there (that we usually get at Target) was the best plan.  Thank goodness we did because it was sure ugly outside!

I hate going to the grocery store with my Hubby... Lol.  No, I actually love having him shop with me.  But it seems like everytime we shop together, we can't get out of the store with out spending a whole bucket load of money.  Haha.  Plus, shopping while you're hungry (like the Hubby was) always makes you buy more than you need.  The Hubby is also home for the next few days, so we had to make sure that there were plenty of snacks in the house for him and Miss Rowan.  So, needless to say, we spent a little too much.

We also cleaned house yesterday.  Boy, did we need it.  It seemed like Christmas blew up in our house :D  haha.  Plus, we just needed to do our sweeping and mopping.  You really don't realize how much hair and dirt can be found in your house until you get rid of your carpet.  But I guess with two dogs and two cats, its bound to happen.  The Hubby also cleaned out the den/gameroom.  He is getting ready to start redecorating.  He actually told me that he wanted to paint today!  I told him he was crazy because Zachary and Rowan's rooms need to be fixed up before anything else.  Ro's room is already painted, but we still need some shelves and what not in there.  So, no den "pub" until Zachary's room is done... At least.

Tonight we are going to my Mom and Dad's for dinner (sans my Dad because he'll be working).  We will be having Tacos.  Yum Yum.  Plus, we are going to spend some time with my grandparents before they leave tomorrow.  They have to get their Rowan fix... Lol.  Hopefully we'll be able to get home around 8pm to get Rowan onto her schedule.

We've been trying to have her in the bath by 8pm or so, then watching a movie and relaxing before bedtime.  Bedtime is another whole issue, by the way.  Lol.  Needless to say, we still have a family-bed.  She does go to bed in her room, for a little bit, but then is sleeping with us for the rest of the night.  Haha.  Gotta love the little girl though.  She knows how to work her Mama and Daddy.  But you know, she'll take her naps in her bed no problem... So, I guess thats a plus.

Well, I know this isn't a great entry or what not... But I've gotta get to working.  The office is only open today, Wednesday and Thursday... Woo Hoo!  So, I hope all have a great week.

Hugs to all ~Jennifer~

Monday Morning Ramblings...

Mouseintherain.gifWell, this is what the Hubby, Rowan and I will look like in a few hours when we actually get up and around to doing some errands.  It has been storming for a few hours and it doesn't look like it is going to let up.  I would tell the Hubby that we could put off our errands, but we have no food in the house and both the cats and dogs are out of food... So, thats not an option.  We'll just have to brave the wind (my, it is blowing!) and the rain (coming down hard!).

Yesterday was a pretty quiet day.  Rowan and I hung out at home until the hubby left for work and then we were off to my parents house to visit with them and my grandparents.  Pretty basic.  We did have a wonderful meal though.  BBQ'd steak, baked potatos, salad, fresh veggies and of course a wonderful dessert!  Mom really outdid herself... BBQ-ing in the cold and all.  But I guess that is what being a mom is all about huh?  I guess I have yet to learn that trade... lol.

Rowan of course decided she was going to be the entertainment for the evening, singing and dancing for everyone.  I swear, she is such a ham sometimes.  Its too cute though.  She has now started the "Why's" to everything.  Wow, it can be pretty tough sometimes.  Try explaining why its foggy outside to an almost 3 year old!  Or why Daddy has to go to work.  Or why her Uncle Boo went to the Nutcracker... Not something easily done.  LOL.  She comes up with some stuff too... Goodness, this child is a whole lot smarter for her years. .

I want to go to Home Depot today and purchase some shelves for the Princess room.  I really need to fix her room and Zachary's future room up... She has a bunch of Disney snowglobes that I've passed down to her that need to be put up and other little PartyLite Ariana Fairy stuff that need to go up.  Zachary's is going to be harder than hers though.  We've been using that room as a 'catch-all' for the last few years... Ugh.  We need to get started on it though.  Only about 9 more weeks left until he is here.

And once Miss Princess Rowan's birthday comes and goes (Jan 23rd)... It will be here sooner than that!  Oh goodness... I definetly know how to make my blood pressure rise!

Well, even though the Hubby has been asleep for only 5 hours (that damn Halo2) I'm thinking I'm going to go wake his silly butt up.  We've got a storm to get through and stuff to do.  Besides, he is off tonight (and for 5 days straight!!) and can take a nap later... lol.

So, I know these ramblings have been short, but there isn't much to report.  Holy cow that rhymed.  Haha.  I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday.

HUGS TO ALL... Jennifer

Christmas 2004

         MINE.jpg

Well, Christmas 2004 has come and gone.  I do hope each and everyone of you enjoyed yourselves and the time spent with your families.  As you can see from the picture above, Miss Rowan sure did love her Santa present.  She was just too cute about everything.

Daddy decided he couldn't wait for her reaction on Christmas morning, so he woke her up.  Or he tried.  He actually tried a few times... Lol.  What a kid!  We finally were up about 815am and to see the look on her face when she got to the end of the hall, well, it was priceless.

"Mommy, Santa came!  My Purple Bike!"  That is all that I needed to hear to melt my heart for the rest of the day.  haha.  But to hear all her "ooh's and aww's and tank-you's" as she was opening her presents was just as great.

       OuttaMyway.jpg

Here is Miss Thing on her Purple Princess Bike.  She is going to need some work on it, but luckily for her, her Nana and Papa (hubby's parents bought her a tricycle, so, maybe that will help!).  Yes, Santa did provide the helmet too.  There are also knee and elbow pads... Lol.

                   SassyCat.jpg

She also LOVES her Sassy Cat.  This picture was taken before she could get her dressed, but let me tell you, she is the cutest thing in her little outfit.  Rowan was actually able to take only Sassy Cat over to her YaYa and Grandpa's house... Just so we could show her off!  Plus, she didn't want to leave her home.

The Hubby and I also had a wonderful Christmas.  We both think so much alike that we pretty much got each other the same presents.  How funny is that?  We both bought each other 2 pairs of shoes from Vans (mine are white with a pink stripe and the other are blue with a white stripe!  too cute!!), a pair of slippers, perfume/cologne (I got the Britney Spears Curious!), we each got each other a Playstation 2 game, and bought each other the Nintendo DS!  How weird is that!  I guess we are just too much a like... haha.

After we opened all our gifts at home, we took a break.  The Hubby actually took a nap because he had to work last night too.  So, Rowan and I watched one of her movies (I think the Princess Sing-Along one) and just hung out until we heard from my parents, who were coming home from Yosemite.

