Wow. I've had a few comments about what Linguica is....
I didn't even think that this might be something that is popular out here in California and no where else.
Well, linguica is a Mild (can be made spicy too) Portuguese Sausage that you can BBQ, Fry, Boil or cook any which way.
Well, the Hubby prefers to have it boiled when we eat it as a breakfast food, but BBQ'd on a roll with onions is my way to eat it... Haha.
SO, I do hope this helps some people out... Now, I'm wondering if Chorico and Tri-Tip is something only popular here too??

That looks like Keilbasa. That is a polish sausage. Chorico is some thing us spanish people eat on the east side but I don't know what Tri-Tip is. LOL
And again I want to say how much I enjoy reading about you and your family. I am a mother of 3. 17, 10 and 7 years old. I love being a mom. I just wish I could find the time to start a journal and figure out how to start it LOL.

I think it is so strange how we forget that other places in the world, country etc etc don't have the same foods. I live in Southeastern MA and you would be very hard pressed to find someone here who doesn't know what linguica is. Then again, Southeastern MA is all portuguese people, including myself.

Girl! i was raised on "the santa maria style bar-b-q" santa maria being my home town -born and raised until i was 13. this is too funny, hehehe: i was once in a very shee shee farmers market in a very very rich and posh neighborhood near me in san diego and was in the spice isle. low and behold an actual spice jar had the name of Santa Maria Style seasoning! i almost peed lol!
People, if you haven't or don't know what this is, LOOK IT UP! it's a crazy kind of heaven you'll never forget if your a meat eating, garlic bread dipping in juices, beans on the side with salad bar-b-q lover all started with drinks and Linguica! *wink*

I've never heard of any of the three! LOL! I'm just a Tennessean though. LOL! I actually like it here, and I've realized it more today. For all my life I've dreamed of living in a bigger city with a mall to go to anytime I wish, and today I went to the mall and the traffic drove me NUTS!! I still love shopping though... If I have to put up with traffic, so be it!
I know they put linguica on pizza in some parts of MA. Never tried it. The last two items you mentioned, no clue what they are. :-)
I have never heard of it, but it sounds good. What are the other two things? We don't have that kind of stuff here in Tennessee, but you probably can't buy tripe, hogs feet, cow tounge or chitlins there. LOL
