~Wondering~

                   AngelBear.jpg

Why:

Why is it when you get a charlie horse in your leg in the middle of the night, the pain literally stays with you for the rest of the next day?

Why do men have such a hard time replacing the empty toilet paper roll with a new one?

Why do men leave a sliver of soap in the soap dish and then put a new bar of soap on top of it?  Can't they throw the old stuff away?

And, I know I've mentioned this one before, but it still bugs the crap out of me...

Why do people feel the need to slam on their brakes when they see a cop on the side of the road after pulling someone else over?

So, we didn't end up going to the candle light vigil last night.  The Hubby was actually home last night, not feeling all that well.  He had been sick the night before at work and his Sgt. told him to just stay home last night, and if they really needed him, they'd call him in.  Luckily, he didn't get called in though...

Instead of going to the vigil, we had a little one of our own.  The Hubby had purchased large red, white and blue candles at the local store and we put those out on our porch.  If we couldn't be there in person, we were going to be there in spirit of sorts.

The vigil was moved from the local high school to a church in town due to security reasons.  How sad is that?  The police departments SWAT team was on hand doing security, which was nice, but its horrible that it had to come to that.  Even with the cold and the possible threats, at least 400 people showed up.  It makes me very happy to know that this family is being supported so nicely by the community...

And just for an update, the other officer is now just in 'serious' condition... Nothing critical.  He'll still have to have a few surgeries and lots of physical therapy and care, but he will make it.... Thank God.

Last night was a quiet night at our house.  The Hubby made homemade chicken soup and we just watched a few episodes of "24" that we had DVR'd.  It was nice just to spend some quiet time with Rowan and the Hubby.... Plus, I think the Hubby needed it more than I... lol.

Early this morning, somewhere around 330am, I woke up to the worst possible pain ever!  ::hint in the being under "why's"::

Yes, that is right!  I woke up screaming to a horrible, horrible Charlie Horse!  I scared the crap out of the Hubby too... I felt bad about it, but I couldn't help not screaming.  It hurt like hell... And it still hurts.  I am literally limping on that leg everytime I put my foot down!  How horrible is that?  But I guess that comes with the territory of being pregnant...

I'm thinking that I might be leaving work a little earlier than normal today.  I don't have much to do and I hate to just sit around and pick my nose... lol.  Nice image huh?  Plus, with the Hubby and Rowan both being home, I'd actually like to spend some time with them.

Tonight my friend Amy is coming over to watch "The O.C." and have a semi-girl's night... I guess it won't truly be a girls night because the Hubby will be home... But hey, at least we can try.  Haha.  Plus, Miss Rowan has been wanting to see her "Auntie Amy".  We are probably going to order some pizza and just hang out...

But I'm just going to relax tonight.  I was going to clean house, but I'm thinking I'm going to save that for tomorrow because I'll be stuck at home tomorrow.  I have to take my car in for service and then the Hubby has stuff to do (pick up his new uniforms and visit the other officer), so I will be with out a car... That will give me a really great excuse to start cleaning... lol.

Well, I've gotta run for now.  I have some stuff to do now if I want to leave early... LoL.  Who knows if I will though :)

Hope you all have a wonderful day...

::Many Hugs::

That's so nice of you guys to have a vigil at home.  I'm glad that the other officer will be okay.

Hope you guys have a good night tonight :)

i am actually really glad to hear that u guys stayed home and had your own vigil...a lot safer...its awfully sad though to know that it isnt safe to go to a memorial vigil for a friend...whats the world coming to? as for the charlie horse...oh my gosh...u just brought back the most painful memories of being pregnant! luckily i knew how to get them to stop but it entailed my hubby helping to pull my foot back all the way for me...that always stopped it...but i hated being woken from a sound sleep to that pain and also having to wake him to help me...oh ..im still cringing here! i hope u have a fun evening with amy :-)

I didn't get your alert...I hate it when AOL does this...grrrr....
I use to get Charley Horses in my legs alot. My grandma always told me that when I did to pinch my upper lip as hard as I could (from side to side)...I thought that she was crazy, but the next time that it happened I tried it and it worked. For some reason it releases the pressure..I can't explain it, just try it next time and see if it works for you.
Hugs,
Kathi

I got my first Charlie horse when I was pregnant.  I was living at home w/ my mom and she was actually downstairs at my grandmother's.  I woke up in such pain and had no clue why(i screamed too).  So I called downstairs and told me grandmother to tell my mother to get upstairs now.  My mom flew up the stairs, faster than I've ever seen her move, and she runs slow so she must've thought something was wrong w/ the baby (she's a nurse so I can only imagine what was running thru her head).  She comes in and I tell her my leg hurts soooooooo bad.  She just laughs at me and tells me to point my toes, I have a Charlie horse!  I thought she was gonna kill me.  I'd never had one before so it scared me.