Then it was off to my parents to open a million and one presents!  Lol.  They were mostly for Miss Rowan, but we did get a few goodies of our own.  My main present from my parents was a Dooney and Bourke purse!  Ooo-la-la. Dooney.jpgThis is what it kinda looks like, but in GRAPE!!  It is sooo cute.  I can't believe they got me one.  But I don't mind (Thanks Mom and Dad!! Love You!!).  They also got me the movie size poster of the VJ-Day picture from Times Square where the sailor is kissing the lady... I just love it and can't wait to find a place for it.  I also got a really cute poncho from my brother... what a sweet heart!

The Hubby also got a few great presents.  He got a really great large Guiness mirror straight from the Guiness store in Ireland.  We are thinking we'll be needing to convert our den/gameroom into a 'pub' just because he is getting so much great stuff to make one.  He also got some Guiness glasses from my brother and a liquor pump from my parents.  See, we need to do something... lol.

Rowan got all kinds of new stuff from her YaYa and Grandpa... Thank goodness it all stays there!  Hehe.  She got the Barbie shopping cart that can scan groceries, play make-up set, a Barbie karoke machine (which was getting loud by the end of the night... and a few other goodies.  Thank goodness this is going to be the last year of her being their only grandchild... Haha.  But I'm sure her and Zachary will be getting just as much, since Christmas is for the children!  And here is Miss Rowan grocery shopping!!

                  GoingGroceryShopping.jpg

Oh yes, I can't leave out the festivities of Christmas Eve!  We all got so much stuff (Miss Rowan came away with 4, yes 4, baby dolls!!!) that it would be too hard and too boring to repeat it all.  haha.  But I'd have to say, we all (every person there) were truly spoiled.  I did get some new PJ's (that I'll be taking with me to the hospital!!) and a soft-soft-soft pink robe.  Woo Hoo.  I'd been needing a new robe.

But maybe this picture of Rowan can sum up all the great time and presents from this weekend:

             Yippee.jpg

Doesn't it look like she was having a blast??  And yes, she was.

I do hope that everyone had a great Christmas and with the year ending, I hope that everyone has a wonderful 2005!  I do have to go now and clean house, because it looks like Christmas exploded in our front room.  And with all of Rowan's new stuff, I need to make some room in her bedroom too... Lol.  Then it will be off to my parents later this afternoon to spend some time with them and my grandparents... Dear Hubby has to work again tonight... But get this ya'll.  He'll be off for the next 5 days!!!  OMG.  What will we do???

Have a great rest of the weekend... I'm still off for the next few days... yippee.  But to all of you that have to go back on Monday, I'll see you on Tuesday :D

HUGS TO ALL...

Christmas Eve is Here!!!

                 Stocking.bmp

Well, Christmas Eve has finally made it here.  Today/tonight starts our celebration of Christmas.  And we are all very excited... Especially Miss Rowan.

This evening we are heading over to our in-laws to celebrate Christmas and pig out... Yum Yum.  We are doing something new and having lasanga and italian style dinner.  Sounds pretty tasty to me...  Then, after dinner, we are going to open presents.  Mind you, there are 12 of us... and each with more than one present... So, you know we'll be there a while!!  Hehe.  I just love to see the looks on everyones faces after they've opened their gifts... Its just as good as getting a great gift of your own.

Tonight, after Princess Rowan is asleep, Hubby and I will set up her Santa Gifts by the fireplace.  The purple Princess Bike and her Sassy Cat will be set out to look like they came straight from the big guy... Lol.  I just can't wait to see her face tomorrow morning... I'm just as bad as a little kid.  I have a hard time sleeping and want to get up early to open gifts.  haha. I'm guessing I'll wait until she wakes up though.

After we have our Christmas at our home, we'll be off to my parents to open presents and snack there.  Dear Hubby does have to work tomorrow evening, so we'll have to start pretty early so he can get to work.  Then there will be a BIG turkey dinner that evening.  He'll have to take his lunch to enjoy it, but luckily he'll be able to!

OOOOhhhh.  Just talking about it all makes me very excited.  Its only 930am and we have to wait until 530pm to get started.  I better find some things to keep my mind occupied.  haha.  I do have a car to clean out (we've been warned it will be filled to the brim!) and one more present for Miss Rowan to wrap.  Hopefully those will take some time up.

Just an update on Rowan... btw, thankyou all for your thoughts and suggestions.  I don't think having her in our bed is something we did wrong though.  I just believe it MIGHT be time for her to move to her own bed because we will be having a new one sleeping in the room (in a bassinet) and he might be waking her up... So, truthfully, its all for her sleep that I'm trying to get her in a big girl bed.

She did take a nap in her room yesterday all by herself just fine.  No crying or fighting it.  She was out in about 5mins.  Last night was a different story though.  It took a while to get her down and then she was up again at 1230am.  Daddy went to bed with her (and ended up falling asleep!!), but she came crawling into my bed around 330am (while Daddy was still in her room... lol).  So, we'll keep working on it... she might take to it... she might not.  I'm not going to stress on it.  And besides, sleeping with other family members is something that is practiced around the world (thank you for that reminder Lisa!! Love ya!!).

So, I'm going to run now.  I probably won't make it to the computer much over the next few days with the Holiday and my grandparents coming up... So, to all in J-Land, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy Holiday!

HUGS TO ALL... Jennifer

Nighttime Update and Other Ramblings

                                     merrychristmasreindeer.gif

Thank  you all for all your best wishes and suggestions about getting Miss Princess to sleep in her own bed.  I thought it was going well for a while, but hey, thats where thinking got me.

She watched her Mickey movie just fine... and that probably had a lot to do with the fact that I was in there watching the movie with her.  After that was over, I put on her Disney Princess music (music from the movies like Beauty and the Beast, but no words... just instrumental) and tried to leave... Haha.  She had other ideas.

I told her Big Girls sleep in their own beds... I got crying in return.  I told her if she slept in her bed tonight (for at least most of the night) she could get a Vanilla shake today... There was more crying.  Finally, I told her that Santa only brings little girls what they ask for if they sleep in their own beds.  I know, harsh, but hey, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

She cried some more.

At one point, I had to go use the restroom, after she calmed down and was just laying there quietly (I thought I'd leave her and she'd fall asleep...), but by the time I was done using the restroom and heading back to her room, she broke out into hysterics!

By the time I got back into her room, she was so hysterical and gagging hersefl from crying that she THREW UP on her darn quilt!  OMG!  It was horrible.  Luckily she didn't throw up on her PJ's (brand new ones that I was using to get her to sleep in her room...yeah go figure...) and no where else on the bed.

So, she was even more upset about that.  I took the quilt off the bed and brought in another blanket and she finally calmeddown.  It was looking good.  I sat with her until she fell asleep and snuck out of her room.  It was 951pm.  Not bad, I told myself.

I then proceeded to go to bed.  I woke up at 1050pm to use the restroom and thought to myself, the Hubby (who was working) hadn't called me back like he said he was going to.  Could I have jinxed myself anymore???

As I was literally walking out of the bathroom, the phone rang.  It was him... Of course.  And of course, who woke up?  Yep, you got it.  Princess Rowan did.  Argh!!!!

She managed to fall back to sleep, only to be woken up again when Daddy came home through the front door to get something he had forgotten... I could have killed him.

Needless to say, we'll be back at square one tonight with her (yep, she ended up back in my bed!!).  Luckily, the Hubby will be home to help me out though.  I also think I'll be putting her down for her naps in her room instead of on the couch where she likes them... Really put the thought of her sleeping in her bed into her mind.

Oh yes... Zachary will NOT be sleeping in my bed after he is born either... No way.  This is way too hard to break.

Anywho...

Today is going to be a pretty quiet day.  The Hubby didn't get home until about 430am, so he is going to sleep a while before anything can get done.  Can't be too loud or we'll wake him up.

We'll probably just go to lunch and then play Santa this evening.  Thats always fun.  Rowan is looking forward to opening presents too... Maybe I'll be able to bribe her with presents and sleeping in her own bed.  HAHA.

Tomorrow is a big day for our family... Its our FIRST Christmas celebration.  We are all very very excited.  And can you believe, that day after tomorrow is Christmas Day??  WOO HOO.  I can't wait to see Rowan's face when she sees her Purple Princess Bike... I'll take pictures, I promise!

But for now, I must run.  Its about time I get up and dressed.  Woo Hoo.  Just what I want to do.  I do hope you all have a wonderful Thursday and if I don't make it back to J-Land before Christmas...

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all...

Hoping for Good Luck...

babyangel.jpg My dear little daughter is on her first night in her room/own bed.  She has had a bath and is now watching her Christmas movie (Mickey Mouse Twice Upon a Christmas) in her room.

She has already managed to 'escape' once... To me in here on the computer.  Fake crying and all... Wanting a drink.

Off to bed she went again, after a sip of my soda (I know, I know...).  I hope this isn't going to be hard.

But I'm not going to hold my breath.

Wish me luck J-Land... And if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please let me know.  I'm up for pretty much all of it :D

Oh yes... Thanks to all who were at the Holiday Ball tonight... It was wonderful to chat with ya (especially you Barbie... You are a crack up... weeee... :D )  Hopefully next time we'll see more people in there...

Happy Holidays and Hugs to All...

Jennifer

Farewells and Countdowns...

                          christmaspenguins.jpg

Well, its about time for me to say good-bye... No, not to J-Land or my J-Land friends, but good-bye to work.  Okay, for at least 5 days that is.  Yep!  You heard me, after 330pm today, I'm going to be off work for 5 whole days.  WOO HOO.  Can you say mini-vacation?  Yes, I'm sure you can.  LOL.  I'm really excited too.  I'm sure no one can tell that though.

Tonight does start a hard job for me though.  Tonight, I'm embarking on a new territory.  Tonight, I'm going to start to try to get Rowan to sleep in her own room... Ah, yes, the dreaded task.  But, because I will be home for the next 5 days, not having to worry about when I need to get up, I'm going to take the time and get her to sleep in her big girl bed.  Please, wish me luck!  Its going to be hard... on both of us :)

sleigh.bmpThe countdown to Christmas is only 3 days... Or!  2 days until Christmas Eve.  If you think about it, "Christmas Eve is the day after tomorrow"... haha.  Now, I bet some of you are going to want to kill me after I said that, but hey, I'm excited.

Last night, the Hubby put together Miss Rowan's purple Princess Bike.  The poor guy, he really had a hard time with it too.  He is/was so used to putting together expensive bikes (from when he was younger and BMX-ing) that putting together a $60 bike was hard for his nerves.  LOL.  He only wants the best for his Baby Girl, but hey, she isn't even 3 and I think she'll enjoy her PURPLE PRINCESS bike just fine.  Haha.

I didn't have to go play Santa last night.  We ended up just staying at our house and having another couple come over to exchange presents instead.  That was a whole lot better for us, because I didn't want to take Rowan out in the cold anyways.  The present I got for them was made by Nadine over at N2Glass.  If you go to her site, you can see it for yourself.  It is under the "Whats New", the wedding set.  It was perfect, because she did them in her wedding colors.  (This was for my friend who's wedding I was in!).  I think she really liked them... I know I would have.

Tomorrow night, we are going to my best friends house (Auntie Amy) to exchange presents.  I actually think the Hubby will be going too.  I'm not sure though, because he works tonight and part of tomorrow, but I'm hoping he does.  I do have to go pick up the present that I'm getting for her and her bf, but I can do that before I go to their house.  I am going to go get them 2 tickets to the movies, because they never get to go out!  So, I thought that would be a nice little couple present, along with her individual presents (a mirror by Nadine and a purse).

So, I mentioned the Hubby is working tonight.  He is going to be working a DUI check point, but I don't like him doing that, especially with the fog.  It drives me nuts knowing that they are standing out there on a busy road and a drunk driver could be flying down the same road.... Argh.  Then, he is going to do dog training at 230am with the other dog handler.  Can you say crazy??  So, he should be home Thursday somewhere around 830-9am.  But that means he'll be sleeping most of the day and I'll have to find something to do with Rowan so we don't wake him... I'm so glad he doesn't work graves...

I still can't believe how quickly this month has flown by.  It seems like yesterday I was saying there was 50 some-odd days until Christmas and now its only 3 days away.  I sure hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday and enjoys their time with their family and gets all that they've wished for christmasturtle.jpg.

Well, I think I've rambled enough for today.  I do hope that I get to come back to J-Land before Christmas and see what else is going on with everyone and to again, wish you a Merry Christmas.

HUGS TO ALL... Jennifer

Whats Going On?

Whats going on?  I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem.  Let me explain...

I'm getting my AOL Alert pop-ups... But not via email.  I'm also not getting alerts when some makes a comment and I know I've hit the button to alert me when a comment is posted.

Weird...

Am I the only one that this is happening to?  Or is it an AOL thing?  Could ya let me know?

And yes, I'll be back to check the comments since I don't know if I'll be receiving the alerts... lol.

HUGS TO ALL... Jennifer

Tuesday....

DecemberCalendar.jpg Can  you believe it?  If you look at the calendar, there are only 4 days until Christmas... Goodness... I am getting sooo excited, because Rowan is getting so excited.  She can't seem to wait until Friday night to open presents.  If Daddy had his way, she'd be opening one present a night until Christmas, but that just won't fly!

And of course, just a few days before all the festivities, I think I'm getting a cold.  Argh.  I woke up this morning feeling like doggie-doo and it just won't go away.  I've got the sniffles and the stuffiness.  And I'm extremely tired, even though I was asleep pretty early last night.  Wish me luck that I don't actually get sick.  Being sick for the holidays blow...

Yesterday evening was nice at our house.  My brother is home from UC Davis for Christmas, so he and my mom came over for dinner last night.  We had carne asada sandwiches, brocolli and potatos.  Oh so yummy.  Especially because I sauted onions and mushrooms to put on them!  Oh yeah... But spending time with my brother is always a great thing.  And to see him and Rowan play, "Chase me Uncle Boo"... Haha.  Its too cute!  She was very happy to have him there.

I was so tired last night, from the lack of sleep from the night before, that I actually feel asleep on the couch around 9pm!  Can you believe it?  I guess after a long day, a nice stuffing dinner and then a warm bath, I was ready for bed.  Then I was actually in bed around 10pm fast asleep.  That is, until the darn cat knocked over a ceramic cat food bowl onto our floor in our bedroom.  Mind you, we have hardwood floors, so there was a very large CRASH that woke me up.  Luckily for me, the Hubby was still up (I'll get to that in a minute!!) so he came in and cleaned it up for me.  I didn't have to get out of my warm bed... Woo Hoo.

Okay all.  My husband has an addiction.  Its not to drugs or the drink.  Its to his stupid XBOX Liveand Halo2!  Oh my goodness.  I can't seem to pull the boy away from his game.  He even has Rowan going around talking about "Master Chief" (the main character!).  Do you think he has a problem?  Um, yep, he does.  I don't think he has come to bed the last few days before 3am.  The other morning, I swear he was up until 430am playing the game.  I understand that the poor boy has his body clock all messed up (due to his work schedule), but come on... I am so going to grab that game and take it away from him.  I'm going to hide it somewhere until he forgets about it.  Yeah, like that will work.  Not.  Plus, he got his older brother addicted to the point where he went out and purchased the XBOX and is now up to all hours playing Live Halo2 with him... UGH.

And it probably doesn't help that I got him more video games (for his PS2) and hardware (Nintendo DS) for Christmas.  Man, what was I thinking??

Tonight I need to go and play Santa Clause and deliver some presents to some friends.  I'm not sure who I will actually be able to get presents to, but hey, I'll just have to try.  I hate to have presents under my tree, unopened, after Christmas.  Plus, I don't like to give presents after Christmas... Christmas is passed.  They need to get to the people before Christmas, but hey, that is just me.  And you just have to always remember, we all run out of time...

Speaking of time.  I believe its time for me to run.  Not really run, since that would be a pretty funny sight with my big ol' belly... But run as in having to go do some work.  I gotta print the payroll checks (woo hoo) and go spend some of the company's money paying out bills.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.... Hugs to all... Jennifer

Ps. I'm ....

It's Monday Already???

                        bearxmasglobe.gif

Goodness where have I been?  This weekend is a blur to me now and I can't believe it is Monday already.  I also can't believe that I wasn't able to squeeze in an entry or two over the weekend, so I'm going to try and update you all... I just hope I don't bore you all to death while trying to do so.

Lets start with an update about Miss Rowan's last day of gym class, last Thursday evening.  I did decide to take her afterall.  I just couldn't imagine her not going to the last class and saying good-bye.  She had a good time, besides one 'melt-down', and was able to say "ta-ta" to her friends and coach.  She seems really excited about starting her "Big Girl" class in a few weeks... I'm sure she'll enjoy it.

We did also have a 'Girls Night' on Thursday... My friend and I enjoyed a horrible dinner from Jack in the Box (I know! How weird) and watched "The O.C.".  It was nice to just spend some grown-up time and chat with her... Even if Miss Ro was around.  LOL.

Friday was a very busy day for us all.  We were up early that morning because we had a picture appt. for Rowan to take Christmas pictures.  Our appt. was at 1050am and we didn't get her pictures taken until about 1115am!  Argh.  But I would have to say, Rowan did a great job (and yes, I'll be posting the pictures!!) and we were able to get some really nice pictures out of it.

After the picture appt., my mom and I were off to get our hair done.  Grandpa was watching the Little Princess, so we were able to have some "Girl Time".  I added a little bit more blonde into my hair because the old stuff was fading and because the Hubby asked me too.  I am not done with my brunette faze, so whatever blonde I do put in makes him happy :D  lol.  After the hair appt., my mom and I were off to pick her car up from the shop and then back to the mall to pick out Ro's pictures.  Goodness, remind me never to go to the mall around 5pm the weekend before Christmas.  Crazy Crazy!

Rowan and I spent the evening with my parents because the Hubby was at work.  We enjoyed some yummy Chinese food and some TV.  My parents wanted me to leave Rowan with them so I could have a free evening, but Miss Thing wasn't having it.  She wanted to come home with Mommy... hehe.  So, we went home around 8pm and it took us almost 20mins to get home!  Darn Fog!

Saturday was a really lazy day for us all.  I swear, I didn't do much.  I did do some laundry and what not, but I didn't leave my house.  It was just too cold and I didn't want to deal with all those crazy holiday shoppers.  My parents did stop by to say hi in the evening, but other than that, it was a pretty quiet day.

Sunday was just as lazy.  We didn't get up out of bed until almost 10am and then we were back in bed for a nap at 230pm!  LOL.  How silly are we?  I will not take another nap that late in the afternoon again though.  By the time we woke up, it was 5pm and I wasn't able to sleep last night.  I last time I remember looking at the clock, it was 12am!  Argh.

We did go for a walk last night though around the neighborhood to see all the pretty lights.  Rowan really enjoyed it and I'm a little bit jealous to see all the pretty houses.  We never did get our lights up this year... I know, I know... But I'm not about to climb up onto the house and the Hubby was just too busy to do so.  I'm just hoping that next year, we'll be able to.

This week is a short week for me.  WOO HOO.  I'm only working Mon-Wed because of the Holiday.  I would be working Thursday, but my parents are spending a few days up in Yosemite for Christmas, and I wouldn't have a babysitter for Thursday (hubby works).  So, lucky me will have Thursday off too!  I'm sooo excited.  Miss Rowan knows Christmas is right around the corner too.  She is always telling us about the presents under the tree and how we can't open them until Christmas.  It is too cute.

CHRISTMAS EVE IS ONLY 4 DAYS AWAY!!!!

I can't believe it.  Christmas is just around the corner.  I sure hope everyone is ready.  I have a whole 3 presents that need to be wrapped and then I will be finished... Woo Hoo.  I'm really excited to see Rowan open all her presents EVERYWHERE we go.  We have a total of 3 Christmas'.  We have Christmas Eve at my In-laws, then have Christmas morning at our house and then Christmas day at my parents.  Whew.  What a few days we'll have, huh?  A whole lot of fun though!

Well, I'm hoping I will be able to make it to everyones journal and see whats going on.  I'm going to have to go now and do some work.  I hope everyone has a great few days leading up to Christmas!  Have a great Monday.

HUGS TO ALL.... Jennifer

Sleepy Thursday and One More Set of Q&A

                                              OldFashionSanta.jpg

I'm extremely tired this morning.  I hate to be a complainy pregnant lady, but its hard not to be when you don't get the rest you want or need.  Lol.  Getting comfortable in bed is something that I wish for and rarely get... And a full nights sleep has seemed to fly out the window.

Not only do I get up a few times a night (I'm talking between 3-5) to use the potty, but because Rowan is sick, she wakes up which in turn wakes me up.  Last night she woke me up talking in her sleep a few times.  Then she was up at 3am trying to get out of bed to go to the couch (in the frontroom) to watch a movie.  I don't know if she was really awake or possibly sleep walking/talking (thank you meds!), but it was actually kinda funny.  Then when I got up at 415am to use the potty, she woke up all stuffy and said she wanted medicine and needed a drink.  So, after she went potty (something else she mentioned) she ran to the kitchen and demanded some water.  Its funny how an almost three year old can wake up so quickly.  After she got her meds and water, it was time to go back to bed... Thankfully she feel back to sleep, but I on the other hand, didn't have it so easy.

You know how it is when you wake up too early and you know you only have so much time before you actually have to get up... And you kinda fall asleep and toss and turn and keep looking at the clock to see how much longer you have?  Well, thats how I was this morning.  And when 545am rolled around, I so didn't want to get up!  Argh.  But I did...

Last night was pretty boring.  The Hubby had SWAT training all day and then the whole team was going out to dinner.  Where did they go to dinner?  A brand new resturant that I've been wanting to go to, Tahoe Joe's.  I was a tid-bit jealous, mind you.  Haha.  But really, I didn't mind him going out last night... He thought I did, but I didn't.  I was just giving him a hard time because he put on aftershave and cologne.  Lol.  He did wear his wedding band, something he doesn't do often (he says its a safety hazard at work), so that made me happy :D  He is so funny about his wedding band... Like it will ward of any Badge Bunny that thinks he is cute.  Haha.

Rowan and I had a wonderful dinner last night... Fish Sticks and Mozarella Sticks... haha!  Rowan also had mac & cheese, but I was just fine with Fish Sticks and Mozarella Sticks.  All the while, I knew the Hubby was having a tasty dinner (Prime Rib and Mashed Potatos with appetizer... argh!).

I did happen to catch that show, "Nanny 911" last night.  Goodness, those kids on that show were horrible!  I'm sorry, but a 3 and 4 year old should not be hitting their mom in the face to the point where she is crying.  They shouldn't be hitting and biting either, but hey, thats just my thought on the subject.  Then, the Nanny made the mom and dad make the kids give up their pacifiers.  Oh goodness, those kids were up and down all night (until like 5am) screaming and crying because they didn't have their sippy cups and pacifiers.  Craziness if you ask me.

Anywho...

Today is Thursday, which means that its my Friday!  Yippee.  Plus, its also Rowan's last gymnastics class for two weeks.  But the thing is, she is still sick!  I don't know if I'm going to take her.  Its not right to expose those other kiddos to her germs and if she gets too active, it could make her worse!  Argh.  Its sad though, because this is her last class with those batch of kids... She moves up to the next course on Jan 3rd.  So, I don't know what I'm going to do...

So, either tonight will be gym night or not... I know my friend is going to be dropping off my PartyLite stuff tonight though.  WOO HOO.  And I think we'll make it an "O.C." night.  Hehe... Gotta have a girl night.

Okay, now on to my latest batch of questions...

From Heather~

1). You are told you have to give up either sight or the ability to talk. Which do you choose?

*I think I would choose to loose the ability to talk.  There are sooo many beautiful things to see, and if you can't talk, you can still communicate via sign language and other methods.

2). How did you meet your husband?

*Um, I've answered this one, but I'll tell you all again... We met in highschool, while he was working at the local grocery store.  I was there shopping with my mom and knocked something off the shelf at the same time he was walking down the aisle.  Well, he made fun of me and what not... So, we kinda made a friendship.  He then became the "bad-boy" that I would run to when I got tired of my "good-boy" boyfriends.  haha.  Sad, I know, but its true and I was in high school.  A couple of years after we both graduated, we hooked up again and from then on, it was history...

3). How did your husband propose?

*My husband took me to a place up here called Knights Ferry.  Its a historical landmark with a covered bridge and it was one of the first places we went together... He has told me that was the place where he realized he loved me.  So, he took me there one day (mind you I was like 6mons preggo) to go take pictures (what we did on the first trip there) and have a picnic lunch.  Well, he took me down by the river and took a stick and wrote in the sand, "Derek and Jennifer = Love".  Well, he was behind me and I was trying to take a picture when he spun me around and had my ring (which I thought wasn't supposed to be ready for another two weeks!!!) and asked me to marry him.  Aww, isn't he sweet??

Okay all, I've been doing this for a while now... I suppose it is time for me to get to working.  I hope you all have a wonderful day!  Oh yes, Christmas Eve is only 8 days away!!!

HUGS TO ALL... Jennifer

Doctors Appt. Update and Answers to More Questions

Baby_blocks.gif So yesterday I went to my doctors appointment and all is well.  I did happen to gain 6.5lbs in 3 weeks though!  Holy Cow.  I was sure blown away by that.  So, all and all, I've only gained about 8lbs so far (remember, I lost a bunch in the begining).  I guess I can't complain about that.  I just hope that I won't be gaining as much as I did with Rowan (a whopping 54lbs!!)- and I doubt I will since I'm already 28wks along- but you never know!!

They also took my blood pressure via machine and what it said really suprised me!  According to the machine, it said my blood pressure was 140/75!!  I have never had my blood pressure that high... never.  So, after the doctor did his thing, he had the tech come in and take my pressure manually.  When she did that, it was only 120/60... Pretty normal for me.  I don't know if the machine was off or if I had really had my pressure that high, but I did feel better after the girl took it again and it was much lower.

Oh yes, I asked the doctor when he'd be scheduling my c-section.  He said he wouldn't be doing that until the last week in January, if not the first week in February.  Bummer deal... But he did tell me that it will be the last week in Feb sometime.  So, I guess Hubby will just have to work with that.

babyboy.gifThe doctor also went over my last ultra sound with me.  Zachary's kidneys have stablelized and have not gotten any bigger... What a blessing.  That means we won't be doing another ultra sound (unless something else comes up) and that the only thing we'll do is tell Zachary's doctor after he is born.

And some other really good news... I passed my glucose test with flying colors.  WOO HOO!

Other than that, yesterday was pretty boring.  I did manage to fold a HUGE pileof laundry that I've been putting off... Aren't ya'll proud of me?  And the Hubby, Rowan and I enjoyed a really smashing meal of BBQ'd steak and baked potatos.  Yum Yum.  After that, I was in bed at 9pm and out like a light by 935!  So, you can probably guess that I got some good sleep last night!

Okay, so on to answer more questions and their answers....

From Jackie~

1). Describe the town you live in?..whats special about it to make you enjoy living there?

*Hmm, interesting question.  The town that Hubby and I chose to move to is about 10-15mins from basically everything, so its pretty slow.  It is an old town, that is having new growth coming in (about 500 new homes!).  The town is quiet and has a population of about 6000 (so far!).  Two blocks from our house is the country... And I'm talking country.  Horses, farms, cows and tractors... Lol.  Its just a really cute place to live... Plus its close to our families!

2). If you could have free, painless, plastic surgery on ONE part of your body...what would you have done?

*Now thats an easy question to answer... Actually, I'm kinda stuck between two.  I would definetly be interested in a tummy-tuck (thanks to c-sections, you are never the same!!) and a breast lift (breastfeeding!!).  But I guess I'd have to pick the tummy-tuck because you can always buy a good bra to lift those boobies up!  LOL.

3). Tell us about the siblings you have?...How many and such:)

*I have one brother who is younger than me.  He'll be turning 21 in April and is attending UC Davis.  He plays on a league hockey team there (woo hoo!) and had been dating a wonderful girl for the last 2 years... They are planning on getting married the summer of 2007.  I love the boy to death and he is a wonderful Uncle Boo to Miss Rowan.

From Miss Lisa~

1). Has your hubby ever worked on a case where he was disturbed emotionally for some time afterwards?  If so, what was it about (without giving away too many details naturally, privacy laws, etc., etc.)?

*You know, my Hubby plays the part of a very tough man... But he does get bothered by somethings.  Right after Rowan was born, maybe a month or so, he got a call about an unresponsive baby.  My Hubby and his partner were the first on the scene (yes, even before the fire and ambulance).  When they arrived, they found a baby (around 5-7mons old) limp and blue.  The baby had been sick the last few days and the mom had been up with him all night.  Well, the baby finally feel asleep after the mom had been rocking him in a recliner.  She needed to get up and go to the restroom, so she put him down on the chair to sleep.  On her way back, she decided to leave the baby and lay on the bed.  She woke up a few hours later to find that the baby had rolled and fallen, face first, inbetween the chair and the leg extension (where you put your feet up) onto a pillow.  Because she couldn't hear him cry, he suffacated.  Very sad.  Needless to say, the Hubby (who had tried to resesitate the baby) was very upset about the incident and basically came home and held Rowan for hours on end.  I still think he is upset about it to some point...

2). Are pickles REALLY made from cucumbers?  LOL!  Had to ask that one for my kids.

*Haha... Yes, pickles are really made from cucumbers.  After the cucumbers are harvested, they are put into big brine barrels.  After that, they are processed.

3). Do you believe in reincarnation?  If so, has something ever triggered a "memory"?

*I would have to say yes to that... But I don't think I've ever had a memory.  I would definetly like to look into that though...

From Angel~

1). What is the most fascinating... "I just can't put it down" book that you've ever read?

*Anything written by Anne Rice is pretty hard for me to put down.  I also had a hard time putting down the Harry Potter novels... But really, if I find a book that I really like, its hard for me to put it down.

2). How does your pregnancy with Zachary, differ from your pregnancy with Princess Rowan?

*This pregnancy has been a little different.  I would say the first thing that was different was how soon we found out.  I found out I was pregnant with Zachary around 4wks along, when I didn't find out I was pregnant with Rowan until about 9.5wks along.  Nothing would come out positive with Rowan... no blood test, no pee test.  Not until 9wks along!  Crazy, I know.  Then the other thing was how bad my morning sickness was.  I was sick with Rowan, but nothing compared to this time... And it lasted longer too!  Other than those things and how I'm caring Zachary, there isn't much difference.

3). How is Rowan taking to the fact that she has baby brother on the way?

*I guess Rowan is getting excited.  She wants to rock Zachary and feed him... She knows he is in my belly and talks to him and wants to feel him move, but I guess the true test will be when he gets here.

Well, I would say that is just about it for me today... I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.  We are having our Christmas party at work today, so hopefully that will be fun!  If you still want to ask questions, be my guest...

HUGS TO ALL... Jennifer

-Answering Questions-

Okay, I received two sets of questions this evening...

From Kathi~

1). Are you and Hubby planning on having more babies after Zachary?

*As of right now, no, we aren't.  We figure we have two hands and we'll have two babies.  But you never know... Plus, we are both so young (him 24 and I am 22), things might change somewhere down the road... So, you never know :D

2). Where did you find Rowan's name?

*I found Rowan's name in an Anne Rice book, "The Witching Hour".  Actually, my mom did, but because she wasn't going to have anymore kids (hehe) I figured I'd name my daughter that... And I did.  It happens to have an Irish heritage, which I have... Plus, it had a witchy-strong willed-independent feeling about it... And Rowan has definetly turned out like that...

3). If you could have one dream job, what would it be?

*Sorry, but my dream job really wasn't working at a Pickle Factory... lol.  Although I do love my job and the people I work for, I've always wanted to be in Law Enforcement.  Haha.  How ironic was it that I married a cop??  But because my Hubby is already one, there is no way I'd make my kids have two parents that work crazy shifts... Another reason why I won't be a nurse or a paramedic.

From Fuzslady~

1). How did you meet your husband?

*Okay, this would definetly have to be a whole entry to itself... But I try to make it short.  I met my husband while we were both still in high school and had an on-again-off-again kind of relationship.  We originally met at the local grocery store where he worked... I was walking down the aisle with my mom and knocked somethingover as he was coming down the opposite way, and he made fun of me.  Basically, he was the 'bad-boy' I'd always run to when I got bored with my 'good-boy' boyfriends... lol.  Sorry, but it is the truth.  We lost touch after he graduated (plus I didn't want anything to do with him) and somehow, while he was going through the police academy, I sent a mass-email out (which was sent to him) and he emailed me back... From then, it is as they say, "History".

2). How did you feel when you found out you were pregnant?

*With Rowan, it was utter shock and totally unexpected.  I was 19 and in school, the Hubby was just barely on the police force and only 21.  So... It was unexpected, but not unwanted... Definetly not.  With this pregnancy, we were trying.  And after one miscarriage, to find out we were pregnant, we were happy, but hesitant.  Very excited though!!

3). What 3 things would you want with you if you were stranded on a deserted island, besides your family of course?

*A good book, something to start fire and some food... Pretty basic, huh?

Great questions you guys... I can't wait to answer more...

HUGS,

Jennifer

It is Tuesday and I'm Jumping On the Bandwagon

               3snowmen.gif

Its Tuesday ya'll.  That means its almost the middle of the week!  Which means, that the weekend is closer to being here than it was yesterday.  LOL.  Actually, I'm in the middle of the week already... Because I don't work on Fridays... But because I'm nice, I was thinking of you all too.

Okay.  So yesterday I did leave work early to go get my errands done and then go home and take care of the Princess.  The poor girl was very excited to see me, but she was still caring around her klenex and blowing her nose (how cute is that?).  She was definetly in better spirits but still not feeling 100% herself.  I just hate seeing her sick.  At least she doesn't mind taking her meds.  She says that it tastes like juice... Which kinda bugs me, because I don't want her even thinking its juice... But at least I know she can't get to the meds if she was 'thirsty'.

I did make it to the mall yesterday afternoon.  I was really suprised to see it as packed as it was at 115pm!  Really, there were people everywhere.  Luckily I was in and out in about 40 mins.  I took the shoes I bought for the Hubby back to the Vans store and exchanged them for another size.  Then I was off to Build-A- Bear to build Miss Rowan that kitty cat.  Oh my gosh!  That place is crazy.  I have never actually been in one before.  They have sooo much stuff and you can sooo get carried away with what you buy for the stuffed animal.  Can you all guess that I did?  Yeah, I made Rowan her cat (Sassy Cat is her name) and then purchased her the clothes, shoes, sunglasses and an animal carrier bag to go with it!  So, you can all guess that I didn't make it out of the store under $50!!  I was astonished at how much I spent... But I couldn't go back and not get it for Rowan.  I just about fell in love with Sassy Cat myself :D

I just hope she loves it too...

After the mall, I got into the car and headed to the grocery store... Listening intently to the jurors verdict of Scott Peterson.  Mind you, I live about 10 miles away from where they lived... Its very big news here... So, of course I was paying attention.

Anywho... I did my grocery shopping and headed home.  The Hubby made a wonderful dinner of Stuffed Bellpeppers last night... Oh it was soo good.  We also watched Harry Potter 3.  It was good, but I still enjoyed the books more.  I just can't wait for the next one to come out!!  Hurry Up J.K. Rowling!  I need some new reading material!  LOL.

Other than that, our evening was pretty quiet.  The Hubby did tell me that he has to go serve some kind of search warrant this afternoon and won't be able to go with me to my doctors appt.  Bummer deal... Although him going to work will get some OT on his paycheck... And at least he will be home tonight too.  So, I guess I can't complain.  He is also going to make me another yummy dinner... BBQ'd steak, baked potato and veggies... Oh yeah!

Just another friendly reminder...

CHRISTMAS EVE IS ONLY 10 DAYS AWAY...

I can't believe it.  This year has flown by and this month seems to be blowing away with every burst of breeze we get.  Rowan will be 3 next month and in just about 11 weeks, there will be a new addition to my family!  Oh goodness... I better stop thinking about it because I'm going to start to hyperventilate (sp?)!!  LOL.

Okay, I'm going to jump on the bandwagon that is going around here and throw out the whole "You can ask me 3 questions" thing... I hope to get some good questions and answer as many as possible.  Can't promise you anything though :D

Well, I'm off for now.  I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!

HUGS TO ALL... Jennifer

Hey Santa, I'm Ready....

                        HappyHolidaysSnowman.bmp

Hey Santa... Christmas Eve is only 11 days away... Are you ready?  Because I know I am.

Yep folks... You heard me right.  I'm all ready for Christmas!  I've got all my presents wrapped and under the tree (minus a few of Rowans that I couldn't do infront of her yesterday) and all the gifts bought!  Woo Hoo.  Christmas could be tomorrow and I so wouldn't stress.

Yesterday was busy for me.  I was up at 8am and on my way to Target at 850!!  Miss Rowan didn't understand why we were leaving so early and not heading to her YaYa's!  LOL.

Target was sooo quiet!  I was really suprised.  I guess with it being Sunday and so early, people weren't out and about yet.  So, I got in to Target and all my shopping done with in an hour and headed home!  It was soo nice.

When I got home... I started cleaning house.  We pretty much cleaned house on and off all day long.  But when I got tired of cleaning house, I started to wrap.  I swear, I wrapped from 1130am to 330pm!!  Can you believe that?  I do still have some presents to wrap, all of which are Miss Rowans, but I'll have to wait for a time when she is napping or not home to do so.  I just can't believe that I'm pretty much done.  Its wonderful!

I do have to go back to the mall today though.  I bought the Hubby two pairs of shoes from the Van store (it was buy one and get the next pair half off!) and I didn't check to make sure that the shoe was the right size.  Well, when I went to wrap it yesterday evening, it said 10.5 when I know I asked for an 11!  Argh.  So, I have to go back and exchange them.

I'm also going to go to the Build-A-Bear Factory and make Rowan a kitty.  She is too cute... She is called Sassy Kitty and I'm thinking Rowan will just love to have her!  So, thats another present under the tree for Miss Rowan!  I think we'll just be putting Sassy Kitty in the front basket of her new purple Princess bike though (which is from Santa)... Show her that she can put her babies in there.  LOL.

Rowan is home sick with her Daddy today.  She woke up yesterday with the sneezes and sniffles.  She even has a little bit of a cough, but I think that is from her runny nose.  Well, she went to sleep last night okay, but woke up at 215 this morning cranky.  The poor thing.  She couldn't get comfortable or happy.  So, at 330 this morning, the Hubby took her to the frontroom so I could get some sleep and let her just be.  The poor girl didn't go back to sleep until about 615 this morning and is still asleep now (almost 930).  I guess Hubby's plans for shopping are going to be put off until at least this afternoon, if not tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow... I have a doctors appt.  Its just a monthly check up (3 weeks from last time though), but hopefully he'll be able to tell me whats going on with Zachary's kidneys.  I know the problem is still there, I just want to make sure we won't have to intervine (sp?) or anything like that.  Plus, I'm hoping they'll give me a date of when they are scheduling my C-Section.  Hubby needs the date to get all his time off worked out with work and what not.  If not this appt, I'm hoping the next.  I'm wondering how early they schedule things like that???

Well, I know I've rambled on enough now about nothing.  I've gotta get going and do some things because I'm hoping to leave a little early.  I hope you all have a wonderful week!

HUGS TO ALL... Jennifer

Saturday Mumblings

                             OldtymeSanta.jpg

We're having a very quiet Saturday here at our house... We haven't done much of anything but sit around and enjoyed each others company.  Thats okay though, we need time to just hang out together and relax every once in a while.

So, Miss Rowan and I were up at 9am.  Not too bad for going to sleep around 930 last night :D  Lol.  Yeah, I know... Pretty early to bed, but hey, you do what you gotta do to get some rest.  Right after we were up, we had some breakfast and watched her shows on the Disney Channel.  She is sooo funny about those shows.  She just has to watch them and she knows all the songs that go with them too.

Finally, after she lost interest in one of the shows, I snuck in the shows that I had DVR'd from a few nights ago... Haha.  I gotta get my fix too you know.

About noon, we decided it was time to wake the Daddy up.  We wanted lunch and thought if we asked him to go get it... he would.  And he did.  LOL.  So, we all had a wonderful lunch of McDonalds!  Woo Hoo.  So healthy I know!  But I've really been craving those french fries (I'm going to hear it from my mom now...)

Its now about 430pm and I haven't accomplished much of anything.  I did get the Hubby to go up into the attic to get the wrapping paper down... Only to find out that I'm not going to have enough to do all my presents.  Plus, I can't find my tape or my scissors.  I guess I'll be having to get up early tomorrow and making my way to Target... Who knows if I'll come out of there alive or not!  LOL.  I told myself that I wasn't going to go shopping on the weekends unless it was really early in the morning and that I wasn't about to try to shop after 5pm on the weekdays either... I just can't handle the crowds.  But if I don't go soon, I'll be really behind on my gift wrapping.

My dad just called and asked if Rowan and I wanted to go have Turkey tacos with them tonight... So, I'm going to take them up on their offer.  I for one don't have anything to cook and I don't feel like eating PB&J's tonight... So I guess its off to Mom and Dad's for dinner.  Gotta love having the parents just 10 minutes away!  Plus, Rowan gets to spend time with her YaYa and Grandpa...

Sorry there isn't much else for me to ramble on about.  Its been really quiet here.  I've also gotta run and get the Princess into the bath.  LOL.  See, I told you we've been lazy today... haha.

Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday evening!

HUGS TO ALL... Jennifer

Friday Updates

GlitterTree.gifCount down to Christmas Eve is 14 days!!

Okay guys and gals... I'm here to update you all on my wonderful Friday.  So, last night around 9pm, I stopped eating and drinking for my fabulous glucose test this morning.

I was up at 7am and out the door to my mom's to drop the Princess off by 830am.  I got to the lab at 9am and immediatly had that wonderfully sugary-orange soda drink.  Really, it wasn't that bad... Thankfully they keep them really cold.  So, I downed that drink in the allowed 5 minutes and then it was off to the bathroom to leave a sample... Having to pee in a cup is something I just can't stand!  But I did it anyways.

They started the timer and I settled into my seat to read the People magazine that I put aside just for today.  About 30 minutes into the waiting, I noticed that Zachary was just moving all about... I guess the sugar was getting to him.  Finally, the hour was up and they took my blood... 3 viles full!  Argh.  Luckily the lady that did it didn't have a hard time finding my vein and used a rather small needle... What a doll :D

So, I did go and get my test done ya'll.  See... I kept my word!  LOL.  After the test it was off to my mom's to get Rowan and her and head to the mall for some Christmas shopping.

Now, at the mall, I started to feel weird.  I hadn't had anything to eat besides half of a yogurt parfit from McDonalds and some Diet Coke after the test... And all of the sudden I'm getting really hot and starting to sweat.  Mind you, I can't wear a lot of clothes, so don't think I'm doubled up in some thick sweater or something.  I just have a plain shirt on with my jeans.  So, my mom and Rowan go get in the Santa line and I'm in a store getting a gift card for my niece when I start to get the shakes.  Not too bad at first... But by the time I get to the register and go to sign the reciept, my hand is shaking uncontrolably.  That was too weird for me, since I've never experienced something like that.

Well, I make it out of the store and head towards the elevator (because I have the stroller filled with bags) when I realize I need something to eat and drink now or I'm going to go insane with the shaking and the sweating!  So, I go to Hot Dog On A Stick and get a large lemonade for my mom and I and a hot dog for me.  I swear, I don't remember ever eating something sooo quickly!  I scarfed it down.

By the time I got to my Mom and Rowan in the Santa line, I was shaking pretty badly.  But once I ate the hot dog and drank some of the lemonade, I was feeling better... About 15 mins after eating, the shakes were gone.  But geeze, I don't want to experience anything like that again!!  I guess maybe because I hadn't really eaten all day and with the glucose drink in my system it kinda wacked my body out... Weird.

Anywho... Enough about that...

Miss Rowan did sit on Santa's lap today... We were very impressed with her!  She even told him what she wanted (a purple bike) and said Please after her request!  How cute.  I did get some pictures, so I will be posting those... Just not tonight, I'm exhausted!

Oh yes.  I just about finished my Christmas shopping today.  I finished everyone but one of our nieces (does anyone have any ideas for a 9yr old?) and Rowan.  But Rowan will have to be done with the Hubby and I.  We like to shop together for her... But other than that, I need to start wrapping.  I guess a trip to Target to get boxes, paper, tape and scissors is in order!  Cause there is only 14 days left until I have to give half of the presents I bought to the people they belong to!

Well, I think thats all I can spurt out for tonight... I need to go to bed!!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend... And I'll catch up on journals soon!

HUGS TO ALL....
